We had a 4 day stay starting last Thursday ending on Monday. Upon arrival we were indeed greeted by the ower who showed us around the house and garden area. When we first walked in we felt it was quaint and pleasant. Once we unpacked and settled in, we began to notice deficiencies. Although the description of the property says renovated, this must have been done many many years ago. The baseboards and wainscotting borders were black with dirt/dust. The taps in both the kitchen and bathrooms were so well worn you could turn them on and off in both directions. The furniture was well past its good for use date. The chairs and couch were very uncomfortable and well well worn out. The doors all had black streaks from many many fingerprints. The bathroom walls had water stains coming down from all walls as well as the shower walls. These items are so easily repaired/remedied and would make the house so so much more comfortable. The neighbourhood was convenient and close to everything one needs/wants. The bar on the corner is very loud on Friday and Saturday nights, but that is to be expected. The hosts were quick to reply to any e-mail we sent and we really didn't see them for the most part. The courtyard was not usable for our stay as it was a bit chilly, which is too bad. We are hopeful that our suggestions are taken as constructive points only. Thank you.

Small black house in interesting neighborhood
House was interesting and convenient to local sights. Its very near the Roch Market, which is like the french market downtown with local vendors of all different types cuisines to try. It was an easy walk to the spotted cat jazz bar ( about 0.5 miles) and around the corner from bus stops. There is a great food store 0.3 miles walk. The owners were very helpful with any problems we had, and went overboard to help us. Unfortunately the gas fireplace was not working while we were there, which would have made the place even cheerier, since we managed to be in New Orleans for a big freeze. The towels were insanely luxurious. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Cute little black house w/rose colored door
It is just as pictured and described! Perfect spot right outside the French Quarter. We had food, coffee, pharmacy, and bars within walking distance. Tom and Ann were very reponsive to our messages. Tom met us outside the house and showed us around. He also worked with our early arrival and later departure. We had beer and root beer and Zapps chips waiting on us. Coffee and tea are provided. Cable TV. Heaters for cold weather. Comfy matress for our fussy backs. We could walk to the French Qtr in 20 minutes. Quieter neighborhood with typical city noises like sirens and garbage pickup. Loved it! Recommend you trying them out!

Nola Charm!
We really enjoyed our stay here and we loved being close to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter was a short walk away. We also enjoyed the dive bar across the street. Convenient parking always out front.

Lil' house in nawlins
I'm really just reviewing in rebuttal to some of the reviews on here... first off- no bugs! Second the place was not dirty! Third the owners were not intrusive at all, if i didn't go over and introduce myself.. i would have never seen them and the neighborhood wasn't bad! Close to the busline and cheap lyft or uber to wherever you want to go... pretty much in the center of everything. The house is old.. classic new orleans style complete with 15 foot ceilings. Stone/ real wood flooring. Fireplace. Kitchen with everything you may need and a really nice deep bathtub. There was a beautiful little garden area with a little sitting pool that we enjoyed after being out in the blazing heat down there... i agree that the outside furniture was not usable but we didn't need it. That would have been a bonus. It was cozy and comfortable and felt like home. Thank you to ann and tom for a wonderful vacation! ( i guess some folks are just way more bougie than us)

Perfect space for two!
It was the perfect place to relax! It was conveniently located! We absolutely loved the peaceful outside space! Their private courtyard and the plants that surrounded us were amazing. The home was was very clean and cozy! Everything we needed for cooking was provided along with a few snacks and drinks. The hosts were super friendly and made our stay enjoyable! They provided their contact information and responded immediately to any questions we had during our stay. We would definitely stay with them again! Parking was also super easy and convenient! Loved this little home!

Maison coquette à NOLA
Endroit parfait pour nous, bien situé, à distance de marche de tout. La maison est bien équipée, propre et confortable. La cour partagée est invitante et agréable pour débuter la journée ou pour terminer les soirées de façon plus calme... Tom a été très sympathique et discret. Had a great time!
Adorable old Cottage in an old neighborhood. Felt completely safe walking the streets and a short walk to the French Quarter. Tom and Ann the hosts were wonderful to deal with. The only thing I would mention is that the back patio furniture wasn't clean and couldn't be used but we would definitely stay here again.

Decent value for the cost
Good, could use more cleaning in kitchen cabinets, counters. Bed sagged in the middle. Could not get bedroom TV to work. Comfortable, spacious, liked the outdoor areas. Convenient to NOLA attractions, and owner was helpful.

Great location, thoughtful hosts
We had a great stay. The hosts had beverages and chips waiting for us when we arrived. There were plenty of supplies (soaps, paper products, dishes, etc). The hosts were responsive to our questions and lived right next door. The courtyard in the back was a great spot to unwind. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Great spot.

Quiet neighborhood with easy access to bus and small market.
The owners were in constant contact that helped ease our minds . It is a quiet neighborhood with some local flare. House is New Orleans old but felt very homey. Due to weather did not get to enjoy courtyard but it did look very welcoming. Would stay here again !

Charmantes altes Haus in St. Roch
Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Gute Lage: St. Roch Market und Bushaltestelle um die Ecke, zum French Quarter sind es 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Guter Ausgangspunkt, um NOLA kennen zu lernen. Das Haus hat einen wunderschönen Garten, der mit genutzt werden darf. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche.

Great spot in NOLA
Perfect little spot for a couple. To stay. Charming neighborhood with a more local feel than French Quarter or farther south in the neighborhood. Garden spaces are beautiful. The owner live in another building on the property, but we didn't see them after check-in. The neighborhood is pretty safe if you are used to being in a city. The bar across the street wasn't loud at all and we appreciated folks being around when we got home later at night. The place was great for the price!

Comfort and charm in St. Roch
Absolutely lovely private, quiet home strategically located in St. Roch steps away from St.Claude entertainment district and a short drive or scenic walk to our other favorite haunts on Frenchmen and in the French Quarter. The private courtyard and dipping pool is a sweet bonus!

Recent Stay
This place has multiple issues. Super old, not updated at all, floors creak when you walk on them. The TVs don’t work and are about the size of computers. The sheets weren’t clean and couch was completely broken, has a bed in it and sits at an angle, so you’re like falling forward when you’re sitting on it. If you’re looking to be near bourbon st. Its about a 15 min walk through the hood to get there. The owners were nice, left drinks and snacks. Let us leave our bags and were accommodating. It was just really small and hotel would be better for next visit.

Great place to stay in New Orleans!
This is a charming shotgun house in a good location. House was nice and has everything you need. Owners were personable and did not get in the way and had good suggestions as to what you could do. Outside courtyard is a pleasant place to hang out and relax and have a drink. There was a couple of bags of snacks and a few cold drinks in the fridge waiting for us which was a nice surprise. The food hall around the corner is amazing. Great place to go get a coffee in the morning, lunch and or dinner if you like with a full service bar. The dive bar on the corner is a unique place that gets busy, and a bit loud, at night. If you want some fast food there is a Rally's burgers almost in the back yard. There are a couple of convince stores within walking distance and a co-op grocery store. The French Quarter is about a 20 minute walk but a ride share or taxi is probably a better bet. If you are looking for a reasonably priced location near the Quarter with some flair and some good food less than a minute away then this is your place.

Perfect Nola house and location
We loved staying in this area! The hosts were nice and the place was cozy. The only thing is that the place needed a little extra clean. Dust caked on fans and some on the walls. The bedroom smelled as if the last person who stayed, had a stinky dog. Which not a big deal to us but towards the end of our trip it was getting to us. All in all great location and cute place! Loved the fireplace and courtyard, walking distance to French quarter and a lot of good restaurants, bars and shops!

My husband & I booked this place for the Jazz Fest which was changed to October. A few weeks after our reservations were confirmed I emailed the owner for a few more details on the property. A few days later I received a cancellation notice. The owner stated that at the time of our reservation he didn't realize we booked for Jazz Fest. He canceled our reservation so his friends could stay there and attend Jazz Fest. Needless to say we were not to happy.

Cute house in quiet area
Very comfortable and welcoming property! Just right for 1-2 people, and great location for Bywater/Marigny and French Quarter access. Parking was easy, too - very helpful! The shared courtyard was so cute, too. Tom made it easy to check in and out, and felt secure as single woman alone with owners next door.
