5 times as a returning guest says it all. Returning to Hotel Capitol always feels right. The staff remembers you, the rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the ambience is calm and classy. My go-to in Lagos for sure!

On arrival, I appreciated the security at the entrance. However, things went downhill after that. Please be aware that prices are quite a bit higher on Expedia than they are on the actual company's website (or if you call/whatsapp them). This is important because they have this weird policy that if you spend a certain amount/get a certain type of room, you get 2 complimentary breakfasts. If you are below that room type/spend amount, you only get one person's breakfast comp'd/included, even if you indicated that you booked for two people. It's a weird policy in my opinion, and the staff would not budge on it, even though it's not listed anywhere on Expedia. The room were clean, but evident of wear and tear. The pool looked like it never got used. The food at the restaurant was good, but SO expensive. Almost $15USD for jollof and plantains...! The airport shuttle is an extra fee, but the shuttle wasn't even available the day of purchase. We ended up using UberComfort which was 25% of the price of the shuttle. Overall, I would look for another option for any future layovers in Lagos.

This place feels like an old Italian village. Very clean Staff gave an excellent service Well maintained Room is old school and won’t match modern hotel rooms, however it has all the amenities and everything was working properly and was very clean.
