Good Stay
Very cute hotel. Although we spoke very little Spanish Emma was able to make our stay very comfortable. Hot water is only available at certain times so we showered with ease when it was available. Breakfast was included and was great to start the day. We also got a private taxi (organized by the hotel) to take us from Cusco to Ollyantaytambo - very helpful.

The coolest views and kindest people literally in down town ollantaytambo ruins was rite across the street i woke up to the sun coming over them every morning

The hotel is in the middle of all attractions. The ladies at front desk are very helpful and nice. The interior gardens are nice and the tree in front of the hotel are full of hummingbirds. The rooms are clean and spacious and cleaned every day

The hotel is close to all attractions in city. It is reachable by car (many streets in city are just walkable). The ladys at front desk are extremely nice and accomodating. Everything is very clean an the breakfast is more than enough. They can even arange for a taxi from aeroport in Cusco.

Very simple, very clean and affordable. Basic breakfast. Eggs were hot and to order. Hosts were lovely.

Mama Valle ist eines der besten Hotels in denen ich je war ! Ganz davon abgesehen , dass die Zimmer sauber sind , man fließendes und warmes Wasser hat( was in Peru nicht gerade üblich ist) und einen unglaublichen Ausblick, sind die beiden Betreiberinnen des Hotels die mit Abstand die fürsorglichsten Menschen die ich hier kennenlernen durfte. Sie haben sich nicht nur darum gekümmert das wir rechtzeitig für unseren Machu Picchu Besuch abgeholt wurden sondern haben uns wortwörtlich versucht jeden Wunsch von den Lippen abzulesen. Rundum Versorgung bekommt in diesem Hotel eine ganz neu Bedeutung , weshalb wir direkt eine Nacht länger geblieben sind. Wir würden jeder Zeit wieder kommen.

Great Value with Central Location
Emma runs a spotless, efficient hotel that is close to the central plaza and within easy walking distance to the Fortress. The hotel is quiet, clean and has all the basics most travelers need. I found Emma to be polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Hard to be the value.

Works For a Night
My mom and I stayed here for one night on the way to Machu Picchu. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. We had a room on the second floor towards the back and had a beautiful view of the ruins. PROS - friendly staff - quick check in - close to train (10 minute walk) - close to the plaza with many restaurants (3 minute walk) - close to the ruins and market (5 minute walk) CONS - 10% surcharge for using a credit card (add it to the price Expedia quotes you) - no heat - no hot water from 7PM-8AM

Quiet place, perfect after climbing Machu Picchu
At the end of a quiet side track but easy to find. Perfect for a night or two after climbing Machu Picchu. Friendly staff, even though they spoke little English.

In need of maintenance
The hotel was in need of basic maintenance. A step up from backpacker. A 6 minute shower meant that for the first person there was hot water, for the next person, tepid water only until the system reheated (8 minutes minimum). The sign in the bathroom said "please don't put paper down the toilet". We interpreted this as other than toilet paper. The alternative would be a bit unhygienic. The bathroom floor was murderous when wet. The ladies who provided the services at the hotel were friendly and prodided a good breakfast

Ok location but don't expect too much
At first their credit card machine wasn't working. Once it was working, they wanted to charge 10% more so we ended up paying cash. The toilet in our room leaked so we woke up to a wet bathroom floor. We asked to be moved to a new room. They didn't have a map or directions on how to get to the Graineries trek but we found it anyway.

Ruhig und doch nah zu den wichtigsten Adressen
Unterwegs nach Machu Picchu haben wir eine Nacht in Ollantaytambo verbracht, wo ganz nah am Hostel man die Inka-Ruinen besichtigen kann. Gleich um die Ecke befindet sich der Hauptplatz mit hübschen Häusern und 10 Min. weiter der Bahnhof. Señora Emma war sehr hilfsbereit, hat uns gleich Coca-Tee gebracht und für uns eine Transportmöglichkeit zum Bahnhof besorgt. Unser Zimmer zum Innenhof war s. ruhig. Leider gibt es dort keine Heizgeräte.

Nice Hotel in Sacred Valley
The staff was very accommodating and treated us like family in many instances. When we had small problems adjusting to the altitude, they were quick to make us tea. The Room was nice and comfortable with a beautiful view! There was a courtyard in the middle. with plenty of plants. Breakfast was great, included milk, tea, coffee, eggs, avocados, bread, butter and jam.

A place to sleep
Administrator at the Hotel is not friendly asked for help with one of my luggage that needed to be fixed and she just said - that is your problem. I had to contact a local merchant which fixed and sewed the luggage in a few minutes. Hot water is only a few hour at morning and at noon. When it works all other outlets do not have electricity. All other is OK. Its a few steps from the central plaza.

The Hotel is Ok for the place. However, the issue with hot water control/availability and the related electrical connection malfunction was a problem when you need to rest the most.

Hotel bem simples, como quase tudo em Ollantaytambo. As camas são relativamente confortáveis. O café da manhã é simples, mas nos atendeu muito bem. Ponto negativo para o abastecimento de água quente, supostamente disponível em horários determinados (das 06:00 às 08:00 h e das 18:00 às 22:00 h), que acabava no meio do banho.

The room was really nice and comfortable. However, it did not have a TV and the WiFi only worked in the lobby. The staff was very friendly and nice, although they lost my key for half a day. The location is good, but Ollanta is pretty small anyway. It is a nice place to stay the night, but it lacks the amenities to keep you there longer.

Nice place with slow Internet
Really nice place, peaceful and breakfast is delicious. It is really close to the train station to Machu Picchu, so you can walk to there. The only downside is that the Internet sucks, it's reaaaaaaally slow.

Staff muy amable y excelente atencion. El lugar es exactamente lo que esperabamos obtener por el rango de precio que pagamos. La ubicacion es excelente y es una mejor opcion a quedarse en Aguas Calientes en el trayecto a Machu Picchu.

Not too many options in Ollantaytambo, this is a nice place that's close to the main plaza. The selection of breakfast is sort of limited, but it's all right :)

Be weary of the staff, they will try to rip you of
Issues we had: 1. The walls are paper thin and you can hear even quiet conversations going on in at least 3 different rooms 2. There is a rooster in the home directly adjacent to the hotel that starts going at about 3:30 or 4am and doesn't stop until about 7am making it virtually impossible to get any consistent sleep during these hours. 3. Wifi, there is a signal, however that means very little when it doesn't allow you to connect to any sites because it is so slow. 4. Staff tried to rip us off twice at checkout: once by saying they don't accept credit cards (despite signs all over the place indicating that they do) and then by trying to charge and additional 10% when they did begrudgingly agree to accept credit card payment. Stand your ground and don't let them take advantage of you just because you're a tourist!!

Other places in town do everything better
We stayed at Casa de Mama Valle for one night before staying at another hotel in Ollantaytumbo. The other hotel was the same price but had a much larger room and similar everything else. There is a lock on the front door, so you have to wait for staff to let you in every time you come back to the hotel. The room is tiny and dirty, with garbage under our beds. We had to push the beds together because while we ordered a double bed, we got two singles. The WiFi doesn't work, no matter what they tell you. It doesn't work in the room or the office, but internet doesn't work in anything except the internet cafes in Ollantaytumbo (trust me, we've tried them all over the course of three days as we work while we travel). The staff doesn't speak English, so expect problems there too if you don't speak Spanish. Our other hotel, Inka Paradise, wasn't great either... but it was certainly better than this.

Internet didn't work in rooms. And no HOT WATER!!!! Left the shower on for almost 20 minutes and still left the next morning without a much needed shower. Mold in the bathroom ceiling. They had towels and toiletries but I would've really liked a hot shower or warm one. I would've preferred to have stayed in a different place.

Roubada. Muito caro para o que oferece.
Péssima. Água morna demora mais de 5 minutos para sair do chuveiro. Quando a gente reclama o gerente do hotel faz cara feia, parecendo que isso seja a coisa mais normal do mundo. O hotel é gerenciado por uma família que vive no hotel, nem um pouco simpática e sem nenhum profissionalismo. Quartos minúsculos, sem nenhum móvel ou locais para colocar as coisas. Muitas vezes a recepção está guardada por um menino de 06 anos, da família que gerencia o hotel. a família tem um cachorro que fica solto nas dependências do hotel, entrando, inclusive, nos quartos. Café da manhã além de muito fraco, é servido apenas de 7:30 as 9:00 num local que os passeios começam bem cedo, vi muitas pessoas saindo do hotel sem tomar o café, inclusive nós em um dos 02 dias de nossa hospedagem. FUJA DESSE HOTEL.

The room was reasonably modern looking, clean and comfortable, but the shower's "hot water" took at least 20 minutes to get warm. Wi-fi is only available in main lobby, not in our room. Location is within walking distance to train station. Price is good enough for 1-night stay.

My brother and I spent three nights at Casa Mama on our trip to Machu Picchu. The room was comfortable and served as a base to explore the town. The facilities were basic and met our needs. The staff was outstanding in offering assistance in finding a restaurant, arranging local transportation and dealing with luggage issues for the train to Machu Picchu.

Could've been better
Although it was a nice hotel and nice area the staff was a little rude. Wifi didn't reach our room, and the hot water lasted 1 minute. No tv. Besides that the room was clean and it was a secure area close to everything.
