In summary, amazing dining in Preston's restaurant, wife and sisters were very impressed with their spa treatments in spite of the unbelievably bad booking system and a failure to respond to calls that meant we did not get all the treatments wanted nor at convenient times. The hotel building and bar are spectacular, the Palladian building on a large estate really is impressive and some is the staff were brilliant, however this place is a sort of triumph of style over substance. It took three visits to reception to get the keys to the rooms, signage is poor, we wanted to use the big bath in our Schoolhouse Room but all it delivered was scalding water.
