The Historic Courtyard Cottages boasts two cottages, a courtyard between the two homes with a pool and outdoor shower, all completely fenced in to keep your private party exclusive. Pets are considered, please inquire. In 2022, the Historic Courtyard Cottages was updated with all the comforts of home after a day's adventures of fun in the sun, including all new windows, roof and patio, while still maintaining its original charm.

Location is a critical component to planning the perfect getaway, and when it comes to convenience, the Historic Courtyard Cottages are the ideal place to stay. Conveniently close to all the fun our little beach town has to offer, the Historic Courtyard Cottages are perfectly perched around the corner from the North Causeway drawbridge over the intracoastal waterway, and only steps away from the infamous Flagler Ave. - the Mecca of our beautiful beach town. Take a stroll along the brick sidewalks up the strip of boutiques, surf shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and beach rentals that comprise Flagler Ave. and you’ll be beachfront in less than 10 minutes. That’s right, the Historic Courtyard Cottages are a seamless, scenic few block walk from kicking off your sandals and dipping your toes in the soothing waters of the Atlantic.
Take a tour through the Historic Courtyard Cottages below as we dive into the layout of our little vintage villa.
House 1: When you arrive at the Historic Courtyard Cottages, relaxation starts right up the steps on the front porch of the east house, where a loveseat with two additional chairs, a fan and an ocean breeze will have you immediately feeling at ease as you kick back and begin to relax.
This 1st cottage, the east house, is a two-story home. The first level of cottage 1 offers multiple living rooms & sitting areas, a full kitchen, breakfast nook, half-bath and washer/dryer.
Living room 1 has direct access to the half bath on this level, as well as convenient access to washer/dryer to all guests in your party. This initial common room has a fireplace that is CANDLES ONLY– as the fireplace flue is non-functioning. The candles provided are there for your enjoyment to enhance the cozy ambiance as you enjoy cooling off in the AC after a day full of activities. There is more seating in an east-facing sunroom just off this first reception area, making for more room for everyone in your party to come together, relax and retreat after a long day of venturing around our beautiful beach town.
French doors to living room 2 can be closed for privacy or opened up to share the space with more members of your party. This sitting room hosts a full-sized sleeper sofa perched in front of a smart tv with streaming options. There’s also a ceiling fan to keep you extra cool and comfortable. The TV is mounted along the staircase up to the 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths that comprise cottage 1.
When it's time to hit the hay, head upstairs to one of the many beautiful bedrooms. Here, there are 3 bedrooms total, two of these rooms boast queen beds with en-suite bathrooms. The final bedroom boasts 4 twin beds– one of which is a bunk bed and the other is a daybed with trundle underneath.
Note: both bathrooms upstairs connect to the two queen bedrooms, but also have another separate door to the hallway, making these accessible to guests in bunk bedroom 3. Each of these upstairs ensuite bathrooms have walk-in showers and single vanity sinks.
When the breakfast bell rings, downstairs and around the corner from the living room is the kitchen– fully equipped with stainless steel LG Dishwasher, Samsung electric stove/oven, and stainless-steel Frigidaire french door freezer/fridge. For your convenience, there is also a countertop microwave, toaster, single serve Kurig, and an automatic drip Mr. Coffee pot to get your day started with a fresh morning cup of joe.
Dine with your family and friends in the breakfast nook beside the kitchen, where there’s seating for 6. The breakfast nook is a sunroom setup, with large glass picture windows overlooking the tropical private pool area. From here, you may step outside and enjoy a privatized poolside experience in the Courtyard Cottages outdoor oasis.
Outdoor Features: Our private pool area is completely fenced in and encloses a chic courtyard which connects the cottages, making for the perfect space to convene with every guest in your party. There are plenty of lounge chairs and additional seating, umbrella-shaded picnic tables, 2 BBQ grilles, and 1 outdoor shower. Rinse off the salty air and take a dip in your private pool to wash all your worries away. Grab a good book, or listen to the trees whisper as their leaves dance in the ocean breeze and drift into deep relaxation at your private poolside courtyard. Enjoy this area after hours, as cafe-style string lights drape the fence line to illuminate your outdoor experience after sunset.
NOTE: POOL AREA IS PRIVATE WHETHER YOU RENT COTTAGE 1 OR BOTH, AS COTTAGE 2 DOES NOT RENT SEPARATELY. Lastly, 4 outdoor cameras are in operation for your security - one overseeing the front door of either cottage, and 2 in the courtyard by your personal private pool.
House 2: Cottage 2 (king bedroom in-law suite) IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST; RATES WILL VARY for this additional house which can sleep up to 4 (2 in king bed + 2 on queen sleeper sofa).
This haven of a home is the private master cottage for the king & queen of the courtyard. The wrap-around porch here has plenty of comfortable seating to rest, read, and enjoy a summer's breeze under the shade of cottage 2. This west cottage is a one-level home, well equipped with one master bedroom, its own washer/dryer & full bath featuring a shower tub combo and single pedestal sink vanity. There is also a kitchen that is open to the living room with a Smart TV here for streaming entertainment. Please note, there is no formal dining room in cottage 2, but rather kitchen bar seating for 3.
There are two access points to cottage 2, one accessible from the street and the other from the poolside courtyard. Walk inside either door, both of which open up to the living room and kitchen area this home hosts. The kitchen is open to the sitting room and boasts 3 bar seats, a compact Frigidaire refrigerator with freezer on top (no ice maker), GE stove/oven, and a porcelain double (split) farmhouse sink. There is a countertop microwave, toaster, and an automatic drip Mr. Coffee for your convenience. The vintage bead-board to tin ceiling detail overtop enhances the environment in this space. The master bedroom with 1 king bed is the only private bedroom in this poolside cabana of a cottage, however the pullout sleeper sofa in the living area can accommodate 1-2 additional guests.
All guests are required to sign a contract, house rules compliance agreement, & liability waiver before starting their vacation. Up to 2 pets are considered on a case by case basis. Upon approval a pet fee and a refundable pet deposit is required.
Access to cottage 2 must be pre-approved, & additional charges will ensue; inquire for details. Special events (on-site weddings, receptions, parties, etc.) must also be pre-approved, with venue fees as well. Venue fees may vary based on number of guests and time of year (contingent upon peak premium dates or non-peak times). OVERNIGHT PARKING FOR OVERNIGHT GUEST: A MAXIMUM OF 4 vehicles, THREE INSIDE PARKING AREA of the EAST HOUSE, and ONE PARKING SPOT FOR THE WEST HOUSE. Additional FREE public parking is easily accessible for special events across the street (no overnight public parking).
