“A real wow location, in a characterful old water mill. A wonderful piece of France, with plenty too see, eat and drink within an easy drive along pot-hole free roads. The Domaine de Cande was especially interesting, the location of the Traitor King's (Edward VIII) marriage to Mrs Simpson by a corrupt clergyman in 1937.”

“I came to Loire Valley to tour the castles of the region with my wife and two other couples. So, why not stay in a castle ourselves? That's exactly what we did. Alexia, one of the hosts, was there to greet us when we arrived. She showed us around the property (including a pool that sadly we didn't have time to enjoy). “We had an excellent stay at Ballan-Miré. The house is really nice and well furnished, including towels and tea towels, BBQ, outside seating etc. The beds were done on arrival which is really appreciated. The house was clean and a good size, with two large bathrooms. The garden is big and really nice and sunny. WiFi is working well. There is a large supermarket 5 min drive away. No shops at walking distance. The hosts are welcoming, helpful and discreet. Overall a very positive experience! ”

“Nous étions un groupe de 15, tout le monde s'est trouvé très bien logé dans des chambres spacieuses et bien aménagées. Le manoir est un endroit génial. La cuisine est toute moderne et bien équipée. Nous avons pu profiter de la piscine qui n'était pas trop froide, nous avons aussi profité du badminton, du baby foot. Nous avons fait de la barque sur l'Indre et un barbecue.
