The plan seems to be to leverage technology to minimize staffing needs. Download the app to be able to unlock front and room doors. Staff that are present have all been very cordial.
Decor is modern and minimalist. Here and there several items could use a bit more maintenance — door that sticks, vent cover askance, shower draining slowly.
Rooms include kitchen facilities, and there are laundry facilities on site.
For what it is, the Sonder Fritz does it ok. It’s not trying to be fancy.
My biggest warning though has to do with the HVAC being tied to a calendar. Signs in the room by the thermostat advise that the HVAC can operate heat OR air conditioning but not both. Usually in October they switch off the AC and turn on the heat. Other direction in April. We stayed here last April and no problem. However when returning in September the overnight temps were in the 40s. Heat was needed, but not an option. The front desk staff did able to provide a small space heater which helped. Still, this sounds like a management decision to minimize spending on infrastructure. Be cautious about booking a stay during periods when there might be larger temperature swings.
