Una bellissima vacanza
Che dire, tutto perfetto! Dall'accoglienza di Luigi che ci ha subito fatti sentire "a casa", alla casa arredata con gusto e semplicità. Tutto pulito in maniera impeccabile, abbiamo gradito particolarmente l'attenzione ai dettagli, nulla è stato lasciato al caso: dal materiale di consumo quale saponi e detersivi all'attrezzatura di cucina, completa e di qualità. Il panorama è incantevole, il luogo silenzioso e rilassante. I tramonti ogni sera bellissimi ed ogni sera diversi rimangono vivi nel nostro ricordo. La piscina, bella e in posizione strategicamente panoramica, è stata la ciliegina sulla torta. Insomma, una vacanza da ripetere!

Spectacular is all we can say. Beautiful property and grounds, incredible views and sunsets and you’ll never find a better host than Luigi! Also highly recommend the Tuscan Chef to prepare dinner for you at the Villa. Our chef was Giancarlo and he was the best- entertaining and an amazing chef.

Amazing Tuscan Villa

A Tucan Bliss
We had a grand stay at Villa Il Poggio this past June. It is an amazing property set high up on a hill offering 360 degree views over the Tuscan hills. Every evening, with a glass of wine in hand, we watched the breathtaking sunsets, and even after two weeks, it never got boring. The villa is situated at the end of a winding road off the main road to the town of Montisi – hence it is completely private and bucolic. The villa has formal living and dining areas but the two terraces overlooking the hills made dinner every evening an absolute treat. The place is completely set up for cooking inside or outside on the grill and therefore a perfect place for a family gathering. The villa is incredibly well taken care of and the property manager, Luigi, is just a phone call away. One evening, we realized we were out of firewood for grilling on the terrace. We called Luigi for advice as to where we might go to buy some, and he just turned up in a few minutes with all that we needed. The pool on the property is well kept, and we were impressed how the pool was cleaned every late evening. Surrounding the property are grazing meadows with hundreds of sheep that kept our grandkids entertained. The Town of Monitisi has pretty much everything one might need for a holiday. We could not have hoped for a more inviting and warm villa to celebrate a milestone birthday with loved ones. We hope to be back here again.

A Very Special Place
The house and the setting in the Tuscan hills of Montalcino is breathtaking. House is spacious and easily accommodated 10+ people providing plenty of privacy. The kitchen is small but very serviceable and a large refrigerator is an added bonus. After hot days discovering the surrounding hill towns , the pool was enjoyed by everyone. We bought floats at a local store and spent many late afternoons until sunset in the pool. Luigi is a gracious and generous host. He provided lots of recommendations, several bottles of wine and even secured several scarfs for us from the Montisi week-long celebration. We felt welcomed and well care for by Luigi. We will definitely go back for another visit. 14 days was not long enough!

Magnificent!
When we pulled up the long gravel road and saw the incredible views, sheep, Cyprus trees, birds, and the gorgeous villa on the hill in the distance, we thought we had died and gone to heaven. Exhausted from traveling, we pulled up, unloaded our groceries, changed, and jumped in the pool. It was glorious. Luigi communicated with us the entire time up to our trip and during our stay. He was very helpful and provided an abundance of information on the surrounding area. Every day, we would drive to a village/city, then come back to the villa for a swim, dinner on the terrace, and then watch the incredible sunset over the hill. Montisi, which is 5 minutes down the road, is a quaint little village with a mini market, a bakery, a wine shop, a cinema, and a Trattoria. Worth a visit. The villa's grounds are beautifully landscaped with rosemary hedges, olive trees, rose bushes, and gorgeous flowers. The sheep were always fun to watch move around throughout the day. There are several co-ops in the area if you want to buy groceries for the week. We passed by Sinalunga often, so we typically used that grocery store. The villa is very large and can accommodate a lot of people. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is another small kitchen that we did not need to use. There's an outdoor grill on one of the terraces and plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting areas. This was one of the best vacations we have ever had, and we already booked the villa again for next year!

Words don't even do it justice...
I think anyone that looks at these photos can see this place is very special. So expectations were high when we arrived. The only thing that came as a surprise to us was that there is a 1k dirt/gravel road leading from the main road to the villa. Just wasn't prepared for that in our rental car, but in the end, it was totally fine. But everything else exceeded those already very high expectations. We drove up with a flock of sheep grazing in the field adjacent to the property. The space is just expansive and beautiful. My wife and I took 3 of our adult children, 2 of which had just graduated from college, and 1 of their significant others, so we had a total of 6 adults in the villa. We loved everything about it. The swimming pool was wonderful on the warm Summer days and we loved just sitting around, reading and swimming. There's plenty of room for everyone, and everything you could possibly need. Luigi is the perfect host and made sure that if we needed anything, we had it quickly and efficiently. Make sure to do the private chef they recommend. We did it for 2 dinners during our week there. It was very reasonably priced, the food was absolutely delicious and we didn't have to do a thing. When the chef left, the kitchen was cleaner than when they had arrived. The same firm that provides the private chefs has a cooking school in town. We also highly recommend that. Just can't say enough. This property and Luigi the host are the best!!!!!

Schönes Anwesen zum entspannen.
Das Haus und die Umgebung entsprachen genau den Bildern der Anzeige. Das Haus ist sehr groß und für unsere 3 Familien mehr als ausreichend - auch die Ausstattung an Geschirr usw. ist mehr als ausreichend. Man hat die Möglichkeit gemütlich beisammen zu sitzen bzw. auch mal für sich alleine zu sein - prima. Der Vermieter Luigi war super - hat uns eine Vielzahl an Lokation zukommen lassen (Restaurants, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten usw.). Leider hatten wir wenig Glück mit dem Wetter - aber wie gesagt, das Haus ist groß genug um auch dann noch einen schönen Aufenthalt genießen zu können. Nochmals Danke an Luigi

The Villa is great and then THE VIEW!
Luigi has this property set up so guests can optimize spending time with family & friends. The pool, the patio, the grill and uncovered patio and all with one of the most gorgeous views in the world. (Not exaggerating ) Then inside he has 2 different dining tables to accommodate everyone plus 3 sofas to lounge upon. We loved having all of southern Tuscany to roam during the day and then the Villa to return to with our wine treasures to enjoy the evening. We truly had a very special time here and I’d like to return and do it all again. We arranged with The Tuscan Chef for 2 dinners and a cooking class at the Villa- so much fun and very delicious. We highly recommend them. Luigi is an excellent host and very responsive to questions and he also helped us communicate with businesses nearby, for which we are very grateful. Thank you, Luigi!

A beautiful Tuscan home
We very much enjoyed our stay! The home and property are beautiful! This is an old Tuscan villa, so remember that things are not new and perfect, but Luigi was very responsive to any need we had. The house was very comfortable and a great place for our family to spend a week exploring Tuscan towns. Luigi was most helpful in suggesting local guides to give us tours in neighboring towns and recommended a wonderful chef who prepared dinner for us two nights at the villa - a real treat and something we highly suggest! We hope to make it back one day soon!

Iconic Tuscan Experience
Luigi is an excellent host. The villa is in a beautiful location with breath-taking views. It was like living in a Tuscan postcard. The home was clean and all of the bedrooms were spacious. The kitchen was small and not fully equipped so if you are planning to cook dinner make sure you have all of the necessary cooking utensils. Otherwise, this is a fabulous property. Really special. I highly recommend it.

Perfect for family gathering
Luigi's home was perfect for our extended family get together. There was plenty of room to spread out and the space felt very comfortable. The patios, gardens, and pool were exceptional. There is almost a 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside. The villa made a great base for exploring several Tuscan towns and wine regions. We would highly recommend it!

Picture perfect villa and stunning views of the Tuscan countryside . Everything you could dream about a Tuscany holiday! Our nearby village of Montisi was awesome. We made friends with many of the locals and loved exchanging tidbits of our daily lives with each other. Villa is perfectly situated for day trips aground Tuscany. Luigi, our host, could not have been more attentive. He ensured we had a great stay. Don’t miss out on setting up private chef dinner at villa by Tuscan Chef. It was incredible experience. We stayed 16 days and can’t wait to return!

A wonderful Stay in Tuscany
We went to the property for a week and used it as a base camp (so to speak). The property is in a secluded area, but convenient for visiting other local cities, such as Siena, San Gimignano, Montalcino and Florence. The pool was a wonderful addition. Luigi was very attentive and accommodating. There are some nice restaurants in close proximity. The only drawback for some might be the lack of air conditioning. However, many fans were provided and the weather was temperate enough not to have this cause a problem. All in all we had a very nice stay.

Perfekt für Familien!
Wir waren schon oft in der Toskana in Ferienhäusern und dieses zählt zu den Besten! Der Pool ist super und echt groß. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet. Luigi ist sehr freundlich und entspannt. Wir hatten nur 2 Kritikpunkte: 1. unglaublich viele und aggressive Mücken (aber da kann keiner was dafür) 2. das Gelände ist nicht umzäunt, was für Hundebesitzer evtl. Ein Problem sein könnte. Ansonsten würden wir (7 Personen) das Haus weiterempfehlen. Die Lage fanden wir ebenfalls prima.

Fantastic villa
We had a fantastic holiday in the beautiful villa. The house was perfect. Large and spacious, so there was plenty of room for the whole family from the youngest at 0 to the oldest at 72. We felt comfortable from the moment we entered the house. And enjoyed many good hours on the terrace outside with the most beautiful view. The pool was big and delicious and we spent many hours there. And perfect that you could also be in the shade by the pool. Luigi was a great host and helped us throughout the stay. One evening we had booked a private chef and waiter and enjoyed a delicious dinner, which was served on a set table. Can definitely be recommended. We couldn't have dreamed of a better holiday. I can give my warmest recommendations

This first trip to Montalcino/Montepulciano for our several family members and friends could not have been made more welcoming and beautiful (despite the unseasonal intense heat) than Luigi helped make it be. The villa is beautiful, the views spectacular, and Luigi was thoughtful, kind, and helpful to us at every juncture. Montisi is a lovely Tuscan village; but, don’t miss San Quirco D’Orcia and Pienza! Shop for groceries at the large grocery in the mall in Sinalunga. And, know that Luigi will be welcoming and helpful at every moment. This was an outstanding stay in every way. Thank you, Luigi!

Great experience! Highly recommend it.
Other then having an issue locating it at first (someone stole the sign), everything about the stay was great. The home was spacious & clean. The owner made himself available to us & was there for any questions or issues that came up. It's located on a working sheep farm which was an added bonus as the sheep were often in the pastures near the villa which made for some great photos. I would recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation in the hills of Tuscany.

Better in Person
Luigi’s villa is better than advertised - stayed for a week with my family for father’s 80th birthday and it was perfect. Great central location for quick trips to the best parts of Tuscany - the quaint hilltop villages that possess charm, and excellent food and far fewer tourists than areas closer to Florence. 360 degree views are exactly what you picture in your head of Tuscany. You will not be disappointed.

Traumhaft schöne Landschaft
Wir haben zwei Wochen als Familie in Montisi verbracht. Das Haus selbst ist gut ausgestattet und wunderschön gelegen, die Aussicht von der Terrasse und vom Garten aus ist fantastisch! Das Schönste für unsere Kinder war natürlich der große und gepflegte Pool. Fußläufig liegt das Örtchen Montisi, in dem einige gute Restaurants, ein Bäcker und ein kleiner Lebensmittelladen vorhanden sind. In der näheren Umgebung finden sich einige schöne touristische Attraktionen, die teilweise nicht so überlaufen sind. Gute Tipps gibt hier der sehr sympathische Vermieter Luigi, der stets ansprechbar bei Fragen und kleineren Problemen war. Rundherum also ein gelungener Urlaub!

Beautiful place for holiday
Tuscany is one of my favourite destinations for travelling. Montisi is a typical tuscany lovely small village, where you definitely have to try perfect croissants with italian espreso in cafe Cinema in the morning:) The property is not far from Montisi, settled in a beautiful landscape. I loved the terracce in every day-time. You never get enaugh of magnificent view to the surrounding landscape. The garden and the pool area are very well kept and the pool is very clean. Luigi is very kind and heplfull host. This is really place where I would like to come again:)Thanks Luigi:)

Great villa in the middle of Tuscany. Luigi was a gracious host and helped us immensely throughout the trip. Large pool which helped us to cool down during the day. Märchenhafte Lage
sehr schönes , geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Landhaus , grosser Pool, sehr schön angelegtes Grundstück mit mehreren Sitzbereichen ; freundlicher, immer hilfsbereiter Vermieter, über whatsapp immer erreichbar. Die Fenster waren alle mit Fliegenrollos ausgestattet ( notwendig! ). In der sehr gut ausgestatteten Küche 2 Kühlschränke mit Gefrierfach. Wir haben die Ruhe genossen und konnten uns gut erholen.

Beautiful Villa on a hilltop in the middle of Montisi and San Giovanni d’Asso
The Villa has plenty of space and great outdoor patio and pool area. We were 3 couples over 6 days and wonderful restaurants close by in Montisi (5km), Trequanda (7km), Sinalunga (15km) therefore it’s needless to say that a vehicle is a MUST. We hired a Tuscan Chef one evening who catered to all of our needs with a 4 course meal that was sensational and the kitchen was left spotless. We visited several wineries and took a day trip to Florence via train from Chiusi which is approx. 1 hour away from the Villa. What can I say about Luigi, he is an amazing host who was available at any time we needed guidance, recommendations or any questions. He speaks and understands English very well, enough that everything is understood. There are so many places to visit within 1 hour but be prepared for the winding roads ahead. Grazzi! Luigi was a great host—very helpful! The villa and surrounding area were perfect. We especially enjoyed the quaint little town of Montisi—it has a fantastic restaurant. From the villa it is easy to get to almost all the towns in Tuscany: Montalcino, Montepulciano, Sienna, and even Chiusi. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Truly amazing
The house was exactly as advertised and suited our family. The pool was great and the garden had been carefully planned and planted and was automatically watered early mornings. Luigi was very helpful explaining things to us and providing guidance to places to visit, restaurants etc. There is plenty to go see and experience - especially Siena and Montepulciano, but also within 20-30 minutes lots of less know sites - especially the Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Plenty of restaurants all around - but book ahead. My absolute favorite was early morning watching the swallows zipping over the pool at full speed scooping a few drops as they went, and the sunsets of course, such a pretty outlook. A few mosquitoes and we needed the fans in the house as it warmed during the afternoons and evenings - but these were minor distractions and otherwise it was close to perfect.

Un petit paradis
Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette villa de rêve. La maison n'a aucun voisin, le calme est au rendez-vous, la vue est superbe. Seule une petite route de campagne passe à 100 mètres de la maison mais il y a peu de passage. L'accès à la maison est facile, le chemin est en bon état et ne fait que quelques mètres, ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas en Toscane. Nos repas sous la pergola de la terrasse étaient un vrai bonheur! Luigi et son frère passent en toute discrétion pour entretenir le jardin (magnifique) et la piscine ( très agréable) . Ils ont été d'une aide précieuse pour notre séjour nous aidant au mieux lors de nos différentes demandes (soins médicaux, commerces, restaurants) , ils ont contribué à rendre ce séjour formidable ! Le village de Montisi tout proche est très joli. Nous y allions notamment pour la boulangerie, la boucherie est dans le village voisin de Trequanda et pour un supermarché nous trouvions tout ce qu'il fallait à Sinalunga à 20 min. L'emplacement de la maison est idéal pour découvrir les villages perchés du Val d'Orcia, ils sont à 20/30 min environ voire plus proches. La maison est bien équipée , très confortable, avec un charme fou, et nous n'avons manqué de rien. La literie est de qualité. Vous trouverez même le nécessaire de première nécessité à votre arrivée (épices, sacs poubelles, lessive...). Bref, que du bonheur! Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse. Vous pouvez y aller en toute tranquillité, vous ne serez pas déçus.

Thanks to Luigi, we had a fantastic time at his villa in Tuscany. The villa had everything we needed and the pool was a great size for our family. The location was perfect.....so close to the hidden gem of Montisi. The town was accessible and the people were very welcoming. The villa is a great base if you want to visit all the beautiful surrounding towns near by. Great villa, great location
This villa was perfect for our needs and was accurately portrayed on the website. The house and garden were both neat and tidy and well kept. The bedrooms were spacious and the multitude of pleasant bathrooms appreciated. There was plenty of room for our families to find their own space when needed and we appreciated the quiet location. The pool was a particularly favourite spot, kept beautifully clean by Luigi's brother, and a good size to allow some exercise as well as to play and to cool down on what became an increasingly hot week! The views are magic - archetypically Tuscan, and we loved to eat on the terrace and watch a beautiful sunset behind the distant hills each night. It was also a great location to explore the area, with several towns within 30 - 45 minutes drive. Two supermarkets in Sinalunga 20 mins away and a couple of small grocers in Montisi or San Giovanni for top up items. Fresh linen was delivered at the end of the first week, and Luigi and his brother were helpful, easy to contact and considerate of our privacy when carrying out pool and garden maintenance. We can't quite believe our luck in having found Sant' Anna and would not hesitate to return or to recommend this to others. Thank you to Luigi and family.

Comfortable and modern accommodation in lovely setting
We loved our 11 day stay at Luigi's place. The setting in the surrounding countryside and farmland is beautiful and relaxing. The accommodation itself provides everything you could need and the rooms are a good size with modern fittings and excellent decoration. The garden is a great place to spend time on lazy days, and the location provides an excellent base for accessing much of what Tuscany has to offer, all of which are well worth a visit. Luigi is a great guy who is extremely helpful and personable, and was kind enough to provide us with a bottle of local wine and some of his own virgin olive oil, freshly pressed that day. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Book here and you will have a great relaxing holiday.

The Pictures Don't Do it Justice
Il Poggio is more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. Our host, Luigi, did a wonderful job of taking pictures describing his property. However, like all of Tuscany, it can't really be captured in a few photographs. This is an extraordinary property and our host, Luigi, couldn't have been more helpful. From the very beginning, Luigi was very responsive and answered all our questions. We visited Il Poggio in September 2018 and the highs were 86 degrees and above during the day. Il Poggio has 2 foot thick walls and remains cool during the day and comfortable in the evening. We had 7 people in all. The property is large and the views could not have been better. Also, nearby Montisi has some of the best restaurants we have ever experienced. Cheers to Luigi and Il Poggio!

Lovely peaceful, private location with excellent views and good access to roads
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa was everything we expected, the beds were comfortable as were the lounge and shower facilities. The kitchen was well equipped, although we never cook anything, but it was there if you wanted to. Outside the views were amazing, pretty much in every direction. On one day we were rewarded with sight of 6 Bee-Eaters, apparently not particularly common in the area. It was a delight to just sit and relax, look at the views and watch the sun go down in the evening. The pool was great, spotlessly clean very well maintained and we were in and out on most days. From the villa we visited many small towns and villages and of course Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra, every one fantastic and well worth the journey. Luigi, was very friendly and helpful and speaks very good English, so no difficulty communicating. Thanks Luigi, we have a lovely time and would love to come back again when we can.

Beautiful villa set amid beautiful Tuscan hills. This is a wonderful holiday setting
We stayed in il Poggio for a week and it was large and comfortable for our group of 11 family and friends.we will never forget the wonderful views and the beautiful swimming pool. The villa has a variety of large comfortable rooms and we had a fantastic holiday and would love to return. It is extremely peaceful listening to the birds and the villa has everything you require for a holiday in Tuscany. We enjoyed siteseeing but spent most of the time relaxing and Luigi was an extremely helpful host

Amazing villa with 360 view!
We had an amazing stay at Villa Il Poggio, the villa is fantastic with the panoramic view, the wonderful pool and lovely interior. We were 11 friends and stayed for a week and the villa had everything we could ask for. Luigi is a fantastic host, I would definitely recommend this place and me and my friends will for sure return!

Beautiful villa in a perfect location!
We stayed for two weeks at Sant Anna and enjoyed every second of it. The villa is located in a beautiful scenery, has got a great view and is very quiet. The owner, Luigi, is very friendly and offers help whenever needed. In the villa you can find everything you need for daily life. The kitchen is well equipped and everything is very clean. The beds are also very comfortable. The garden and the pool are perfectly taken care of. Clean water, very comfortable sun beds etc. We can definitely recommend the villa Sant Anna and we hope to be back one day.

Tuscan Sun
We enjoyed two, sun-filled weeks at this villa. Everything in the villa was just as advertised and pictured. Luigi was very friendly and helpful, making sure the pool stayed as sparkling clean as it was on our arrival day. Though the days were hot, the nights were cool and breezy. Simply opening the windows at dusk and closing the shutters in the morning kept the house comfortable during the day. The insect screens on the windows were a huge bonus. The Tuscan Chef is based in Montisi and he will come to your villa to bring a meal or to lead you in private cooking lessons. The kitchen has everything you need for this. There is a grill on the property (must bring your own charcoal) and we purchased Chianina beef from a farm in Sinalunga several times. Every evening, the Tuscan sun set a different shade on the horizon that we enjoyed from the front portico. We would happily return.
