Benvenuti al cottage Sandpiper. Sandpiper è idealmente situato nel cuore del villaggio ea pochi passi dalla spiaggia - letteralmente a meno di un minuto a piedi.

Precedentemente cottage di pescatori, Sandpiper offre ora la casa da tutti i comfort che ti aspetteresti di rendere il tuo soggiorno il più rilassante possibile. Lenzuola e asciugamani freschi sono forniti di serie e una cucina / sala da pranzo completamente attrezzata, a pianta aperta include tutti gli elettrodomestici standard che potreste trovare nella vostra casa (compresi piano cottura a gas, forno elettrico, microonde, lavatrice, lavastoviglie, frigorifero e freezer come bene come un tostapane e bollitore).

Il salotto è un posto molto confortevole dove rilassarsi e se stai passando una notte in televisione l'Ultra Smart HDTV da 43 pollici ospita i canali Freesat e tutte le principali app TV tra cui Netflix, Amazon Prime (i tuoi account sono obbligatori) BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub e All4

Al piano superiore, le nostre camere sono fresche e confortevoli per darvi una notte di sonno ristoratore sulla biancheria in cotone. Ci sono anche molti cuscini! La grande camera da letto matrimoniale ha un letto king size e un sacco di spazio per appendere in armadi a muro. Sul retro del cottage sono due camere singole ciascuna con un letto singolo adulto. Queste camere hanno vista sul mare - vai a letto con la finestra aperta e sentirai il mare! Il grande bagno di famiglia ha una grande vasca da bagno e un potente vasca da bagno con doccia.

La posizione è perfetta. Al mattino, se per una volta decidete di non uscire dalle porte del patio sul cortile baciato dal sole per gustare una colazione all'aperto, potete andare al villaggio dove potete lasciare che qualcun altro vi serva in uno dei numerosi caffè eccellenti. Tutti sono a breve distanza a piedi. Il Breakwater Café si affaccia sul mare presso il Newbiggin Marine Centre, che si trova a pochi minuti a piedi dal cottage sul lungomare. Un altro favorito è il caffè italiano di Bertorelli dove è possibile ottenere ottimi caffè e gelato artigianale in un autentico ambiente art deco. I Bertorelli hanno caffè da molte generazioni.

Nelle vicinanze ci sono molti negozi e ristoranti indipendenti. Non avrai bisogno della tua macchina - puoi andare ovunque a piedi. Ci sono un paio di pub molto vicino - The Queens Head è così vicino che potresti quasi passare la testa senza lasciare la casa. È proprio dall'altra parte della strada. Un piccolo pub caratteristico e tranquillo, ideale per gli ultimi ordini! Girare a destra fuori del cottage e una piccola passeggiata lungo la strada è il 'The Last Pub Before Norway' di Cresswell Arms. Passerai davanti a un ottimo ristorante indiano.

Lasciato fuori dal cottage nel centro del villaggio, troverai ottimo pesce e patatine tra gli altri piatti da asporto e un mini market Co-op molto ben fornito. Ci sono anche un paio di ottimi fornai locali per la tua pagnotta mattutina.

Tutto questo è a meno di 5 minuti a piedi dal cottage.

Location was so beautiful, a minutes walk to the beach and 2 minutes to co-op, coffee shop and chip shop. I was worried there would be no parking available but there was always plenty of parking right outside the house. Accommodation was spotless, plenty of space and so peaceful. Thank you.

Sandpiper cottage is spacious and comfortable. It was quiet and peaceful. It is minutes from the beach and the lovely promenade. There are lots of places in the town to eat. It is in a great area for visiting lots of interesting places. I highly recommend this cottage.

Sparkling clean and spacious. Well-equipped and the local grocery store is only about a block away. We loved sitting on the beach each evening. So much to see and do nearby: York, Hadrian’s Wall, The Angel of the North, and our absolute favorite was Holy Island. The host was very kind and helpful with recommendations. We had an amazing vacation and would surely return!

From booking the cottage to leaving today, the process has been great. So much help from the owner on places to go which really helped plan our week. Would recommend Amble and Morpeth for days out - great shops and places to eat. My husband and daughter loved the rowing boats in Morpeth. The Queens Head pub over the road was amazing for food and drinks - so friendly too. Also loved The Artisan Tearoom for breakfast. Food was delicious and great value. Would recommend Caffè Bertorelli for ice creams. The cottage itself was comfortable and clean. Only negative we found was not enough glasses, but everything else was brilliant. We are all hoping to return as loved it there and loved Newbiggin.

From the initial booking through to leaving the accommodation the communication from John and Heather has been excellent. The property itself is so close to the beach you can feel the sand in your toes even before you step outside! A great location to explore Northumberland and Newcastle. The property is very comfortable and has all the modern day essentials. The welcome cake and provisions were greatly received after a long journey and the lounge is a great ‘chill’ area after busy days out and about. Newbiggin itself is quiet and relaxing with local amenities. A great accommodations and excellent hosts. Highly recommend.

This wasn’t our first stay in Northumberland but it was our first encounter with Newbiggin-By-the-Sea and it certainly won’t be our last - what a relaxing, and friendly little town it is. Sandpiper Cottage was clean and spacious, and equipped with dishwasher, fridge, separate freezer and washing machine. We had an issue with the washing machine and kettle but John was very responsive and quickly replaced the kettle. He offered to replace the washing machine but we chose to let him deal with that after our departure. The hob and oven was an ‘all in one’ combo (as opposed to gas hob and electric oven per the description), and we were surprised that the hob and oven required matches, as the automatic ignition was inoperable. There was a minimal number of cooking pots and pans but enough to make a simple meal. We would have found oven gloves helpful as well as coasters (only 2 supplied), and some place mats for the table. The kitchen has lots of storage, and like the bathroom, the decor is rather ‘tired’ but functional and both extremely spacious. We found the cottage comfortable and clean. A number of dishwasher tabs, and bottle of washing up liquid were left for our use. There were plenty of towels, and good linen. That said, we were a tad disconcerted in these Covid times that no cleaning products had been left for our use, but luckily we had brought some of our own. The WiFi was good and strong and what an added bonus to have a smart TV so we could use our Netflix/Amazon accounts. The owner had also left us a bottle of milk, a cake and tea & coffee bags for our arrival, which was also appreciated. We had no trouble parking right outside the cottage. During our stay, the pub opposite - The Queens Head - was closed due to renovations but we heard no noise from the builders. As an aside to the cottage, we found the fish & chips from Ladhars, and the Indian meal from Shaj Tandoori, to be excellent. Both are a quick walk from the house. All in all, we found the cottage comfortable and Newbiggin was a big hit for us and we hope to return.

Sandpiper Cottage is a gem. Spacious, spotlessly clean and well appointed - looks almost as new. The large kitchen was perfect for cooking for ourselves (it being partial-lockdown). On street parking outside the front of the house (which is directly opposite the front of the Queen’s Head pub). There is a small vegetable/fruit shop (cash only) and a friendly Co-op. Sadly the fishmonger is no more, neither is the local bakery (although there is a shop selling bakery goods). If you would like to buy fresh fish, head to the harbour at the tiny village of Amble (about 7 miles north) where there is an outlet selling to the public almost straight from the boat. Access to the main roads north and south is quick and easy, with easy driving for the most part.

We had a very nice stay in Sandpiper Cottage. The location is excellent with everything you could need within 5 minutes walk. The cottage is very clean and comfortable and we loved being close to the promenade and the beautiful beach. Would definately recommend for a coastal holiday in this lovely area. Many of Northumberlands other attractions.are within an hours drive and there are plenty of walks nearby.

We had a lovely week staying at Sandpiper. The house was lovely and it was great that it had three bedrooms so our teenagers didn't have to share a room! Perfect location - 2 minutes from the beach and near to all the local amenities. Fast communications with the owners - thank you very much! Check-in was easy with the key safe outside. Thank you for the cake, which was very welcome after a long journey! The house had everything we needed and we would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

We had a super break. This is a lovely property and we enjoyed the easy access to the beach (1 min walk out of back gate) and to the high street with small supermarket, bakeries and takeaways. The cottage had all the facilities you need including a well equipped kitchen. Would thoroughly recommend.

Ideal house and location very convenient for sea and basic shops. Very comfortable although single bed very soft and bouncy and tight for an adult. Kitchen needed oven gloves and lots more table mats and coasters.

Stayed over Easter weekend for 3 nights. Used it as a base to visit Holy Island & Alnwick Castle. Very pleasant dealing with John (the owner). Cake on first day was a welcome surprise.

Sandpiper cottage is in a great location if you are looking for somewhere close to the beach as it is only a few steps away from the back door. We have just spent a great week there. It was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. Beds were clean and comfortable and lovely colour scheme throughout. Lovely big bathroom too with bath and shower and a small but sunny seating area in the back yard. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and the welcome card and afternoon tea stuff was a lovely touch .

We really felt at home in this well-presented and welcoming cottage. It is ideally located for walks along the promenade or further afield and, although it is on a street with pubs, shops, eateries, it is very quiet and we slept very well. Very caring owners who left a cake and a card to welcome us on our arrival: lovely touch. Highly recommended.
