“Air conditioning was not working. But luckily it cooled down enough at night to make it bearable. The room and the balcony were great as was the staff. ”

“The front desk staff were fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about them. The bar/in hotel restaurant however might have been the worst service I’ve ever had. It took over 20 minutes to get a simple drink, and another 40 minutes to get our food, which was wrong/not what we ordered. The server was very polite (I don’t recall her name), but the wait times and lack of attention to detail was abysmal. The hotel and stay were wonderful, but I would never eat or get a drink there if I come back”

“A very unique hotel! Accommodations were unlike any other that we have experienced. Staff was very pleasant. Breakfast served at the lovely bar was very good. The decor and furnishings are appropriate to the club’s history. We would recommend The Detroit Club to anyone who appreciates an unusual night’s sleep. ”

“Property was clean, spacious and close to all amenities in the downtown area. There were a few appliances that needed to be replaced, the iron did not work and the tea kettle lid didn't close property. Minor inconveniences, but overall a great stay.”

“We checked in late into a room and realised that there were food leftovers from previous guests in the refrigerator. The oven and Refrigerator both didn’t seem to work. We were given a second room and found that there were hair strands on the microwave oven, dust and coffee stains on the bed side table and the bathroom door was broken, resulting in door not closing. Room hygiene and cleanliness were basic expectations which this hotel failed to provide. Really disappointed with our stay....

“Honestly wasn’t sure what to expect considering the price. But everything was perfect!! Every thing was quiet and up to date. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in the Detroit area. We will be back!”

“From the moment I checked in I was greeted with an attitude of indifference boarding annoyance, from that moment on I couldn’t help but notice how poorly run and maintained this facility is. MGM and, or Marriott ought to drop this facility from their portfolio and leave it to the same dogs that took this once proud city from 3.89 million residents down to 680,000 residents in a matter of twenty years.
