  • Bristow's Barn is a gorgeous listed thatched property, sympathetically renovated last year and very well designed with the comfort of both humans and dogs in mind. The views over the quiet fields are just what you need for a relaxing break away in the Norfolk countryside. Downstairs bedroom and bathroom help multi generations enjoy a holiday together. Unlimited dogs are welcome to stay free of charge.

    Bristows Barn

    Our second stay at this lovely property. Lovely peaceful location and fully secure garden for the dogs. Love that all the East Ruston Cottages are truly dog friendly and no limits on where dogs can go in the properties! Would recommend this property.

    Excellent week away

    A fabulous property, very clean, spacious, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and everything you need for the dogs. Wonderful welcoming tray and fresh flowers. Excellent location for local walks and nearby beaches are only 15 minutes in the car. Plenty of supermarkets in the locality plus farm shops. We couldn’t have been made to feel any more welcome and would love to go back.

    Second visit to Bristow’s Barn

    This was our second visit to Bristow’s Barn and we have stayed in seven other ERC’s. Another great week was had by all of us and the barn was everything we wanted again. We love the location as it is so quiet but also a short drive to the coast and shops.

    An outstanding property

    This is an outstanding property … exactly what was needed for our large party + 4 dogs. We had an impromptu ‘dog agility’ event in the spacious garden (soon overtaken by two small children!) and the dining and sitting areas are perfect for a large party. Walks from the door and dog friendly beaches only 10 minutes - what more could we ask for?

    Great place

    A lovely place to stay for us and so dog friendly. The barn is spacious and the welcome pack much appreciated. The location means it's easy to walk from the door and also not far to drive to the north and east coast.

    Fantastic dog friendly property - so much secure outside space, including the courtyard! Quiet location, barely a car passes the property overnight and only a handful through the day!

    Superb dog friendly barn

    This was the second time we have stayed at Bristows Barn, and it didn’t disappoint. The barn was so clean and we felt at home straight away. The owner was so welcoming, and has thought of everything to make this a truly dog friendly place to stay. The location is wonderful, so close to weavers way, and a short drive to the lovely beaches. Can’t wait to book again.

    Back Again!

    Second year running we’ve stayed here. Great location, Stalham just 5mins away in the car or nice 30min walk down the weaver way. The barn is spacious, modern and comfortable, the dogs love it! We will definitely be back for a third time!

    Beautiful Barn in Wonderful Location.

    What a beautiful place Bristol’s Barn is. There is Everything you could need inside, lovely welcome pack . Small but very securely fenced and private garden . Fantastic dog walks on the doorstep, we loved Weavers Way .

    Bristow's Barn East Ruston

    We have just come back from a stay at Bristow's Barn with our daughter, 3 grandchildren and 4 dogs. A beautifully restored barn with plenty of room for us all. Ideal location, very short walk to Weavers Way and short drive to Bacton Woods, Bacton beach and Cart Gap. Stephen very kindly let us check in early which was very helpful.

    Perfect for a quiet break away in the countryside

    We loved the location- so quiet and a short stroll to Weavers Way and to Stalham. Big property - it was just two of us and the dogs so we only used downstairs. Dogs loved the grassy garden and the big courtyard. Very welcoming and friendly owner. We really enjoyed our stay at Bristows Barn.

    Perfect…dog friendly … fabulous Barn…wonderful location

    Bristows Barn is a wonderful place to stay with your family and dogs. Totally dog friendly, lots of space for everyone. The separate courtyard and garden are great for chilling any time of day. Weavers way is just across the lane, so quiet, we hardly saw any other walkers. Stephen the host was so helpful, we can’t wait to come back again in November.

    Home from Home

    4 beagles, 4 adults and plenty of space. We loved our week at Bristow's Barn. Very relaxing and conveniently located to reach facilities, shops and so many beaches. Stephen was quick to respond to our questions. Only recommendation is for a few more pots and pans in the kitchen.

    Beautiful Property

    We have been visiting Norfolk with ERC for over 10 years & have watched Bristows Barn being restored so it was lovely to finally get to stay & it didn't disappoint! Huge spotless rooms, a beautiful kitchen & very much appreciated welcome pack. 2 outside areas for dogs (a large patio & a separate lawned area) & we had gorgeous weather so could sit out on the comfortable sun loungers. Overall we have had a lovely week in a very beautiful property in our favourite place.

    Quiet and Relaxing

    We had high expectations of Bristow’s Barn based on the photos and it did not disappoint. The location was perfect for us, it was quiet with excellent dog walks from the door. The barn was comfortable, warm and well equipped. The kitchen had everything you would want if you planned to cook rather than eat out. We very much look forward to our return visit later on this year.

    Fantastic stay

    What a perfect week we had in Norfolk made even better by the fabulous property we stayed in. Extremely dog friendly, we took five dogs and the fully enclosed garden was excellent as was everything else provided. We had one small issue with hot water one morning,resolved within half an hour. We will definitely return.

    A perfect retreat

    Sue from East Ruston Cottages helped identify this as a suitable property (away from probable fireworks; secure garden for little and big dogs) - not only was it absolutely perfect with no firework noise at all and a lovely garden for dogs and humans, non-slip flooring, crates and stair gates provided, the Barn had everything you need for a comfortable holiday - a fully equipped kitchen, space, plentiful hot water, even throws for the settees, dog towels and toys. It was conveniently situated for local facilities in Stalham and lovely beaches and walks are a short distance away. Perfect accommodation in a lovely setting, definitely recommended!

    Relaxing stay with a reactive dog

    We had the best time! We have a dog reactive dog and she was able to relax and enjoy walks around the area. She's not much of a beach pooch but there are plenty of walks from the doorstep that are quiet and just great walks. The barn itself is really clean, has everything you need. Plenty of space in the kitchen, beds are super comfy. Shower was really great and powerful too.

    Family time with rescue dogs all with different triggers

    Beautiful barn very well equipped lots of room even with 5 big dogs lots of great quiet walks close to the barn short drive to our favourite beaches will definitely book again if they will have us, even our escape artist Jack Russell couldn’t find a way out of garden. My only sad face was the internet connection not brilliant normally would have loved that but it was TT RACE WEEK. A small niggle from a great week with family

    Great stay

    We have just returned from our first visit to Norfolk, staying at the Bristow’s Barn and would highly recommend this accommodation and booking with East Ruston. The accommodation was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. The location was brilliant for walking our four dogs and it was great to see our reactive boy having the time of his life, swimming in the sea and walking for miles without any distractions. We would also like to say a big thank you to Sue for sorting out some extra goodies and birthday banners for our arrival, it was very much appreciated.

    Already Booked Again!

    This is our fourth time in Norfolk, this property is our favourite by far! Great location to get on to the Weaver Way and then 20/30 mins to other great areas for beaches and great walks The barn is modern, with a totally secure garden and totally secure yard. Total peace of mind, if you have loveable escape artists like us! Our only wish, would be a hot tub! Nevertheless, we booked again half way through our stay for next year!
