What a Great Place
Cheryl is an awesome host. The home is in a quiet spot and large enough for a whole family. We were in the area to purchase a home of our own down there so we were quite busy and didn't get to take advantage of all the amenities. There is a large dock, corn hole game, yard darts, a couple of kayaks, a fire pit with plenty of chairs for everyone to sit, and the back deck has a large table to eat outside if you want with more chairs there. We will definitely try to stay there again if needed while working on our new place. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!

Gathering of friends
We came to Old Town to visit with friends from the area. . This home was a perfect spot for our short visit. If we ever need to stay longer on the Suwannee River, we will look into this home again. Thank you so very much!!!

I thought the property would be CLEAN
We were sooo disappointed to find this place filthy. We wanted to turn around and leave after we walked in and saw and smelled it. In my opinion this property had been sitting empty for some time. No one bothered cleaning it. It was a beautiful home but everything was nasty, the dishes, the floors, the tables. I wiped up so much nastiness, and we have 2 under 2 babies and it was dang near impossible to keep them off the floors. The whole place had bugs, some were dead and others were happy to see food 😑 I assumed all the properties listed on Vrbo were required to be clean. We left it cleaner than when we arrived. I will never stay here again!

I am very sorry you had this experience. Our home is to be thoroughly cleaned between every guest. We are a very popular vacation rental and we pride ourselves on cleanliness and our many happy returning guests. We will be addressing this with our cleaning service and will rectify this issue. Fanning springs getaway
Gorgeous sunrises on the river. Right up the road from Fanning springs. Large house can accommodate large families. Just bring the kids and enjoy the springs!

Sooo Peaceful!
10/10 would book again. The place was surprisingly spacious with a comfortable living room and a beautiful, updated kitchen. The back porch was perfect for breakfast with our family and guests while overlooking a great backyard area where our dog enjoyed running in circles. But the true highlight of the stay was the deck overlooking the beautiful Suwanee River. So peaceful and restorative. Just a lovely weekend.

Clean and comfy home
The house was very clean and had everything we needed. When I couldn't connect with the wifi password, they answered my call immediately and were very nice and helpful.

SRFair home away from away

Retreat on river
We arrived late at night and the neighbor’s yard across from this property has junk piled everywhere giving this property a very bad perception. Once inside the cabin, it was perfect and we had a pleasant stay. The back yard was amazing! The deck on the river, fire pit, hammock, and picnic table were such a treat!

Thank you for staying with us. This is a very rural area with no HOA so we have no control over the neighbors yards, but as you mention, once you get down the driveway it's heavenly and peaceful.

Mini Spring Break
Everything we wanted and more. The property is clean, private and exactly as listed. Everything you need is there. The river is amazing and the unspoiled nature is worth making the time to relax and enjoy life !

Wonderful house
The house was nice it is quite rural which is we wanted Laura was great very helpful and nice. Fishing was okay caught some pretty large Catfish. Would go back.

Amazing!!! Beautiful cabin
Easy check in and check out. Property is beautiful. The guys loved fishing on the dock. Even caught some fish! Beds are super comfy. Kitchen I wanted to take home with me. There is well water but we found it good enough to drink and cook with. Can’t wait to go back. We are going to plan September/October vacation there again. Only negative thing was the neighbor dog using your yard as his bathroom and charging my dog who was at all times on a leash. Thank you Cheryl

Amazing!
We had an unexpected trip to Florida to be with a very sick family member. She was able to actually get released and stay with us. This home is so quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the boats go down the river. In the evenings we had a small fire and sat and talked. I would recommend this home to anyone looking to get away from the everyday busy life. Go sit and enjoy the peaceful nature. Wonderful host and responds quickly.

Absolutely perfect stay!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The river is beautiful. It is peaceful, and the house is perfectly open and spacious. We enjoyed the grill and the fire pit and even caught a few fish. Can’t wait for next stay!!

Spacious and Stocked for your getaway!
The house was very spacious with plenty of seating inside and out and comfortable sleeping accomodations for all. FULLY stocked kitchen with dishes, cookware, spices, two refrigerators, large pantry. Adjacent property access to the river was sufficient for 4 kayas, plus a pontoon boat. The nearby boat ramp can accommodate a 22 foot pontoon, but the river is slightly tidal. Nearby springs afforded up close views of manatees (Fanning Spring), gator, turtles, otters, and plentiful fishing.

Perfect host, and a peaceful river house
Cheryl was flexible and generous as we had to adjust our dates for Hurricane Ian, and hosted us once the sun rose on Florida in this beautiful river house across the river from the wildlife reserve. Its a big place, plenty of space and a full kitchen for your use. Can hold a big group, but was great for us as well. Highly recommeneded.

Wonderful place and town. Will definitely be back!
Talked to owner before arrival. Couldn't arrive during the day because of flight times. It is very dark outside. She had all the outside lights on for us. Thank you so much! It was great drinking my morning coffee sitting on the deck looking at the suwannee river. Will definitely stay there again.

Lovely weekend getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend! The home is spacious and clean and the view from the dock is dreamy. We enjoyed a day at the nearby springs and spent our evenings fishing, playing games, and cooking in the large beautiful kitchen.

Quiet river retreat
Our family had a wonderful stay here. We found it to be spacious and comfortable. A great we way to disconnect from everyday running! The river was relaxing and the kids enjoyed fishing off the dock, watching for turtles and seeing sturgeon jump. We visited multiple springs which were located near by. We loaded our boat just up the river and dined at the restaurant on the river as well. Wi-Fi worked well for us. ( not that we really needed it) Great getaway!

Close to Springs!
Great stay right on the river. The home is spacious. Bedrooms are huge. Kitchen is lovely. I wasn't a fan of the smell of cleaning products when we arrived, but I suppose it was proof that it was clean! The deck over the river is awesome. We kayaker up river to the Suwannee Belle Restaurant. That place was great for drinks and food right on the river. Fanning Springs was fantastic. The kids preferred that spring over Manatee Springs, another one not too far away. Easy to get groceries. Wifi was just fine. Everything you need for a comfortable stay and more! Owner was very quick to remedy a non-working coffee maker issue. Within 30 minutes we had a new, working coffee pot. Great place overall! Definitely recommend.

Beautiful and relaxing place! Very peaceful, enjoyable and convenient!
I went to spend time with my family and that was a great place to have family time . Enjoyed the fire pit, river view and house has everything l need. Didn’t use kayaks because the river is wide open and deep but we went to nearby springs. No much for Old Town to see but two restaurants we went to eat were pretty good!

The cabin itself was great!!! Very spacious rooms!!!!! Huge beautiful yard right on the Suwanee Rive
Things were a bit rough getting started but Cheryl was very attentive to the matter!!! once we were actually inside the cabin- we were very pleased!! The unit inside and out was very well stocked. We had everything that we could possibly need!!! Such a great time!!! We would love to stay there again!!! All positive- except for the dogs next door!!! One of them charged on the cabin's property several times in the two days that we were there. It tried to attack my small dog, came in the backyard for bbq and used the yard as his bathroom. That was the only downfall.

Surprises
We loved the house and the Suwannee River. Very isolated which we wanted but we didn’t want the neighbors dogs charging us from next store. Very scary. They also did their poop in our yard every morning which we cleaned up.

Enjoyable stay at a great location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the River Retreat. The house is very spacious. The bedrooms are very large; even bigger than the pictures portray. The updated kitchen is wonderful with all the stuff needed to cook a meal. We liked being on the river and sitting on the dock relaxing. We did not use the kayaks due to the weather and swift current while we were there. Instead we visited the springs nearby and within an hour drive.

Perfect trip
This was such a great place for us to stay. We were visiting Florida for a week and took 2 days to meet up with some family friends that had moved to Florida a few years prior. There were 4 of us adults, 6 kids, and a baby. This house was AMAZING! The pictures were very accurate - with exception of the room sizes. The rooms were actually much bigger than the pictures led me to believe. For 11 of us in a 3 bedroom house, we had plenty of space. The house was spotless. The beds were comfortable. As mentioned in the description, there was no cable. There was WiFi though and good cell phone signal (Verizon). We didn’t use the TV too much but one of the days was pretty rainy so we had a movie marathon from their large DVD collection. We used the fire pit and we enjoyed the deck on the River. We’d love the opportunity to visit again. Thanks for having us.

Relaxing get away
Very relaxing. View of the river and critters excellent. Property not for river access, very high, steep bank. Not an issue as we were there just for the view. We were able to watch river otters, red headed woodpeckers and a few squirrels. Thank you to the host for this vacation spot.

Never disappoints
This was our second time at the retreat and definitely won’t be the last. We stocked the kitchen with groceries and only left the property twice. The manatees were in Fanning springs so my wife was able to check that off her list of must sees. We are already planning our next visit.
