Mayor's Manor - with everything you need in a homebase get away. Pet friendly.

  • The open concept of this property with large deck, privacy fenced in yard, and large 1 car garage (it's actually a 2 car, but only 1 stall is available) make it ideal for almost any occasion. Whether you are in town for a wedding, fishing tournament, hunting season, Bald Eagle watching, visiting Nauvoo (5 minute flight if you're a crow or 30 minute drive in a car), or just enjoying one of the greatest states in the nation, this property in historic Montrose will not disappoint. It's physically located walking distance from several parks, ice cream shop, local watering hole and eatery, and boat ramp.

    There are security cameras located in the garage, the fenced in yard, and under the garage overhang looking at the backdoor and deck area. Curious what they see? The monitor for the cameras is in the house and available to view live. Please do not select "alarm" on the cameras. It is loud and the the neighbors won't appreciate it. There are also 2 cameras in the basement pointing straight down at the sump pumps in case it rains to see if there is water in the basement. The only basement on the block of a 1910 home leaks. If the cameras are unacceptable, I can remove them during your stay. Two of the other cameras on the monitor are physically located at 300 Spruce Street in a gymnasium.

    Garage: Although it is a 2 stall there is only 1 stall available for you to park. I store a few items (backhoe attachment, ATV, etc) in the other stall of the garage I may need access to during your stay. If so, I will reach out to let you know and I will enter from the alleyway. You won't even know I'm there.

    Kayaks: Please let me know when you book your stay if you plan to use the complimentary kayaks. I will want to make sure they are in the garage along with appropriate life jackets.

    Sleeping 7: There are 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, a full size futon, and only 1 bathroom. The house can accommodate 7, but it is tight. Plan accordingly.

Comfortable small town house

Comfortable small town house in nice location. Perfect for our visit with family that lives in Montrose. All the comforts of home. Will be staying here again in future visits. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to visit the area.

Nice Historical Home

We enjoyed our stay in Montrose in this home. It was clean and quiet. The house was old but was comfortable and we were able to do all the things we wanted to on our vacation. Check in and out was simple. Overall, a nice stay.

WOW - Bald Eagles

We enjoyed our stay so much. We loved driving around to see the Bald Eagles. It was warm outside and a perfect vacation. The rental was very nice as well. We will be visiting this property again. Thank you for making it perfect and comfortable for us.

Great home base!

We had a great time! Well stocked kitchen, with pans, serving ware, dishes, appliances- it had it all to feed our family after long days geode hunting! A very well cared for home and really kind communicative hosts. We appreciated the organization and they had just the right balance of everything you need with lots of room to relax and hang out. Would stay again!

Great stay in Montrose

My stay was a combination of work and pleasure. The owner was very receptive to all my questions and made sure that everything was great during my stay. The place was immaculate and the beds/bedding were extremely comfortable. It was great having a 2 car garage available to park in as well.

Wonderful place

Great house to stay in! Our family of 6 was very comfortable. It was very clean, updated, and well stocked. A/C worked great and the water pressure was really good! Pleanty of cookware and nice dishes. Would definitely recommend.

Comfortable beds. Very Clean. Quite a few free snacks. Great shower. Plenty of soap etc. for the kitchen, shower, and laundry. Nice garage. Nice little town with a good local restaurant/bar. Close to Nauvoo, IL (35min)

Mayor Manor

Our first impression of this property was that it was extremely clean. It was well-appointed and complete, from the kitchen, entertainment area, and clean, comfortable beds — fabulous night’s sleep. The beds and all linens were first rate. We appreciated the makeup mirror and all of the other extra touches in the bathroom. Our many compliments to our hosts who were attentive and readily replied to our emails. Lovely, well-maintained house and nicely decorated. If you decide to stay with in this quaint town with midwestern hospitality, you will not be disappointed. Your hosts will ensure you will feel welcomed. I cannot say enough good things about these wonderful hosts.
