During my recent stay, I experienced an issue with front desk service that I would like to share for awareness and improvement.
While traveling to the hotel, I placed a phone call to verify the location. During the conversation, the front desk staff member became frustrated when I had difficulty understanding the directions and abruptly hung up the phone. I found this to be unprofessional.
When I arrived and mentioned the incident during check-in, the same staff member appeared upset, dismissed my concern, and attempted to redirect the conversation while placing blame elsewhere. I calmly stated that hanging up on a guest is unprofessional and that customers should be treated respectfully. The staff member responded defensively, stated she felt disrespected by my comment, and threatened not to check me in.
At that point, I chose to step away to retrieve my glasses from my car in order to complete parking paperwork and made no further comments. I was later checked in without further issue.
Upon going to my assigned room, I noticed the bedroom door was already open. I returned to the front desk to report this, and the staff member confirmed it was a mistake and offered to switch rooms, which I accepted.
I would like to note that the remaining staff were courteous, professional, and very helpful. The overnight front desk staff member was especially kind and professional. Breakfast was excellent, the hotel is very nice, parking is secure, and accessibility is good.
