Worst hotel we've stayed at

I believe this had to be the worst hotel that I've stayed at. I know the hotel is old but it needed to be updated and cleaned better. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but they forgot to tell us that a band was playing in the restaurant below us till 2 a.m.! We had to get up at 6:30 a.m. so we didn't get much sleep. We both decided we weren't going to put up with the noise for another night, so we went home a day early. No elevator, only stairs. Definitely not worth what they charge! Find someplace better!!!

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT SERVICE, AND CLEAN

MY HUSBAND HAVE STAYED TWICE AND HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THE LOCATION AND SERVICE. I ALWAYS FEEL THAT THE BEDDING AND BATH ARE CLEAN WHICH YOU DON'T ALWAYS GET IN THE OTHER HOTELS. WE DON'T GO FOR THE TOP OF THE LINE HOTEL AND THIS FALLS PERFECTLY FOR WHAT WE WANT FOR THE NIGHT OR TWO AT OC. HAPPY BOTH TIMES. SERVICE IS MAGNIFICENT. THEY ARE MOST HELPFUL. LOVE THEM!!

close to the ocean and broadwalk

It was a good stay. I was not in the room that much I was on the broad walk or the beach most of the time. The room was hot when we arrived but cooled off nicely after about an hour. Not a good hotel for any one who can not climb stairs. They have no coffee is the room in the morning I think they can or should get a coffee maker for each room along with the fridge. That would have been great to wake with a nice cup of coffee or tea.

No elevator tough on seniors and kids. Great location. It is more of a couples hide out then a family vacation.

Great hosts, definitely going back.

In the beginning, there was a little misunderstanding with the dates and they didn't show my reservations (may have been hotel.com issue), however, the owner's were so kind and helpful and managed to upgrade my reservations and accommodated my stay even on a busy holiday weekend. They truly worked they're magic and I am grateful for their kind gestures.

Never Again

Rooms outdated, ocean water was warmer than the shower water, couldn't even take one the water was so cold, no elevator had to climb 2 flights of stairs with luggage

Great location.

We were happy with the location, but found the hotel disappointing. Very small bathroom. Old 19" TV, remote didn't work, was brought another one, it stopped working also, window air-conditioner. Such a great location, too bad it's not updated. Staff was very friendly. Not a bad place for the price.

If you cannot find nothing else in the heart of the boardwalk, there is always a room available at the Shoreham. That should tell you something, Other than that I cannot find nothing good to say. Not even a elevator! Probably not go there again. For the price it was ridiculous .

Wouldn't stay again

The shower was awful and the toilet was running the entire stay. The room was so small you could barely move around but it was good for a cheap one night stay, and being so close to the beach and Shenanigans was fun.

DEFINTELY WON US OVER!

We have stayed several places in OC but overall the happiest with this. Pricing, cleanliness, service (TOPS), etc.. Wish we hadn't wasted our time staying at other places before. The front desk was bar none....the best. Had a situation to come up and they were great at trying to help us work it out. Perfect location right at boardwalk. Can't go wrong. It is a definite winner.

Decent place right off boardwalk

I stayed here with friends for the 4th of July weekend. Our overall impression of the hotel and room was that it was adequate for a weekend stay. The shower in the room didn't work too well and the TV was very outdated. Otherwise, the room was clean and basic. It didn't have updated furniture or fixtures, but we weren't expecting that. We were just looking for a decent place to stay for a few nights, so it was fine for our needs. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. My friends and I would definitely come back again.

Old timey hotel right on the boardwalk

My husband and I are both serious beach lovers, and this hotel was exactly what we wanted and expected. Location is amazing, ample free parking right behind hotel. There are no elevators, and the rooms starting with "1" are actually 1.5 flights of steps up. We were in room 306, so it was 3.5 flights up. Room was small but clean and had everything we needed for a beach trip: bed, window a/c unit, dresser, mini-fridge, flat TV, free wi-fi, closet, and attached bathroom. Decor is nonexistent -- no pictures on the walls, no throw pillows, no curtains. The shower is a stall, not a whole tub, and the sink is just a sink with no counter. The staff is friendly and nice, and our room was made up in the morning each day. The building is old, so yes, some of the floors are not level, but to that I say: Who cares? If you are like us and plan to spend as little time in your hotel room as possible, this shouldn't even be a factor for you. The hotel is on top of Shenanigan's Irish pub, but we couldn't hear the pub at all. A/C is a tiny window unit, but the room is tiny, so it works just fine. We worried that the hallways would be loud -- but no. They do not allow visitors to come to the guest rooms, so I think that discourages the hard partiers. If you are looking for fluffy comforters, free bottled water, room service, elevators, and plush carpet, look elsewhere. But if you want a good place to lie down between trips to the beach and boardwalk, this place is a solid choice.

Do not stay if you plan on sleeping early!!!!

This place is noisy!!! Right over top of a bar and if the band is playing which it was when I stayed you have to shout to whomever is in the room. Checked out after the first night because they would not give refund that night but refunded my second night.

Bachelor Weekend

I wanted a affordable beach hotel on the boardwalk. This place was great. Sure the room was small and things were made even tighter bc there were four guys and two beds but when you just need a place to get a few hours of sleep its great. Staff was helpful with directions to the nearest bar and closest bus stop and didn't mind us ppl stumbling in at 4am. What more do you need.

Decent hotel for the price

It wasn't bad considering the price and the location (Very convenient between 3rd and 4th street right of the board walk). Rooms were clean with free WIFI but do not expect too much in terms of other facilities like free break fast and all.

55 steps from bottom, up to our room

no elevator. cable tv. broken. no coffee pot. stand up shower only. 3in. gap under door. no balcony. no heat!? what is with that? particle board dresser was falling apart.

Right on the Boardwalk

We have stayed there for several years. The people are great,the rooms are clean. There is a lot of steps so we always stay on the first floor.

A decent hotel with a good location

Right on the boardwalk near the city center. The price was competitive but the ocean view was difficult to see from the bed. Overall, pretty good for the money.

great cheap stay in ocmd

Staff very friendly allowed us to check in 4 hours early. Rooms basic but were fine since we were just there to sleep. Clean floors could actually walk around barefoot on carpet. Bed comfortable. Not too noisey. Simple bathrooms but workedwell. Perfect location could walk to lots of places. Would stay again for the price and quality.
