  • Welcome to your coastal retreat in Owls Head, where sweeping views of Rockland Harbor set the tone for an unforgettable Maine escape. Recently refreshed in Spring 2026 with new flooring and thoughtfully updated living room furnishings, this beautifully positioned home blends comfort, style, and a front-row seat to life on the water—from lobster boats heading out at dawn to sailboats and ferries gliding by throughout the day.

    Inside, natural light fills the home, highlighting vaulted wood ceilings, expansive windows, and an open living area designed for gathering, unwinding, and taking in the scenery. The updated living room offers a relaxed, coastal feel with fresh furnishings that invite you to settle in after a day on the water. The main-floor primary bedroom enjoys calming harbor views and now features a full en suite bathroom, creating a private and comfortable retreat.

    Upstairs, two additional bedrooms provide cozy accommodations, connected by a charming catwalk that overlooks the living room below and frames the harbor beyond—a unique architectural feature that enhances the home's airy design and sense of place.

    New for 2026, the home now includes a private fourth bedroom which is more like a studio suite, offering a flexible second-floor primary experience. Accessible from both inside the home and through its own exterior entrance, this thoughtfully designed space features a bed, comfortable living area, TV, kitchen, and a full bathroom. With water views and its own sense of separation, it's an ideal setup for guests seeking added privacy, or multi-generational travel.

    In total, the home offers 2.5 bathrooms, including the en suite bath in the main-floor primary, a full bathroom in the studio suite, and a convenient half guest bathroom located just off the kitchen.

The view of the bay from this house, it simply stunning. We loved exploring the beach, grilling dinner on the deck and relaxing in the evenings. The shared bathroom worked for our family, but it could be a little awkward for some groups. Wish there was a dining table, and the living room furniture could use a refresh - very worn sofas were rough on the lower back after awhile. We'd book again - it's a 5 min drive into Rockland.

Hatetoquitit lives up to its name

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed alone for the first 2 weeks, loving the view and main bedroom. My family joined me for the last week. Then we missed having a table inside to eat meals at together. Also the upstairs bedrooms were quite warm until the weather cooled off. But everything was very clean and serviceable with lovely linens. The only thing I missed in the kitchen was a hand mixer or whisk. How do other renters make pancakes?! Thanks to the Tides to Pines staff, who were very helpful with my initial inability to open the door! I wish I had been able to use the elaborate tv setup! Too complex for me.

Incredible views

This is a beautiful property. The views from the windows and deck are incredible. I short walk down some wobbly stairs and you are on the beach. Minutes from Downtown Rockland but still very secluded and private. You do not notice the Tennant in the attached apartment much at all. We enjoyed our stay and may even stay there again. While it was beautiful and we overall we had a great visit, there are 2 things you should note before booking this property... One, there is no Air Conditioning. Not a problem most of the time in Maine, where typically a good fan is all you need. Unfortunately when we were there (Mid July), it was unseasonably hot, and as a result so with this house. Even with windows open and ceiling fans running at their highest setting, it got really hot. Two, there is only one shower. Lot's of beds to accommodate large groups/families. But you are all sharing the same shower. Not really a big deal, but again something to note. Again, overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend others, just take those 2 things into consideration.
