What do you love about your property?

What I love most is the AC — every single room, not just the lounge. On this coast that's the difference between a holiday and a bad night's sleep, and it's the first thing I mention to every guest. Close behind is the balcony: step out in the early morning with a cup of chai, feel the ocean breeze arrive, and catch a glimpse of blue above the treeline. It's not a sea view — I won't call it one — but it's real, and it's the part of the stay people tell me they remember.

What will guests love about the area?

Nyali is Mombasa's residential side — ordinary local life rather than a resort strip, which is exactly what makes a longer stay comfortable. You're minutes from Nyali Mall and Nyali Centre for supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés and a cinema, and a short drive from Haller Park, Mamba Village, and Old Town with Fort Jesus for a proper half-day out. The beach itself is a short drive away, best walked early before the sun and the crowds arrive.

What's your favourite spot within walking distance?

Downstairs, honestly. The Home Plate restaurant sits right in the compound for the mornings nobody wants to cook, and the minimart covers the milk-and-bread run without anyone getting back in a car. It sounds small until your first evening here, when you realise you haven't had to leave the gate all day.

What makes your property stand out?

Two air-conditioned bedrooms — a master and a twin room, not a second bedroom that's really a store with a mattress in it — sleeping up to six. A full kitchen with cooker, fridge and dining table, so you can cook the fish you bought that morning rather than eating out every meal. A washing machine in the flat. A swimming pool, gym, minimart and laundry service in the compound, all behind a manned gate with secure parking and a lift to the door. One rate for the whole flat, whether there are two of you or six.
