tolles Hostel mit älteren Einrichtungen und Jugendherbergcharakter vorallem in der Küche das Hostel hat aber eine super Lage!! und man kann kostenlos Surfboards ausleihen

Alles leider etwas heruntergekommen, für ein Hostel ist Preis-Leistung allerdings in Ordnung. Die kostenlosen Fahrräder sind zwar ein netter Service, aber nicht zu gebrauchen (Bremsen, Pedale kaputt). Großes Minus: der Ventilator im Zimmer. Sobald es wirklich warm ist, fühlt sich das Zimmer schnell wie eine Sauna an.

This is a charming building and the staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. It is in a very good location close to the city and the beach.

Easy access from newcastle interchange train station to property via light rail, i was checking in after hours, staff really helpful over the phone, pleasant single room, great price , nice and close to beach /cafes

Good place but looking a bit run down. Toilets and showers are old. No aircon in the rooms, especially bad in the 10 bed dorm

Nice hostel well located
Very well located, 3-4 min walk from the public transport, 5 min walk from the beach, 8 min from the grocery store. Overall clean, kitchen well equipped, staff were nice. The only negative thing would be that the wifi was only working in the living room, and if you were lucky, in your dorm if it was very close to the living room.

Good base, nice atmosphere
The place is clean with good facilities and a nice atmosphere. Minutes from shops, places to eat and the beaches. It’s an old building so can be noisy- windows rattle, pipes scream, floorboards creak and the rooms need to have slow shutters attached- doors slam all night. Good communal areas and friendly, helpful staff.

There were plenty of spaces to relax in no matter whether you wanted to be social or quiet. The place was very well ventilated, easing anxiety around Covid. One of the voluntary cleaners played very loud music as she cleaned and I wasnt in the mood for a confrontation to tell her to turn it down (has she not heard of headphones?). The location was amazing, quick walk to beach and light rail. We would stay again.

Great location. Too many stairs for elderly or disabled customers. Staff not overly friendly.

Such a great atmosphere here with Chesterfield lounges, fireplace and old world charm. Value for money for sure! Can't beat the location either. Located beachside and within walking distance of all the sights. Would definitely stay again :)

Prime location
Pros: prime location, steps away from the beach and tram stop, big and clean kitchen, huge common area, heater in the dorm was a big plus. Cons: very quiet, lacks the typical youth hostel atmosphere, lots of 40+ people staying. It would be nice to have more toilets on the ground floor. People staying long-term in dorms not willing to socialise with other guests (a common issue in YHA hostels in Australia), but I understand this is not the hostel's fault.

Stayed for the night and was blown away by what i got for the price, my booking got mixed up on the system and i was given a room to myself for no extra charge! Staff was amazing and friendly and the atmosphere of the whole place was wonderful and welcoming. 10/10 would stay there again.

Un peu en retrait, mais dans un endroit assez tranquille. La réception est souvent fermée, ce qui n'est pas pratique. Chambre avec beaucoup d'espace et confortable. Cuisine plutôt bien équipée.

Das Hostel ist ganz okay, dürfte aber etwas sauberer sein. Es liegt relativ weit weg von Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und auch von der Greyhound Haltestelle.

Der Service ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Hostel liegt nah am Strand. Das Zimmer war gemütlich und das ganze Hostel hatte eine schöne Atmosphäre mit großen und entspannten Aufenthaltsbereich, der wunderbar weihnachtlich geschmückt war.

Great enjoyable stay!
Lovely place to stay, I will be returning in a couple of months - great atmosphere and area, easily accessible to buses, local suburbs, beaches etc. Offer great activities at the hostel too. Room was perfectly clean and WiFi was great. Would recommend!

Great hostel, but very rude backpackers
The Germans sitting outside from 1-3 am being as loud as possible actually ruined the whole stay for me. I don’t care about hanging out and it is a hostel after all but some common curtesy would be nice. Not all of us don’t have somewhere to be in the morning!! And because it’s so hot can’t close the windows to help block out any noise.
