Vietato fumare.. Oak Cottage è pieno di carattere con il suo soggiorno con travi a vista e letto a baldacchino. Rilassati in uno scenario spettacolare e drammatico in questa parte gloriosamente incontaminata di Northumberland. Situati nel Parco nazionale di Northumberland e godendo di viste panoramiche sulla Riserva Naturale Nazionale Whitelee Fell, i cottage sono ex case di pastori nella fattoria di pecore del proprietario, rinnovate secondo uno standard molto buono e mantenendo un sacco di carattere. Oak Cottage e Birch Cottage hanno i soffitti con travi a vista del soggiorno e tutti e tre hanno caminetti inglenook con stufe multicombustibile per un'atmosfera calda e accogliente e docce a multigetto nel bagno. Ci sono telecamere per la fauna selvatica che alimentano le immagini in diretta direttamente sulla TV a schermo piatto in ogni cottage, in modo da poter guardare barbagianni, tassi e altri animali selvatici. La zona è ricca di fauna selvatica e ideale per gli escursionisti. Whitelee Farm è una base idilliaca per esplorare le mura romane, Lindisfarne, il Castello di Alnwick, il Kielder Forest Park e i confini scozzesi. Newcastle ed Edimburgo sono facilmente raggiungibili in auto. Shopping a Otterburn e Jedburgh, entrambi a 15 minuti di distanza.
    Oak Cottage può essere prenotato insieme a Birch Cottage (15841) e Rowan Cottage (80119) per ospitare fino a 13 persone.

We had an lovely holiday based at Oak Cottage.

We had an lovely holiday based at Oak Cottage. The cottage was ideal for us to explore the area and of Kielder Forest. Due to the COVID 19 restrictions items within the cottage were limited, however this did not spoil our experience. The garden was a little overgrown at the time of our visit, but this enhanced all of the bird life that was in abundance. The hosts were very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome to their cottage. We will certainly be visiting again, for the wonderful dark skies and beautiful scenery. The cottage had everything we wanted, comfort, peacefulness and beautiful surroundings and views. The interior was spacious apart from the dining area which is small. In many ways we would have preferred at table to eat at in the living room, which is very large. John and Jill have spent a lot of time rewilding the area, planting trees and bushes to attract wildlife. There are therefore loads of birds around - and rabbits pop out from time to time. The wildcams picked up the owl leaving and returning, and fish in the pond. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Oak cottage is owned by 2 really nice farmers.

Oak cottage is owned by 2 really nice farmers. But the cottage needs a few things changing. The 3 piece suite has no bottom in so you feel as though you have sunk! We found it difficult to get up from. The four poster bed was white metal with a tacky white net. Admittedly I didn't see any pictures on the site when I booked it as the starry nights attracted me. But the sky at night is amazing.

Brilliant cottage, quiet peaceful location, lots of birds and the live web cam is fantastic. Saw barn owls on the cam -so interesting. Dark starry skies a plus. Nearest pub 6 miles though and nearest town 20 mins drive. So bear that in mind.
