This was the perfect location for visiting our friends, walking to great restaurants and shops, and getting to public transit. The cottage was cozy and quiet, tucked back from the street, with a beautiful garden outside the windows. The bed was comfortable and the place had all the necessities for our stay. Grateful to the host for their detailed communication!

The property was just as advertised: very clean, comfortable, quiet, and located just a half a block from College Ave and Rockridge with great coffee, a wonderful small market, a great bakery, and nice restaurants. I highly recommend it. Chris was a perfect host; responsive and helpful. .

Easy check in, would be helpful to have photos of the entry so that you know you're in the correct spot. Place was decently clean. Neighborhood was nice! Felt very safe. Had everything as listed. Bed was comfortable, hot water worked. Owner handled a minor issue with wifi promptly.

Perfect location and a wonderful host

Chris was communicative and answered every question I had throughout our stay quickly and kindly. The location is perfect and we were able to walk to College Ave in just a few minutes. My biggest complaint is something the owners of the property are clearly already working on which is the ant problem. They have ant traps at every window and door but still we found ants everywhere -- both dead and alive. We brought our dog with us and I'm grateful we brought our air tight container for his food too because everything in that cottage had ants. The coffee supplies all had dead ants in it and any crumb we missed had a small colony of ants on it by the next day... My only other item was that the comforter on the bed had some small stains on it and was fully synthetic so it made both me and my husband hot each night even with the windows open. All that said, I would stay here again as soon as I had confirmation that the place had been treated by an exterminator for ants and thoroughly cleaned. Chris is a wonderful host and it's a shame that the ants are so persistent.

Great location

It is not a one bedroom. It is a studio with a kitchen that has no stove and the bare essentials. Coffee, no tea, 4 forks, 3 knives, 3 plates, bowls. But the location is great and it was quiet. The owner was good at communicating.

Nice cottage in an interesting area of Oakland

This is a cottage behind an apartment building that was very quiet, but close to shopping and trendy stores. It was comfortable and clean and just right for a visit to my son who lives in the same area. Thank you, Chris!

Vibrant neighborhood

Chris is a very responsive host, such a pleasure to communicate with. I arrived during a rare heat wave so things were toasty and humid all over Oakland. No AC but a great floor fan. It’s a busy street but I heard no traffic noise. The Rockridge neighborhood has plenty of trendy shops and eateries it’s a very charming neighborhood

Lovely stay and accommodating host

My one-night stay at this cottage was perfect. The space was super clean, the bed was comfy, and Chris was very accommodating to me and my service animal. Location is amazing. I felt safe arriving later in the evening. Walking distance to great coffee shops and BART and pretty central to hip neighborhoods and restaurants in Oakland. Would definitely stay here again!

Location, location, location

Within walking distance of downtown Berkeley and Rockridge BART (if you're used to walking). Roomy for one person and a 45lb dog. Bedroom gets lots of sun, so portable fan didn't quite manage to keep it cool when the temperature rose above 75F/25C. Parking was challenging - used the driveway for $10/day and struggled to back out into traffic. That's on me, though, as I don't have good spatial sense. All in all, a quite positive experience.

Chris was very responsive to my many questions as a first time guest. Description is very accurate. Location is conveniently within walking distance of St. Albert’s Priory, restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. It was very nice to have the option to park on the property for a small fee. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Oakland.

I couldn't have been happier with my experience. The property was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully organized. The host was excellent, always prompt and helpful with communication. The neighborhood was fun to explore, with the convenience of having a grocery store and great cafes just a short stroll away. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area.
