  • Strand Island è un'isola privata di 45 acri situata su un eccellente lago da pesca - Lago Pelican di 11.000 acri a Orr, Minnesota ... non preoccuparti ... abbiamo un pontone da noleggiare se non possiedi la tua barca! Situato a 3 ore e 40 minuti da Minneapolis. La cabina principale completamente rinnovata di 108 anni ha 8 camere da letto, ogni camera ha il suo antico lavandino. Ci sono 1. 50 bagni, una cucina completamente ristrutturata con due frigoriferi e due congelatori, un camino in pietra, una veranda e un enorme portico schermato con tavoli da gioco e 4 letti oscillanti sospesi al soffitto ... C'è anche una sauna con doccia , una lavatrice e asciugatrice e una casetta di legno di 75 anni che può ospitare quattro e ha un tavolo da gioco.
    Ci sono altri due edifici ... uno è una sala giochi con un tavolo da air hockey e l'altro è una cabina TV o una sala cinematografica con una TV a grande schermo ... non abbiamo la TV via cavo, ma abbiamo una Apple TV caricato con tonnellate di film per i giorni di pioggia!
    L'isola è di 45 acri totalmente privati, non sviluppati e selvaggi: esplora i boschi o getta una linea al largo del molo. Questa è l'unica casa sull'isola !! Il Pelican Lake di 11.000 acri è eccellente per la pesca del crappie e del bass, la nautica o gli sport acquatici.

    Hai bisogno di una barca? Possiamo noleggiare il nostro pontone per $ 700 a settimana! È un pontone di 21 piedi con un motore da 50 cavalli e il nostro custode ti incontrerà al molo con il pontone per darti consigli sull'operazione .... oppure puoi portare le tue barche per pescare o sciare. Ci sono posti per 8 auto per parcheggiare sulla terraferma a Deer Lodge e un molo per caricare facilmente la barca quando arrivi Strand Island è a circa 10 minuti di barca dal molo a Deer Lodge ... o circa 1 miglio dalla terraferma . L'isola sarà tutta tua per vagare, pescare, giocare o raccogliere lamponi in totale solitudine.
    Fai un giro in kayak intorno ai 9500 piedi di costa o nel vicino parco statale di Big Island, un'isola vicina di 210 acri di proprietà dello Stato di Mn. Hai l'intera isola tutta per te - nessun'altra cabina sull'isola - gioca, esplora, fai un'escursione o pesca una delle numerose baie private.

    Ci sono due kayak lì per il vostro uso e una barca a remi di metallo a fondo piatto.

    C'è anche un grande campo in erba ... per giocare a palla da calcio o calcio per i bambini.

Wonderful property

Family Vacation

Our family spent a wonderful week on Strand Island enjoy the natural beauty and great accommodations of the main lodge and surrounding facilities. Fishing from the dock, enjoying bonfires and seclusion up North was enjoyed by everyone. We appreciate the ability to stay at this incredible retreat.

The place was amazing!!! We are so thankful for the time we could spend at the island as a family. The kitchen was stocked so well that it made preparing food for our crew easy. The beach part was nice for our littles to play. The TV room was a fun get away area for our teens to hang out. The beds were comfortable enough. I was worried about the small cabin beds being comfortable - my young adult boys stayed there and said it was good. They enjoyed having that area so they could set up all their fishing gear. There were many areas to hang out in the cabin from the large kitchen table to the beautiful sun room to the screened porch. The boys loved the field area to play wiffle ball. We have no major complaints of this property and overall everything was as we expected or above! The caretaker Deb was so kind and extremely responsive to any questions we had. We plan to be back next year!

Hi, we really enjoyed our stay. Deb the manager was excellent. Riley, the grounds guy was awesome. The Cabin was great. Would stay again. Enjoyed the fishing. Looking forward to coming back. Love the sunset and the moonlight.

Our August family summer vacation on Strand Island was perfect. Large cabin with many rooms for the large group we had. Plenty of space inside, the wrap around porch was absolutely perfect for games and the kids loved the swinging beds. We made use of the large outside field area and had many competitive games of wiffle ball. The swimming area was great, and the kayaks were used daily. The views and sunsets were amazing. We definitely recommend Strand Island for a large group get away.

Great week!

We had a great family vacation. Despite the weather not cooperating, there was plenty of room for the 17 of us to hang out indoors waiting for the rain to subside. The lake is quiet and the wildlife so much fun to see. The property could use some updating but for the most part very accomodating for a large group.

Perfect getaway

This waa our chosen place for my husband and his USMC budies to get together. What an amazing place to stay. The charm and beauty of the island made it feel like home. We all relaxed so much we slept in every day and the kids kept busy kayaking and exploring. We have already booked it for next year. Highly recommended.

A great family reunion

What a beautiful place for a family reunion with the 13 of us. The historic main cabin is charmingly old school and has a great porch. We enjoyed hanging out there on cool rainy days. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to cook in. Loved having a table that could accommodate us all. There is a nice swimming beach, lots of water toys and games and a great fire pit. We plan to come back again

Amazing Property

Three families enjoyed a great Memorial day weekend. Kids ages 9 to 15 had a blast and didn't get bored! Parents had a blast. So much to do, kayak, paddle board, swim and finish the night with a Sauna. The owners were very responsive and the caretaker does an amazing job of making you feel totally at home. Definitely coming back soon!

Family Vaca 2024

We were looking for a place that would fit our whole family (my husband and I, kids and grandkids) that would be fun for all and this definitely checked all the boxes, to get away, for a whole week and disconnect and just spend time together was amazing. The kids were never bored, between fishing, swimming, boating, paddle boarding, kayaking, woofle ball games and exploring and the few times it rained they had the game room and movie room to hang out in. The older boys loved having their own space in the movie room. We loved ever minute!! Thank you!

Magical

My wife and I booked the Strand Island property for a week to celebrate our anniversary with family and friends. Everything turned out just as we had hoped … lots of opportunities for the adults and kids of various ages in our group to enjoy the lake house. The kids loved the beach, fishing from the dock (they pulled pan fish out of the water constantly), the hanging beds on the porch, and the special game cabin. The adults enjoyed the large kitchen, comfortable beds, multiple places to sit and visit. Everything was clean and well kept. The caretakers were so helpful and instantly responded when we had questions. And the loons were a magical presence through out our stay!

Can’t wait to come back!

We had our family reunion here for a week and absolutely loved it! There were so many things to do that we didn’t even get a chance to explore it all! We rented the pontoon boat as well and had a blast fishing on huge Pelican Lake. We had all ages, from 1-70 and everyone had a blast. Deb was amazing to work with and checked in on us regularly. The fishing was fantastic, especially from the docks, the sauna was a favorite, we used the fire pits multiple times, and the main house was great for everyone hanging out together at nights. My favorite part was the benches and fire pit a short walk from the main house where you could watch the sun set. We can’t wait to stay there again!

Strand Island is magical! We brought 16 teenage girls and they loved everything about the island. At first, we were worried about having only two bathrooms in the main house. But the sauna shower was a big hit. A girl also enjoyed the two-seater outhouse. Having a sink in each of the eight bedrooms in the house made a huge difference, too. We were also worried that the kitchen wouldn’t be big enough to cook for 20, but it was perfect. The kitchen amenities were high-quality and plentiful. In the house there is a full refrigerator, and a refrigerator/freezer combo. An additional deep freezer and wine fridge are in the TV Cabin. We especially loved the wildlife and nature. Loons, turtles, geese, and a fleet of 43 pelicans were there constantly. The girls caught one bass after another, just off of the dock. There is also a walking path through the woods that runs a half a mile to the north point and a make-shift baseball field behind the house. There are two fire rings and a dock wide enough for 10 people to do yoga.Overall, what was most exciting about the island was that feeling like you’re stepping back in time. The original 1920s decor and art blew us away.We already booked our stay for next summer.

Excellent Stay!!!

Property was amazing. Our extended family had fun boating, fishing, playing yard games, relaxing by the firepit, etc. Communication with the property manager was open and easy. The pontoon boat worked great for us all week, no issues. Only thing that we might of done differently was to buy our food in Orr, instead of bringing it up with us. The grocery store in Orr had a lot more than I expected and is only about 10 minutes from where you leave your car to get to the island. The boat ride from the car area to the island is short. Fantastic stay for extended family of 13!

Awesome place to relax and get away!

We went w our whole family. Parents, kids & grandkids. Everyone had a great time. Fishing. Relaxing. Playing games. Kayaking. We got a fishing guide 1 day to show us some spots. Cabin was equipped w everything we needed. Deb was great to help us get acquainted and answer any of our questions. We took badminton along and they had a yard plenty big enough for a daily tourny. The sauna was awesome to warm up as the days grew cooler toward evening. Our big kids loved sleeping in the movie house. The little kids loved the swinging beds in the screen porch. And enough bedrooms for the rest of us. We rented the pontoon for the week too which was nice to fit more kids for fishing. Beach had nice sand. They have a nice big grill and Blackstone which was perfect for breakfast. Thanks for the great time!!!

Fun for All Ages!

Our group of thirteen consisted of kids ranging in age from six years old to teenagers and it was the most amazing thing to not hear “I’m bored” once during our seven day stay! This incredibly unique property has so much to offer for anyone looking to slow down and take a step back in time. The house itself is full of history from its earlier days and one could spend hours just admiring all the treasures that make the home so unique and charming. We enjoyed hours of amazing fishing, catching many large fish just off the docks and banks of the property. We did rent the pontoon which I would recommend if you plan to make any trips off the island or just want to go out for a fishing or bird watching cruise. The loons seemed to really enjoy our bay and their wails and calls are a constant presences. We spotted multiple bald eagles and on an excursion around a few of the local islands saw pelicans, swans, osprey, and black scoters!At the end of the day, or if you’re just looking to take a break from all the fishing, canoeing, and paddle boarding, the sauna, game room, and movie house were big hits with kids and adults alike. Everyone had such an amazing time, we hope we will someday make it back to this incredible island!

Secluded island paradise

Excellent stay for a group bachelor/bachelorette party!

The property was amazing, actually quite bigger than we even thought. They had plenty of towels, kitchenware, etc to enjoy your stay. Can't express enough how friendly and welcoming the caretaker Deb is. Upon your arrival they help you with everything you need and are very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

4 generation week long stay

We had a great time on the island. So many items are provided you really just need your bathing suit and beach towel! The caretakers are easy to work with if you need anything. Our family loved this vacation.

Rustic chic home away from home

Tim and Nicole's communication from inquiry to check out was prompt and professional. They regularly checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. The rental was just as described and the pictures are very accurate. It still took our breath away when we arrived. Our group consisted of 4 families, ages 1-55 and we all enjoyed our stay as there was plenty to do (including midday naps). There was good fishing for a few meals. We caught sunnies, crappies, perch, large mouth and northern pike off the dock, next to the boathouse and around the island (when we took the pontoon out). There was a small beach that all the kids enjoyed for hours and kayaks, a canoe and paddle boards for the adults. On rainy and cooler days, we made use of the movie house and recreation house. The kitchen was well stocked to cook for a large group as well as intentional in design to ensure everyone was able to eat together. The grounds are clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our get away- we were not ready to leave and will definitely be returning!! Deb, the caretaker, was also very pleasant when we met her at check out. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us! If you're thinking of renting this property, DO IT! You won't regret it!
