“This was one of the most incredible experiences we had in Japan. The staff and service level are extraordinary. The 8 or 10 course meals at dinner and breakfast were an unbelievable experience. We traveled with young kids with varying degrees of adventurous eating and the staff was able to prepare dishes that were more western (mini sausages, fries, sunny side eggs). “I love the Tanbo no Yu! I can tell that its being fixed up more everytime I come here! This time, really enjoyed the pure stream bath it was very warm and a comfortable place to chat with my husband. The food was delicious and healthy with many flavors and unlimited hokuriku rice! I definitely be back again!”

“Amazing location for Shirakawa Go but away from the crowds up in the mountains the staff are great, food amazing, rooms basic but spotless. The onsen are great and the free guided walk was perfect. The shuttle bus to Shirakawa Go is brilliant, we were able to choose our drop off and pick up times.”

“The room did not reflect the picture shown. it was significantly smaller. The chairs in the picture fold out to be the beds. We were very disappointed and left after one night as we arrived late and there was no other option.”

“It was surprisingly comfortable and attractive. Also quite functional. I definitely think about coming back to this place next time I be in this area. Meantime you have to know that the property is not staffed after 7 PM or 8 PM and you have to check in by unlocking the key code provided by the owner. Still it was very efficient.”

“７人家族、3世代(80歳代も3人含む)で2部屋利用。新緑と清流が素晴らしい景観でした。GW価格で割高料金でしたが、それでもお得！朝夕バイキングは評判通り凄い品数で、旬の工夫されたメニュー豊富！デザートも全部美味♪皆さん大変満足されていました。温泉も景色、温度共に良し。自然派ハーブティーやアイスキャンディーもいい。和室と洋室利用しましたが、布団はひいてありました。また、ゲーム部屋が最高！！チェックインしてすぐ翌日分まで予約しに行ったので、全種類満喫。特にモルックがあってビックリ、予約が無しで無料で色んなゲームあり。 2つだけ残念な点は、和室の丸い照明が低い位置にあって、頭が触れたらホコリが落ちてきたのが「うわっ！」となった点と、せっかくいい旅館なのに、他レビュー同様スリッパだけ残念。マイスリッパ持参が良いかも。清掃員の方や調理場など裏方含め、本当にお世話になりました。また利用します。 ”

“A beautiful place and a real honour to stay here as a westerner. Robes and amenities were provided and the baths were excellent including an outdoor area. Very helpful and friendly staff made us feel welcomed. There was even a mini stamp rally around the building which was great for us and our teen child to explore. The building interior was like a maze with beautiful objects and resting places all around and overlooking the garden.”
