Oh Dear! I'm so sorry about your issues. I'll address them one by one. There is a strainer in the upper cupboard over the fridge. Our vaulted ceilings are always a problem for seeing and removing cobwebs but we do our best with the special broom you may have seen. The most alarming comment was the condition of the floor. Just before you arrived, we did a chimney clean to remove the creosote from the chimney flue---it was our first time and we didn't know what to expect. I cleaned what soot fell from the chimney into the firebox and washed the stone surround---I always wash all floors and did so this time. I think what must have happened was that fine particles of soot became airborne as it travelled down the chimney and finally settled on the floors. As for the windows, there are two issues---as you mentioned we are reasonably close to the road and road dust continually covers the windows; second, if it rains, which is often does, the rain drips down from the tile roof, hits the soil/mulch around the building and splashes up. We wash them once a week but once it gets cold, they are difficult to keep clean. Carmen
