Great property, we loved being right on the water and the fire pit. Great location with lots to do in the immediate area.Only recommendation would be to invest in some kitchen utensils! Only one small paring knife and a bread knife and minimal cookware and flatware.Thanks again for the stay!

We had another great time staying in this cottage and plan to book it again next summer. The cottage is comfortable and located in a perfect waterfront location with an awesome dock. Wish I could give more than 5 Stars!

This was my second stay at this property and that says it all. The cottage is very comfortable and situated waterfront with an awesome private dock complete with chairs to sit right over the water. The host was quick to respond to inquiries. I am already looking forward to an extended stay next summer! Thank you again, Van, for your hospitality. We had a wonderful stay!

Wonderful serene setting!

The house was great! Had every amenity needed and then some. Located within 5 minutes of major shopping complex and supermarket. The pond has a sandy bottom and is shallow around the dock area, great for small children. We had our beach chairs right in the water at the edge of the beach. Enjoyed using the kayak and paddle boat in the pond. Very quiet and serene setting. Evenings were spent around the fire-pit. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay. The location is great, the view is beautiful and the hosts were very great from a communication standpoint.The cottage is very cosy and homey feeling, but the only issue was the price tag was a bit high for this property. I say this because the cottage is definitely in need of some updates. For example the screen door to the patio was duct taped to conceal what I assume were holes in the screen. This is something that should be replaced if you are going to charge a premium dollar per night stay (roughly 300 per night for us). Additionally, many of the windows did not open as the crank or frame itself on the window was broken. The place itself was really in need of a deep clean as there was dirt, hair and dead bugs in the corners of the floors. There was also a lot of dog hair on the floor when we arrived. Which as dog people it wasn't a big deal, but our daughter who is crawling age ended up with handfuls of hair. The kitchen amenities were also very scarce, as we did not see a pizza cutter, any small knifes, etc. Also, the TV had an error message that was permanently burned into the screen so anytime you watched the TV you could still see an error message. Some minor updates to the property could turn this into a 5 star stay for sure.The bathroom was very nice and you could tell it had been completely updated/renovated recently. They also had recently updated parts of the kitchen as well. The wifi was also great, very fast.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Check in snd communication was wonderful. I grew up coming to the pond with my family every summer. This was my first time staying at this cottage and we will definitely be back. It had everything we needed and more. The water was beautiful and my kids absolutely loved it there. Thanks again Van!

Just WOW!

My family has been vacationing at Blackmore pond for our entire lives, and our mother and grandmother before us. This was our first stay at this cottage and we cannot wait to book it again next summer. The cottage is clean, cozy, and perfectly equipped. The pond is a delight to swim and boat in, and the neighbors are very friendly. The owner responded promptly to all inquiries both before and during our stay. We had a wonderful time and felt completely at home! Thanks for your hospitality, Van!

Absolutely amazing!

We stayed a week and loved every minute of it. We arrived to a clean cottage, and the a/c was already on. Which was great since the day was so hot, and after driving along time, it was nice not to have to wait for it to cool down. The cottage had everything we needed and the outside shower was perfect. Honestly, the photos were part of the reason why we booked the cottage, but it’s even better in person. Plenty of room for a family of four. First you might think a pond would be filthy, but it wasn’t. There was nice soft sand, with little to no rocks. The peddle boat, kayak, and paddle board kept us occupied for the week when we were there. The location of the cottage is great. We were close to a Shaw’s, Target, and plenty of stores. We were about ten minutes from Cape Cod Baseball games where we were able to get several baseballs hit as souvenirs. We were able to travel to Boston twice and it took us just over an hour (Do the Fenway tour). We went on a whale watch out of Plymouth that was about 20 minutes away. The whale watch is a must. We also visited many parts of the Cape, and it never felt too far away. After our day trips, we came back to the cottage, relaxed near the pond, grilled, and would have s’mores by the fire. It was so quiet at night, it felt like we were the only ones around. Communication with the host was excellent and thankfully no issues to report. If the opportunity came again, we would be a repeat customer. This gave us the chance to create family memories that will never be forgotten.

Great location, excellent commuciation with host

The property was exactly as expected based on the pictures and description. The location was perfect for some quiet while still being close to my family I was visiting. The host was very responsive to any questions and with giving information about check in and throughout process.

Perfect getaway for our little family

The location was absolutely perfect. Shallow,.warm water for the boys to play in. Decent sized yard for the dog to sniff around. Awesome fire pit for s'mores and adult beverages at night. Bed was a little firmer than I like, but everything else definitely made up for that. Hope to make a visit back here next summer!!

Wonderful vacation!!

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. Van is a fabulous host, attentive and responds very quickly. Easy check in, the place was very clean, the cottage very comfortable. The view of the pond is fantastic and swimming in it was so much fun. Shopping is 5 minutes away yet your surrounded by so much beauty. We want to come back!!!!

Overall it was okay

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 dogs for my sisters wedding weekend. The property was as described- right on a lake with nice back door views. It was, overall, pretty clean inside. There was some leftover food in the fridge- beers, salsa, used butter. Not sure if those were from the people who stayed before us or not. The owner communicated via text that there was coffee and tea available in the cabinets, which was a nice touch. Check in and out was very easy with a lock box on the property. As I stated, my husband and I brought our 2 dogs with us. At home, they sleep on the couch at night. We know that not everyone is a fan of dogs on the furniture (although all dog friendly rentals we’ve previously stayed at were okay with it- as communicated by the owners when booking), so we brought blankets to cover the couch, as a courtesy. Saturday morning, I received a text from the owner asking us to keep the dogs off of the couch and inquiring about us traveling with their own dog beds. I’m not sure the placement of the “outdoor” ring cameras, but to me, it appeared based on that text message that one of them probably has a view of the living room. The back sliding glass doors do not have a window covering/blinds. I wish the actual location of the cameras was disclosed, as after that text my husband and I felt uncomfortable with staying inside the house with the dogs. We did crate our dogs when we weren’t home to ensure there would be no issues. We paid to stay through check out on Sunday, but left late Saturday night after the wedding. Overall the stay was okay for us, since we only stayed one night.

Great pond front cottage

We enjoyed our week at the cottage on the pond. What a beautiful site to wake up to and go to bed each night! Clear water. Great dock and paddleboat/kayak/row boat! Big outdoor shower! Very quiet peaceful location. Great communicative owners. Convenient location! Cottage had everything we needed.

Quiet Weekend Away

We loved our little weekend away! The host was very responsive and helpful with anything we needed. The place was very clean and check in and out were a breeze. It can be hard to find a pet friendly rental but this was perfect! We loved the location on the lake and look forward to visiting again in the summer.
