Nel centro del paese, all'interno delle mura del castello, la casa di glicine è una vecchia casa con un'atmosfera calda e familiare. La parte sociale è al piano terra con tutte le camere al 1 ° piano. Il soggiorno è grande, ha un camino e tutti i servizi per mangiare, leggere, parlare. Tre camere da letto hanno un letto matrimoniale e due letti singoli. Tutte le stanze hanno molta luce e 2 di esse si affacciano su un ampio balcone. Tutti i piani hanno un bagno. L'ampio e soleggiato giardino ha un barbecue, ideale per preparare pranzi e cene con molte persone.
Gli ospiti avranno accesso a tutta la casa.

We had 2 nights booked in this fabulous house to meet up with friends. It was so gorgeous that we extended.The location of the house within the castle walls is amazing and to have a stunning garden as well is a real bonus. You feel like you are staying in an old family home. There is literally everything you need plus so much character!We couldn’t recommend this any higher -it was the highlight of our trip.Maria was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home

Absolutely charming

Truly like staying in a castle! The stone walls and stairs were authentic. The garden was lovely with the wisteria in full bloom. There was plenty of room for the three of us senior citizens. Everything we could have asked for was there. One thing to note is that the castle grounds are hilly and cobblestoned, so people with mobility issues could have difficulty getting around. Buy chocolate at one of the stores in the area! Maria was very helpful and responsive. She helped us with finding parking and getting the luggage from the parking area to the accommodation. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars was the fact that it was pretty chilly inside. ( Mid-April and cool and rainy outside ). The individual bedrooms and baths thankfully had heat

Beautiful historic house with a beautiful garden

Our stay was fantastic. The house is beautifully decorated, and the fireplace makes it very cozy. Despite the house being historic, it was easy to get temperature of the different spaces comfortable. We visited in February, so it was a little cold to spend time outside, but the garden was beautiful. Our host was very attentive and helped with anything we asked for.

Magnificent home

You could spend all your time just looking at the beautiful interior. Furnished and decorated in the old style, this home is like the TARDIS in Dr. Who - seems tiny on the outside, but it is very large on the inside, with a lovely garden to boot. There are four bedrooms, so it is perfect for a large family. It is also nicely located within the walls of the old city, just a short walk to all the shops and restaurants. It's a little cold in the winter but should be perfect the rest of the year. The host was very accommodating.

Charming home

We loved the home! It was just as you see and this was perfect for us. We came for a weekend in December so we also had fun in Obidos with all the additional Christmas festivities. Because it was December it was also chilly but there is a fireplace which warmed up the main living room very nicely and there were electric heaters in all of the bedrooms and bathrooms. The garden gets afternoon sun so after we walked around most of the day we sat outside and enjoyed the sun and relaxed. We would stay here again for sure.

Great stay

Marla has a wonderful house, we needed time to ourselves, we used the garden to relax in (thank goodness we had good weather) took in the sights when the crowds died down and lit the fire in the evenings. Perfect.

Great location

Everything was perfect for a house which is over 300 years old. The only issue is trying to find the house. The streets have no name and there is no address on the door. Dragging your luggage 800 meters in cobble stones could be a challenge. Once you overcome this you will enjoy your stay.

Outstanding and full of character

Lovely old house with amazing mature garden. Our favourite house in Portugal, truly exceptional. Obidos is incredibly beautiful, we enjoyed spending time exploring every little corner of it. The place is full of love and character. Maria is an amazing and very generous host. She was always available to respond to any questions. We felt very spoiled by being surrounded by so many beautiful antique objects. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable and clean bedrooms. Excellent location, within walls, but off the beaten tourist track. We had wonderful early morning walks on the walls before the crowd arrived. We loved spending time in the beautiful garden in the summer heat. Parking and driving within the walls can be tricky, but we always managed to park near the house. There are loads of tourists until 8pm, but they are mainly on the main street and on the walls. People stop by the house and take photos from the nearby section of the wall, but we didn't mind it. We just felt very privileged!. People disappear around 8pm and the evenings, nights and mornings (until 9am) are incredibly peaceful and quiet. We slept with open windows. On our last evening there were noisy drones circling over the neighbourhood and garden for a long time. That was a bit annoying. Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful house Maria!

Beautiful 2 Story house with an exceptional garden

An absolutely stunning property. The garden is a wonder of tranquility, with a grill and an outside brick oven. There are three bathrooms, all different. The beds were small, but comfortable. Would definitely stay here again. You won’t want to leave!

A Bit of Calm in a Sea of Tourists

This is a historic property tucked inside the walled city of Obidos. Wow, what a delight and honor to step inside and marvel at the antiques and vestiges of a long ago era. The walled garden added so much pleasure during our stay as the place for morning coffee and afternoon drinks. Maria Joao assured that we arrived safely and had the house ready for us. Being inside the wall of the city allowed us to wander Obidos early in the morning and later in the evening when the throngs of tourists who flock inside the gates are far fewer. During the day, we wended our way out of the walled city by car and visited other nearby places such as Tomar, Caldas da Rainha, Cortem winery, and Salinas de Rio Maior. We were always pleased to come back to our "home" and make our way on foot to one of the wonderful restaurants for drinks and a meal. Thank you Maria Joao for sharing this historic and lovingly cared-for property.

Fantastic!

The house is inside the walls of beautiful Obidos, and is quintessentially Portuguese. The walled garden is stunning and peaceful, perfumed by jasmine with cascading wisteria. Maria was an attentive and gracious host. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

WOW!

Maria provided such a relaxing lovely stay at her beautiful home inside the walled city. Was so easy and fun. Parking was not an issue because we simple parked in the inexpensive lot just outside the walls and walked in. (Something the town should think about - keep the cars completely out. It's easy and being car-free is kind of wonderful). Go to Obidos!!

Charming!

We loved this spot. It was magical. Plenty of room and lots of charm. The backyard was gorgeous. The plum and lemon trees were delicious! The views of the castle wall from the bedrooms were unforgettable. We also loved our host. She was attentive and kind. I’d love to return to this space!

Lovely home in a walled city
