Fuga privata perfetta per famiglie con animali vicino a Nonno Mtn, Blue Ridge Pkwy

Pioneer Creekside Paradise perfetto per famiglie e animali domestici. Situato a soli 2 km dalla città, generi alimentari, ristoranti, CVS e Red Box. Abbiamo conservato e protetto questa proprietà in una bella conca piena di allori, rododendri, fauna di tutti i tipi e grandi alberi secolari per insidiare le strade di ghiaia in tutta la depressione. Ci sono molti torrenti di ruscelli e sorgenti che fluiscono anche attraverso il cavo. Incoraggio i nostri ospiti a dipingere una roccia e a nasconderlo nel ramo affinché altri possano trovarla mentre giocano nell'acqua o cercano l'oro e le gemme. Abbiamo anche sentieri per passeggiate e una caccia al tesoro nel libro degli ospiti e incoraggiamo ad esplorare la nostra proprietà.
La nostra casa di famiglia ha oltre 100 anni e dorme 10 con (3) Queens (4) Twins (1) bagno completo (1) mezzo bagno, lavatrice / asciugatrice, cucina completa con tutti i fixins, Den con organo elettrico, pietra di sapone caminetto a legna, TV via cavo Direct 90+, lettore DVD con film, servizio internet WIFI, telefono per chiamate locali e molti giochi da tavolo di epoche vecchie e nuove. La cabina è riscaldata da un monitor elettrico dell'olio, camino, riscaldamento elettrico e battiscopa. Aria condizionata dalla natura con finestre aperte / schermi e ventilatori. Portico anteriore con rocker e un'altalena per ascoltare il torrente con una cascata nel cortile anteriore, un tetto di latta, buca per il fuoco all'aperto, griglia a carbone, abbastanza tranquillo e appartato su una strada sterrata. (La trazione integrale o la trazione integrale sono necessarie nella stagione invernale per raggiungere la cabina). Abbiamo il nostro grande stagno sulla proprietà fornita per il vostro piacere di pesca e abbiamo pali per il vostro uso in cabina. Offriamo un sacco di strade e sentieri per passeggiate, escursioni, ed esplorare. (mappa nel libro degli ospiti) La nostra cavità è di proprietà privata di Calhoun's e possediamo 90 acri di questa cavità con quattro case sul nostro terreno non di cui si può vedere da questa cabina di noleggio. Ti invitiamo a goderti la nostra piccola fetta di paradiso. Abbiamo fatto molti ricordi per tutta la vita qui mentre torniamo alle origini della vita e trovando il significato di Self Serenity. Quasi tutti quelli che visitano non vedono l'ora di tornare e ora abbiamo parecchie famiglie che hanno reso questo posto la loro tradizione di famiglia per il legame e la separazione dal mondo reale. Speriamo che vi piaccia tanto quanto abbiamo e non vediamo l'ora di incontrarvi presto.

very old cabin

I liked the cabin even though it was small and old I did not like that it only had one bathroom and that it has to put new appliances and put televisions in the rooms because there is only one and wifi was incorrect

Great Stay!

We had a fantastic time. Close to everything - Beech Mtn, Sugar, Hiking trails, grocery store and Grandfather Mountain. It is an older cabin so there are some quirks about it but nothing that impacted our stay in any way. Thank you for having us!

Love this place

We loved this week at this house. The sounds of nature uninterrupted was great. The house brought back great childhood memories of grandma's and the front porch rockers were great for early morning devotion time.

Oldie but not a goody

The property definitely lives up to its lable as the oldest homestead in Avery County, and it is more than showing its age. If you are a larger individual, older individual or one with balance issues, this IS NOT a place for you do to some serious structural issues. The floors are spongy and slanted (particularly the kitchen) entrance and deck. The tub leaks, the toilet leaked and there is also a critter issue, such as mice which created a huge issue for the ladies of the bunch. Dont plan on venturing too far from the old house, as there is a large list of "don't do's" on the property. The best feature was the flowing creek and quiteness of the area, but that was outweighed by the other issues. The property definity needs a whole lot of TLC to make it safe and habitable.

Rest for the Soul

My family and I really enjoyed our time here. The location is very secluded and calming. My girls enjoyed their water play in the stream directly in front of the house. They also enjoyed fishing in the pond located just down the road. This trip however was mostly for my Dad which is currently struggling with his health. (Heart failure) While physically he couldn't do much adventuring, he really enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching his family find rocks and play in the water. He called this placed "rest for the soul". Mrs. Nancy also came down to see us and is such a sweetheart. These house, Mrs. Nancy, and her family are real and genuine. I'm so thankful for all the experiences we had here. I would highly recommend this place for anyone seeking to find rest for their soul.

Beautiful Location

I can't say enough positive things about the location if you are one looking for the beauty and peacefulness of location. Sitting on the front porch and listening to the creek and waterfall flowing is heavenly. Members of our group enjoyed biking and hiking without ever having to take the car anywhere. The house is a rustic, older, cozy home with lots of its own charm. One should note that because it is rustic and old the floor plan is unique with only one bedroom (it's upstairs) truly having privacy (one door). If one does not use the twin bedroom connected to the master then it can also be considered private other than the bathroom hall door that does not lock, but again, remember this is a rustic and older home. The only thing I scored the house low on was cleanliness for things like the kitchen drainer rack being icky (but it is the color black and most probably wouldn't notice the grime), the fireplace being left with an abundant amount of ashes piled up, and the condition of the bed pillows; when checking out one is required to wash all the towels and to strip the beds of the sheets and put them in a pillowcase, which is when I noticed the very yellowed and stained pillow I had obviously been sleeping on (along with other guest bed pillows); this did make my stomach turn. So, I strongly encourage one to bring one's own pillows. Again, the view is beautiful and peaceful, and the house is rustic, older, cozy, and affordable. Bring your own pillows, bleach the dish drainer rack and tray, and make sure everyone knows that if a bathroom door is shut they shouldn't try to come in to avoid walking in on one another (there are slide locks on two of the doors, but they do not line up evenly to really lock). Please don't take this as predominantly negative; the location and coziness of the house makes up for some challenges and the owners are very friendly. We met Nancy's father Doyle (a man around eighty whose father was raised in the cabin) and he is the epitome of that friendly southern charm. If you decide to embark on this adventure we do believe that overall you will be pleased.

The owner stated the bees had been exterminated. There is an active hive on the cabin & not treated!

Owner stated bee hive was exterminated and bee problem taken care of but that was not the case. We couldn’t figure out how the bees kept getting inside and emailed the owner the first day. She sent her father over the next morning and he made it very clear the bees were protected and couldn’t be treated because they are pollenators. He let us know they had never been exterminated. The owner lied to us!!! We would’ve never booked the cabin had we known a very active bee hive was between the house and chimney. My mother is allergic to bees. So if the canin belongs to the bees then don’t rent it to people and lie! Not happy. Would not recommend.

Beautiful location

I may be biased. My family use to own this cabin. Enjoyed my visit remembering lots of good times. Being over 100 yrs old you should know this cabin isn’t one of those fancy places however the beauty out ways all else.

Bees in the attic

We had a problem with the smell of the die off from a bee colony that had been taken care of earlier in the week by an exterminator. Unfortunalty the smell of the die off very strong. Nancy was wonderful and responsive and refunded the nights we were unable to stay.

Best chill getaway

With the recent pandemic and sheltering in place our family needed a quiet, secluded relaxing getaway to refresh, recharge and be together. We had 2 sets of parents , a teen and a tween. (Ou bubble ) We loved staying at Nancy’s place. Rustic, full of history and so enjoyable. We sat around the fire pit day and night visiting and chatting and hiking and just being together. We weren’t looking for fancy, just charm and comfort. We played outside most of the time but the little den was cozy early in the morning. We loved our adventure. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived. If you like quaint and unique, full of charm and personality this is the property for you. Everyone said it was the absolute best. We were luck to be able to bring our doodles who played bark and chase and bark and chase all around the property. If you want fancy there are other places but if your focus is on being together and feeling like you have lived a piece of history this is the place. Everyone has asked when we are going back. I hope it’s soon. We didn’t do too much cooking but the house was well equipped with what we needed and we could have done more but we were taking a vacation from that too! Thank you Nancy for sharing Calhoun hollow with us!

Perfect

I have stayed here before and could not wait to share it with my family. It is wonderful, peaceful, and feels like visiting your grandma. We enjoyed the windows open and the cool fresh air and the fire pit at night. No traffic so there was no noise and no interruptions of the sounds of nature. Can't wait to go back again

Tranquil getaway

We stayed here several times and love getting away from the hustle of life. Plenty of beds for our family and the home and hollow have such a beautiful history. My husband and boys loved fishing at the pond. Owner is so sweet and attentive. This is an old home, so don’t expect perfection, but that adds to the charm and experience!
