Amazing location!

I loved staying at the cedar loft. I went for a solo trip and really enjoyed the beach and forest and serenity of the place, especially the day when no one else had booked the neigboring spot and I had the whole beach to myself. The loft had everything I needed and had amazing views of the lake even from the bed. Would recommend.

Family Vacation

Central spot to take in all the sites of the Eastern UP. Great beach. Kayaks were used multiple times daily. Great chairs and fire pit to watch the sunset. Overall great stay.

Nice secluded area for relaxing

We rented both the Cedar loft and lodge for our family reunion. The Loft was a nice addition of space, convenient next to the Lodge. Comfy area, extra frig space and bathroom a plus. Proximity to beach was excellent and easy to get to. Nice setup with chairs on the beach. Note water level was very shallow so not much room for swimming but great for relaxing. Downsides were 2 doors for entry not marked so had trouble getting in at first. Water is not filtered so brushing teeth and showering not very pleasant. Just prepare with bottled water. Host was wonderful and communicated regularly on questions. Would recommend for future stays!

Wonderful stay

The first thing I must say is to ignore any negativity of past reviews. This is a beautiful property. Nikki thought of everything!! The amenities were above and beyond. Wifi, TV, supplies if you happened to forget something and laundry facilities (BONUS). The loft is clean and oh so cozy!!! It's just steps to the beach. There are even Adirondack chairs on the beach for your use. We totally loved our stay. Thank you again, Nikki!!!!

No Air Conditioning!.. But Great if Not Too Hot Outside!...

Beautiful semi private beach.. most private beach I have ever been on.. Cedar Loft was nice but needs TLC.. That said.. overall.. the place is "enchanting".. which is a word seldom used or called for in our fast paced world.. Front view needs cleaned up and opened up so you can see the lake and beach!!.. But again.. being so close to and on the beach.. so to speak.. we got over the drawbacks quickly and had a wonderful time...

Beautiful Loft

Our family of 3 has a great winter getaway at the loft. The space is light, clean, well stocked and has a spectacular view. The host, Nikki, very quickly resolved an issue with the water pressure, communicating with us the whole time. The location is perfect if you want a very secluded vacation; it’s at least 30 minutes away from a major grocery and most of the UP sights, so just plan accordingly. We all highly recommend this loft!

A wonderful stay

We stayed 3 days to Cedar Loft and it was super nice! The localisation is perfect at 2 m of the lake and the beach. The loft have a lot of ustensile for cooking and having a good time at home :)

Comfort and Relaxing

We had a great stay. Explored the UP daily along with a scenic drive up the Lake Superior coast in Canada, and enjoyed coming back to our rental every night. It was well stocked for cooking our dinners and a comfortable relaxing place to spend our evenings and mornings.

Amazing Place to Stay

Though we only stayed for 3 nights, we loved the property and the location. The local food was amazing as well! The ability to use the provided kayaks and watch the sunset on Lake Michigan was something to remember. We are already discussing the idea of coming back!

Fabulous beach location

To summarize the words of my two year old at the end of his first day on the private beach...best day ever! This is our second trip to the property, the first with this owner, and it was lovely. It was a great stay, the beach was just as amazing as we remembered it! The host was very gracious to add a removable baby gate to the property for us. It was the perfect size for the three of us, and we have already booked the larger of the two locations for next year and invited my sisters and brother for a fun family weekend. It was absolutely great to have everything we could need provided on sight...no need to haul a million beach towels and toys from home!

Luxury on a budget

Cedar loft

This was our second year staying at Cedar Loft.The property changed owners. We did discuss some of the up grades that are in process: upgrade from direct TV t o satellite...more chairs on the beach for both property,'s..love it. It is exciting to hear about all the goals the new owners are starting to implement. Our recommendations would be to up date the filter in the shower in the loft. We highly recommend this property! We'll be back!!
