Beach lovers will adore East Winds 505, a one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom, oceanfront condo that's just steps from the water's edge in a great part of Ocean City (70th Street). Features include a fully equipped kitchen, a flatscreen cable TV, a DVD player, a private washer/dryer, and a furnished oceanfront balcony with lovely views of the water. Building amenities include direct beach access, an elevator for your convenience, and easy parking for one car.

What's nearby:
Walk down to the beach for a day of sun and surf, or take a stroll to one of the many popular restaurants nearby, including The Dough Roller (one block), Galaxy 66 (five blocks), BJ's on the Water (five blocks), and Dead Freddies Island Grill (seven blocks). Also within walking distance are various shops and activities, including Old Pro Golf Indoor/Outdoor Mini-Golf & Arcade, Ocean Lanes Bowling, and Candy Kitchen. All of this, and you'll be mere minutes from the famous Ocean City Boardwalk. You'll love it here and want to come back year after year!

Ocean City has adopted a noise control ordinance that makes it unlawful to cause or permit noise levels which exceed those established by the Department of the Environment of the State of Maryland (COMAR 26.02.03.02) or are in violation of Chapter 30, Article V of the Town Code. It shall be a violation of this agreement and grounds for eviction under Maryland law if these noise levels are exceeded as a result of activity on this property. Ocean City has other noise ordinances, which are criminal offenses if violated.

The best part of our stay was the beautiful ocean view. Although the outdoor chairs were falling apart. The railing on the balcony was so wobbly we didn’t go near it. The condo was dirty, old, musty smelling. The inside of the refrigerator was rusty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned. The chairs at the breakfast table were wicker held together with duct tape, literally. There were several remotes for the tv and none had batteries in them that worked. The kitchen “supples” were dirty as if they were not cleaned. Bed linens were stained. It was truly an awful experience….. and we are campers. Not picky at all.

I would not recommend this property. The balcony door was virtually impossible to close. The furniture was in very poor condition. Needs to be completely updated and repaired.

Miserable experience

This is by far the worst condo we have ever rented at the beach. The kitchen light worked half the time, tv did not work, sliding door very hard to slide, no towel bars to hang bath towels, floor was swept but not mopped you knew that every time you took a shower your feet bottoms were black with dirt, we had to wash every pot, pan and dishes we wanted to use dirty with dried food on them, and no place to store food for the week so it had to stay on the table. The burner on the stove was broken. What was supposed to be a fun last trip to the beach for my wife it was very unenjoyable. The leasing agent was contacted daily by me and the only issue fixed was the stove burner. I would not recommend this unit as is, it is dated and needs a renovation.

Corrections

The screen for the sliding door was off, leaning against the door. Both air conditioners need cleaned, has mold on the vents and filters need replaced. NO WiFi or Television ( would have been nice to use on the rainy evenings) A few other minor problems that could have been fixed with a few bulbs.

Filthy property in a great location.

Even after reading all the negative reviews from two years ago, we took a leap of faith and booked this property. All the bad things have surely been fixed in two years, right? Wrong. This property is the dirtiest, most outdated rental unit we’ve ever booked. The dishwasher is filthy, the kitchenware and appliances are all old and dirty, the oven hood is absolutely gross with grease, the closets are (still) packed with broken lamps, VHS tapes, and artwork and are completely unusable, lamps were broken, the balcony screen door is ripped open letting bugs in, and so much more. The dresser drawers were dirty inside, including body hair from previous renters, so we just lived out of our suitcases for five days. We actually almost cut our vacation short and returned home because of how dirty this place was. The sheets and towels seemed clean, but that was about it. Dirty towels from the previous renter remained piled up outside our front door through our entire five-day stay. Seems like we spent half our vacation not touching any surfaces. This is our first time using Vacasa, and since we now know that this level of quality is considered acceptable, it will be our last. I've contacted Vacasa three times with photos, and have received no response. Previous reviewers note how filthy this place is, and that you're paying for the location. While beachfront access was great, it'd be much cleaner to just sleep outside on the beach. Do not book this property.

Could be much better

We arrived late in the evening after driving from DC. My 8yo was especially tired after her school day. To get the keys we had to drive to a different location. Once we got to the apartment, we found a bag with clean sheets and towels sitting in front of the apartment. Inside was not inviting at all. The pictures look like the place is new, but it’s not the case. There was no (NONE) soap or toilet paper inside. We couldn’t even wash our hands. The beds are very old, mattress covers old with holes and unpleasant looking. Old and dirty pillows and blankets. Also the beds are so squeaky that if you move at night you wake up everyone else. I have to say that bed sheets and towels were very clean and I could tell they were disinfected and washed really well. Clean bathrooms. But the shower curtain doesn’t have enough rings and is not hanging right. No trash cans. The refrigerator is clean, but the freezer is rusty. Dishwasher works only on one setting. Washer and dryer are fine. The silverware is old and dirty. Also the forks are so small no adult could use them. Basically, the next morning we had to go shopping to buy new mattress covers, pillows, blankets, bathtub mat, silverware, pots and pans etc. Things like this need to be replaced with new ones after a certain time. All the closets are stuffed with broken things, so you can’t use the closets. But the location and the view are amazing.

Great view, great location

This little condo is perfect because it's right on the beach. You can watch/listen to the waves all day. Building was very quiet, even during bike week so no trouble sleeping due to noise. Beds arent the best and are creaky. Place is dated and small, but again you are paying for location. I would stay there again!

So Disappointing

First the good news:This property is in an amazing location and has an incredible view of the ocean. It’s right on the beach, and has a great balcony. Because it’s a distance from the boardwalk, the beach is family oriented and quiet. Now for the not so good news: Other than that, the condo leaves a lot to be desired. My husband and I aren’t interested in beach nightlife, so when we saw in the description that there was a DVD player, we took some movies out of our local library and were looking forward to spending our evenings watching them. We were so disappointed to discover that the DVD player is broken, but even if it weren’t, it was only plugged into the wall outlet, with no wires to connect it to the TV. Since there is no WiFi, which we knew and were fine with, we didn’t even have the option to watch anything on our our own devices. In addition, the apartment has not been cleaned well (sinks, floors, surface tops, AC units), the closets are stuffed with junk and not usable by guests, the blankets are dirty, the mattress cover and a pillow are falling apart, the shower curtain doesn’t have enough rings, the slippery bathtub needs safety strips, the kitchen trash can has no lid, and there are no extra light bulbs. We have rented condos and houses all over the US and other countries. We are low maintenance and not picky, but our minimum expectation is a clean property. I see that this is under new ownership, and I hope that the intention is to fix it up after the season. Perhaps then there will be some indication that the owner takes pride in and loves his/her property.

Ocean City Beach

The property was right on the beach. We had a balcony overlooking the ocean. It was great to get up and sit and watch the waves. The property had everything we needed. I would recommend staying there.

Great Location

Gorgeous oceanfront view from top floor of building. Reviews mentioned issue with cleaning crew but we found the unit to be spotless. The washer and dryer were a definite plus! Small condo - but who spends time in the condo when you’re at the beach anyway?!? The closets were full of items and couldn’t be used for storage of suitcases etc. (a disappointment) but overall a great place and price to stay! The outdoor shower and elevator were big hits!!

We enjoyed the fact that the property is on the ocean, so we only had a short walk to the beach. Our main problem with the property was the cleanliness. When we arrived there was noticeable sand in the living area that we had to sweep up to avoid tracking all over the place. In addition, the bathrooms were not very clean. Both toilets had to be wiped down before we could use them. Whoever does the cleaning for the property only seems to do a cursory job and is not interested in making the property clean between renters.

The condo was wonderful, but the rental company is very disorganized

The condo is more spacious and beautiful in person. However, maintence dropped the ball in regards to cleaning. There was built up dirt in the sink in the full bathroom. Dishwasher had caked detergent in it. We never used it. As soon as we arrived we were told they lost a few sets of our keys. Then during our stay they were VERY hard to get a hold of. So many numbers and the people located at the Baltimore agency were very rude. Also, a woman came to our condo saying we were scheduled to leave that day (our third day). We said we weren't and she said she was with maintence and there must have been a mix up. She asked when we were leaving and we told her and she went on her way. Then when we finally got ahold of the agency they wouldn't confirm that lady was actually with the company. There was no way of knowing if it was some random person asking when we were leaving? It was very sketchy. Beautiful condo. We would definitely plan to return, but will have to sit to decide if the agency is worth dealing with. Honestly. Also, this property is the East Winds East, not West. Overall, disorganized but beautiful views. Very spacious. Easily can sleep 6 people. It really is a steal. We really had a wonderful time, just a little disappointed in VR agency. The balcony is huge. Beautiful.
