To get to the river there is a cleared path that opens to a place to camp as well! You get the disconnection we all need with the ability to go to Moose Lake, Duluth and even better we found a place to stay when we visit family. Highly recommend family get away, alone or couple. The Island had a good breeze, so the mosquitos were almost non-existent, and the trees are tall and plentiful for shade and a good resting place for a bald eagle one morning we were there. We rented the owners fishing boat and it was very nice for checking out the the different islands and bays. “Most excellent! I was in Duluth for a couple of days skiing and I don't like staying in motels. I was by myself and I enjoy the adventure. It got down below 0F at night and i had to add a couple of pieces of wood to the stove in the middle of the night to stay cozy. The bed had about a foot thick down blanket that was more than enough. Staying in a yurt is like camping, you have to boil water to sponge bath and for doing dishes. The outhouse was a short walk but what a design and well...
