The Greek Orthodox monastery at the foot of Mount Sinai (called Jabal Musa or Moses Mountain by the Arabs) is located at the very place where God appeared to Moses in the Burning Bush, beneath the Mount of the Decalogue (Exodus 31:18). This is the oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery, with a history that can be traced back over seventeen centuries. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saint Catherine's Monastery. It lies on the Sinai Peninsula, at the mouth of a gorge at the foot of Mount Sinai, in the city of Saint Catherine, Egypt.
