Seeing the place was ‘open’ for check-in from Noon, I arrived at 3pm to be greeted by locked doors. I rang the tel no listed on the door, but that was ‘unobtainable’. The 2nd no. obtained from their website was answered and was told someone would be there in 5 minutes. Eventually, after 15ins I rang back, just as someone arrived.
I checked in, got my key and returned later that evening. Getting in was no problem and using a code I found on a corridor door, I managed to log in to the Wi-Fi, which was OK and bedded down (although there was no bedside lamp provided).
In the morning there appeared to be no spoon for my coffee, so I ended up using the sachet as a makeshift spoon to stir in the milk. I tried logging back into the Wi-Fi, but there was no signal (perhaps switched off in the morning ?) so I put the coffee on the bedside cupboard and lay back……bad move, because the bed was on castors and my bed shot across the room due to the lino floor !
The OK shower had no shower gel or shampoo – although I did have my own – and the only hairdryer I could find was a large fan in a cupboard. A bit OTT, I thought !
On the plus side, the towels were excellent.
I left the key in the room door and exited as there was no one around, even at 9.30 am.
Despite the Italian name, this is now an Indian restaurant and a shadow of its probable former heritage and I will not be back.
