Creekside cottage home near Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park

Come stay at our adorable and all newly remodeled 3 bedroom home located in our small rural neighborhood. We are located approximately 12 miles ( 20 minutes) from the Natural Bridge State Park and Red River Gorge area, yet only 7 minutes to nearby grocery. Home features a large modern open kitchen with granite counter tops, all new appliances and is fully stocked with quality cookware. The master bedroom has a private bathroom and there is also a second full bath for guests. We have a covered patio with seating for six to enjoy your morning coffee with a creek view. Property has a firepit circled by Adirondack chairs. Come enjoy a crackling fire by the flowing creek at night, it's my favorite kind of therapy.
Other features include all new beds and all new bedding, a small charcoal grill, and 50 acres of private property across the street to explore as you wish. Jim and I would love to host you and we are right across the street to ensure you have all you need during your stay. We are happy to allow you to self check in with no bother from us or we're happy to chat and assist you with directions, recommendations, etc. We want your getaway to be perfect and seamless in every way!

  • Standing under the Natural Bridge in Slade Kentucky. Its namesake natural bridge is the centerpiece of the park. The natural sandstone arch spans 78 ft (24 m) and is 65 ft (20 m) high. The natural process of weathering formed the arch over millions of years. The park is approximately 2,300 acres (9 km2) of which approximately 1,200 acres (5 km2) is dedicated by the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves as a nature preserve. #Nature

  • This is sky bridge. The most massive arch in Red River. it spans over a hundred feet and about 50 feet in the air. Probably the most famous arch in Red River, it has been seen in movies. Many astro-photographers flock here because of it's structure and clear skyline. If you get a chance, the trail is only .8 miles and very much worth it. You first walk across the top of the arch, it is so big that you are halfway across before you notice your not just on a narrow rock path. then you circle around to be under the arch.

Thankful on Thanksgiving!

My family and I had a great time staying at Margo and Jim’s for the thanksgiving holiday. The place was spacious for the 6 of us and our dogs and my son loved the hot tub!

Red River Gorge Trip

This is house is a great location if you are planning a trip to the Red River Gorge. It was close enough for multiple daily trips to different trails and attractions. The space is well appointed to relax and rejuvenate between excursions. The house was super clean and well stocked with anything you'd need. Margo was a marvelous hostess. We would absolutely stay again if we are in the area. Thank you!

Beautiful place to stay

Very comfortable place to stay with beautiful land surrounding it. Margo was very nice and helpful with out reservation needs. They had put a lot of thought into what you may need for your stay.

Perfectly Unplugged

Our group consisted of 2 couples who were just overworked and overwhelmed with everyday life. Our two children needed to unleash a lot of built up energy. We needed a place that wouldn’t allow us to stare at electronic because it was in such a beautiful area. We enjoyed the nearby creek, the large flat yard and the beautiful kitchen. All 6 of us got to chop, grill, stir, and bake something. We had plenty of room to eat at one table, built a puzzle on the other table and played games on the large ottoman. This was a perfect stress free getaway. Will be going back to either this property or another one by the same people. Thanks Margo and Jim!! You made our staycation the best.

I gave five stars because higher was not an option. By far the nicest place we have ever stayed.

This property is way more than a rental. You can tell when you walk in the door that this place is something that the owners take pride in by their quality craftsmanship. They provided all the standard items and many many more. The kitchen had a little basket of snacks that he baby loved while she played with the toys provided because this grandma failed to remember to bring any. The place was stocked with games, books, luxury robes, and many more toiletries incase something is forgotten. I was so impressed that I added to that stock while I was there. Didn't see any need to bring the travel bottles back home just because I had used the soap and shampoo they provided. The kitchen has two coffee options a pot and a Keurig to accommodate different groups. Brand new top of the line appliances that will make you want to go to the hardware store on your way home to purchase some just like them. The beds and pillows were so comfy. These bedding was not just cheap places to lay your head for the night they were all quality and smelled heavenly. There was a grill with charcoal and utensils provided as well as fire starters for the bondfire ring. The bonfire is right next to the creek so you can relax to the sound of running water. I know I am forgetting tons of things that impressed me but the things that I have written down should be enough to make it obvious that my only regret was that I had to leave and come home. The hosts are very amazing people that live right across the street and will gladly drop what they are doing to tend to any needs you may have with the home. If you have read this to the end you should not look any further for a better house because you will not find one. Thank you for having us and we will be back soon.

6 stars if I could rate it that high

Absolutely flawless. Can’t complain about anything. Easy check in. Easy check out. Got to bring our dogs. Clean comfortable house and furniture. Everything stocked that you could possibly need, location close to everything outdoorsy that you’d want. We came up to hike and kayak. Grocery within 10mins. Couple fast food chains. Quite little area. Wonderful outdoor sitting areas, fire pit with fire wood by a CREEK. (favorite) Nice new appliances. The best host I’ve ever had out of years and years of vaca rentals. Quick responses, snacks left on counter, local information, ice in freezer, patio grille. Only issue we had was half of our group missed the first day and half of stay due to a funeral. Nothing to do with host. Just didn’t have our full group due to losing a grandmother. Margo is absolutely the BEST. I can’t stress that enough. We will definitely be back to the area to hit more trails and get into some water. Don’t skip this rental.
