“questo soggiorno è stata una piccola fiaba di poche ore. La casa risale all'Ottocento (è una villa) ed è registrata infatti nel Registro Nazionale statunitense dei luoghi storici. Entrando si viene subito trascinati in un'atmosfera magica perché le varie stanze sono rimaste arredate come un tempo: camini, grandi mobili in legno, palchetti originali e tanti piccoli oggetti curiosi (sarebbe lungo descriverli, vi consiglio una visita sul sito ufficiale della Vrooman Mansion). “Overall, great hotel: clean rooms and common areas, comfy beds, good water pressure and temperature, effective darkening blinds, plenty of room space, and adequate breakfast offerings. The location is near ISU campus and nice shops and restaurants at easy walking distance. Parking is inconvenient being in a ramp across the street. Not too far away, but be aware of this in poor weather. Positives out weigh any negatives, I would stay here again.”

“Front desk staff seemed like he was not happy to be there. He did not tell us about the continental breakfast, check out time, asked if I was a Hilton honors member, etc. Seemed annoyed to have to look up my member number by phone number. Alright neighborhood and room was decent - definitely need some work in the room and cosmetic upgrades.”

However, wherever you turn, you notice little things . . . a loose shower handle, exposed nuts/bolts at the base of the toilet, etc. Simple maintenance issues that differentiate a down-at-the-heels hotel from a good property. “The elevator was down, we were told that the only room available was on the 3rd floor. When we tried to access the room, it seemed to be locked from the inside. We were then given a room on the first floor. The facility was clean enough. This is a budget establishment, and you get what you pay for.”
