Mixed bag

Off-street parking is a huge benefit. I felt very secure inside the gate. The tiny apartment itself did not seem quite ready for prime time. It was clear that some work had been done, but it wasn’t quite up to par yet. It seemed to be done on a budget that was too low with skills that, likewise, were below par. A fresh coat of paint on beat up furnishings leaves them beat up, still. I don’t wish to disparage the host. I think he’s slowly working in it. I think in time it will be a nice small apartment, but it was not there for this trip.

Safe and Amazing Location!

I love the fact that Alex (owner) lives on property and has a gated entrance to deter any potential theft or destruction of property. Very personable and understanding! We will return to the property just because of Alex! Thank you for a great stay!

Suited us fine

While the accommodations are simple and nothing fancy, the location is perfect and it was everything we needed to have a great “home base” in the Garden District. The proximity to great restaurants in the area is a real plus. 10/10 would stay there again.

Great location. Great host.

This cosy cottage, at the back of the big house, was just right for our 2 week stay during Mardi Gras. Alex was very helpful, quickly responding to our needs and had lots of local information that helped make our stay enjoyable. Next door to Tracey's bar and right on Magazine Street close to lots of eating places and shops, but very quiet as the cottage is set back from the street. We loved our stay and will be back!

Location is great!

Location on magazine street is great! Property adequate, but needs a deep cleaning, and professional paint job. It’s actually the unit in back, and not part of the main, pretty house, and the photos don’t show the exterior of this unit.

Truly excellent

If you're the kind of person that will mind uneven paint, this probably isnt the place for you. But if you want an excellent location, clean, comfortable, and private accommodations? This is the place. Its perfect for one or two people. It was so nice knowing my dog couldnt bother the neighbors when she was feeling grumpy, and likewise no noise bothered me. Brunch is my favorite meal and this rental is a very short walk from some excellent brunch spots. I mostly travelled by Lyft, and everything I wanted to do in the French quarter was about a $10 trip away. Beyond that, Alex is an accommodating host that made sure to be available if I needed anything. I cant wait to come back!

Great stay

The location of this rental is really great - close to all the fun restaurants, shops, and bars on Magazine Street. The bed is a little small for two, but the place was clean and quiet. Alex was very friendly and accommodating.

Great location!

We had a great experiance. Alex was a awesome host. The location is the best, Walk the Garden Duistrict and Magazine Street. Quick bus or trolley ride to the French Quarter. Would definatly stay again.

We loved being in the location we were in.

Cozy, and beautiful location

Great spot for a couple and pet friendly! Comfy bed, ac, and perfect place to relax in after walking around all day. In walking distance of plenty of local restaurants, beautiful historic homes, and an above ground cemetery. Cheap uber or bus ride away from the French quarter, which is great for tourist. This rental is a perfect location with a relaxed quite vibe away from all the noise. The owner is laid back and friendly, offering a great rate for the location. We would happily stay here again.

Good time for us

The location on Magazine is just great. Steps from the Bus line and within short walks of many restaurants. The off street parking is perfect. The room, while clean, is admittedly sparse. The whole house is being renovated but did not disturb us at all. We would stay here again if we ever get back to New Orleans.

Great place to stay while enjoying the city for a couple days! Plenty of towels provided. More privacy than a hotel. Off street parking was comforting. Nice area of town and reasonable Lyft or bus ride to the French Quarter.

Location was excellent

The location was excellent. Loved being on Magazine St: close to bars, interesting shops, restaurants and convenient transportation to the French Quater. The bed was comfortable and the off street parking was great. The unit was clean and our host was very helpful. For negatives, the internet was very slow and the floor had a very rustic feel to it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt it was good value. We would consider staying here again because the location was very convenient.

Clean, convenient. The area is so full of history and beauty. Alex was a wonderful host! Helpful and accommodating. Off street parking was a huge plus. Shower is a bit tiny, but once you figure out how to maneuver in it, it works! Great water pressure and hot!

Very tight parking, luckily we were in a Jeep Wrangler. Place is ok for an inexpensive stay, not recomended for more than 2 people.

Location, location, location!

This property is in the back of a very historic home with lots of atmosphere. It is located within walking distance of all things on Magazine Street, Mardi Gras parades, and the Streetcar stops. There is a bus stop just steps away. Alex is available to help with whatever you need. The property does show its age but was clean and had all we needed for a Mardi Gras weekend. We love New Orleans and will stay with Alex again!
