Country home stay
Alison was such a kind and generous host. The cottage was a perfect country break that was peaceful and homely. The cottage had everything we needed and was a good base to explore cradle mountain from. We picnicked in the yard overlooking mountain ranges, and my girls loved exploring the area and finding all sorts of animals. Would happily recommend Buttons Cottage for a quiet stay to help life slow down and connect with family.

Beautiful quiet country setting- loved the sheep & cattle in the back yard- Alison is a wonderful hostess- she even made us homemade croissants- The best I’ve ever had- she shared her recipe- I hope mine turn out half as good as hers! The cottage was very clean- loved the linen sheets- so much attention to detail- loved visiting with Alison- I wish it wasn’t so far away- I’d definitely be back- ❤️

Hidden gem
Button's cottage is a true hidden gem. At first you may think you're going the wrong way to reach the property, especially the gravel road at the end, but once the forest opens up to the 500 acres of Gaunt's Homestead, with rolling hills, bubbling brooks, waterfalls and platypuses, it will all make sense. Even though the actual cottage is from 1886, it has been well restored and the bathroom in particular is very modern. Great amenities and touches through the house. Highly recommended and Alison is a wonderful host!

Unforgettable Rustic Retreat: Get away from the chaos and reconnect with your loved ones
My family and I recently stayed at this lovely cottage, which was built in 1886, and it was a truly unforgettable experience. The property has a rustic and timeless feel to it that transported us back in time. Buttons Cottage was spacious and comfortable, and my wife and our two teenage daughters adored its rustic charm. Jedi, our family dog, also enjoyed the freedom of the property and had a great time exploring the surrounding land. The location was remote and peaceful, allowing us to truly disconnect and relax from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our host was extremely accommodating, helpful, and always willing to answer any questions we had. "We would strongly recommend this property to anyone seeking a peaceful and rustic retreat."

A lovely place to relax and unwind! Alison is the perfect host with all the details on the history of the property and the surrounding area. It is also perfect for pet dogs with a large fenced area-dog heaven!

Beautiful cottage in scenic surroundings
We loved our stay in Buttons Cottage, beautifully renovated but still retaining the historic flavour of the cottage. A peaceful and relaxed stay in the countryside, with the added interest of a working sheep farm next door. Alison was a perfect host, ensuring that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

A little piece of paradise
Lovely well set up cottage. Everything you need here. We were lucky enough to take our small dog and what a lovely location it is for walking. Lucky for us it was also lambing time and we got to pat so many of them. Alison is a welcoming host and I must recommend Kaydale Gardens (3kms away) which is dog friendly and makes the best cakes too. Something for every season at Buttons cottage.

Button Cottage serenity
Thank you to Alison for making our short trip worth it. The cottage was well equipped, clean and most important of all, dog friendly. We enjoyed the birdlife, watching the live stock let the world go by in the little sitting nook. Explored the canyon and the falls - just a good place to recharge and reconnect. Thank you Alison

Relaxing Secluded Getaway
Had such an amazing time at Button's Cottage. In such an amazing scenic location. Beautiful walks and area around the cottage. We were so warmly welcomed into a beautiful cottage with everything ready for out arrival. Will definitely recommend and come back.

Cosy rural getaway

Absolute serenity
From basking in the sun, walking through stunning rain forest to waterfalls, sleeping snug and warm in a cosy bed, and enjoying all the thoughtful touches provided by the very kind and generous host ( who provided me with a slice of delicious lasagne when I arrived late and supperless), this farm stay was sublime.

Lovely, simple stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Button Cottage. It was very comfortable and Alison made sure we were looked after during our stay. Would highly recommend it, especially if you are looking for a dog friendly stay - Lily loved it.

Delightful haven
Spent several days in this beautifully appointed and comfortable cottage. A cosy haven at the end of each day out and about. Furnished and equipped very thoughtfully and to a high standard. Also appreciated the very generous provisioning for breakfast. Highly recommend this property as a base for exploring Tassie's northwest or just somewhere to kick back and enjoy the fabulous views.

Button’s Cottage is a delightful self contained heritage farm cottage. We loved the accommodation, the nearby walks, the lambs, spring bulbs, the ability to bring our dog, the cooked breakfast ingredients, and nearby spectacular Leven Canyon. A great place to stay.

Gorgeous Cottage in amazing part of Tasmania
Staying at this cosy, cute, comfortable and character-filled cottage made the amazing Leven Canyon, Black Bluff easy striking distance, but the cottage was also a wonderful destination in itself. Away from the bussle of town, the experience of staying there was fun, very relaxing and the rural surrounds were incredibly beautiful. The whole family loved our three nights there.

This excellent property is well suited for the exploration we wanted to do. It is very clean and cosy with good appliances, comfy beds. Molly, my dog enjoyed her visit and there was plenty of room around the cottage for her to exercise. Alison is a very lovely hostess. Highly recommended.

Country bliss
The button cottage was just that, as cute as a button. The property was situated on farm property nestled between forests and open paddocks. Surround you were cows sheep and amazing bird life which my two boys loved. The house it’s self was full of character, clean and lovely and warm. Our host was lovely and supplied us with orange juice, milk and eggs and a array of breakfast choices. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you

Beautiful, isolated farm stay
Alison made us feel so very welcome, the house is cosy and very comfortable. She provided everything we needed for breakfast, and when I needed an extra baking dish For cooking dinner, she gave me one from her own kitchen. Buttons cottage is within just a couple of minutes walk of pristine rainforest hiking trails, waterfalls-Tasmanian nature trails as good or better than anything we’ve seen, and hardly any other people. Just gorgeous. Just be sure to know that the nearest general store Is a 25 minute drive away!

Country Retreat
Alison has a delightful little cottage with comfortable beds (my most important thing) and all amenities including a lovely sunroom where we whittled away the hours disengaging from technology and playing card/board games. A great way to unwind. Alison was very friendly and extremely accommodating which was greatly appreciated. Thank you so much Alison.

Charming cottage with great views
We loved our stay at buttons cottage. Alison was a great host and made us feel very welcome. It was great to be able to take our dog along with us. Just wish we could have stayed a few more days, 3 nights was not enough to explore the surrounding areas and visit family in the area. We did see platypus in the dam which was very exciting. Thank you Alison for a great visit- we will be back just to see the Leven Canyon.
