The Ocean View Retreat ha una fantastica vista sull'oceano. Si trova a pochi passi dall'oceano e dal campo da golf. Guarda e ascolta le onde che si infrangono mentre ti siedi e ti rilassi. Guardando fuori dal finestrino o seduto sulla veranda, si possono vedere delfini, lontre di mare, foche, balene grigie, orche, pellicani, gabbiani e persino cervi. La nostra profusione di fauna selvatica, alberi e fiori selvatici sono alcuni dei nostri numerosi tesori.

Le vedute del tramonto e dell'alba sono spettacolari contro le onde dell'oceano. Dall'altra parte della strada ci sono spiagge sabbiose e aree con piscina di marea; un ottimo posto per guardare le barche a vela che passano e respirare l'aria pulita e fresca dell'oceano.

La casa ha una vista mozzafiato sull'oceano dal soggiorno, camera da letto anteriore, sala da pranzo e cucina. Ci sono viste parziali sull'oceano dalla seconda e terza camera da letto.

Nelle vicinanze, a pochi passi a piedi o in bicicletta, si trovano Asilomar Beach e Lover's Point. Il percorso a piedi è proprio dall'altra parte della strada. Che si tratti di una corsa mattutina o di una passeggiata rilassante, questo percorso ti conduce lungo la vista sull'oceano. Kayak e noleggio biciclette si trovano nelle vicinanze. Point Pinos, il più antico faro a funzionamento continuo è proprio dietro l'angolo ed è raggiungibile a piedi. Downtown Pacific Grove con i suoi negozi e ristoranti caratteristici è solo una breve corsa in bicicletta o in auto.

Se sei un golfista, puoi portare le tue mazze da golf e raggiungere la club house. Il campo pratica è proprio dietro l'angolo se hai voglia di colpire palline da golf. La penisola di Monterey offre una spettacolare scelta di campi da golf nella zona.
Questa accogliente casa è di circa 1.500 piedi quadrati con 3 camere da letto e 1,5 bagni. Una camera ha un bagno 1/2. Ogni camera è stata arredata con gusto per il vostro comfort. Comodi materassi, coperte morbide e lenzuola comode ti aiutano a dormire.

Il soggiorno offre spazio per rilassarsi con un libro, parlare o guardare un DVD della nostra biblioteca sul grande televisore ad alta definizione con audio surround. Oppure spegnilo e ascolta un CD o stazioni musicali sulla TV. Rannicchiarsi con una coperta accogliente, accendere il camino a gas e hai il posto perfetto per il relax e la pace.

La cucina è completamente attrezzata con tutto per fare un pasto squisito o uno spuntino semplice. Seduto al tavolo da pranzo si ha una vista sull'oceano e ampio cortile.

Divertiti a sederti al tavolo da picnic in teak mentre cucini quel pasto perfetto sulla barra del gas nel grande cortile. Divertenti luoghi tropicali in particolare per la vita all'aria aperta, si aggiungono all'atmosfera insieme a una grande fontana di delfini e al cortile. Sedie, asciugamani, borse da spiaggia, refrigeratore e un cestino da picnic rendono facile preparare un pranzo per le uscite in spiaggia.

Questo è il luogo perfetto per una vacanza in coppia o per trascorrere del tempo con la famiglia e gli amici. È un posto meraviglioso per sedersi, rilassarsi e abbracciare la bellezza dell'oceano mentre si è a proprio agio all'Ocean View Retreat.

A delightful getaway!

For two of us this is a comfortable place to stay. The living area allows a constant sea view. The kitchen is big enough to enjoy home cooked meals and had all of the “tools” we wanted. Great laundry equipment. The attached garage kept the sea spray off the windshield. Golf is close by. Try Tosties in Pacific Grove for breakfast (we went back more than once). And if you happen to be a weaver, check out the Carmel Crafts Guild. We are already booked again for next year!

Comfort, Views and Beauty

We once again had the pleasure of living for a month in Evelyn’s beautiful home for a second time. Believe me when I say, it doesn’t get old. The bedrooms, kitchen, living room, 1.5 baths are all clean and very comfortable. When entertaining out of town guests for a week, the home provided plenty of privacy and space. The backyard is beautiful and had several lunches sitting in the sun at the large teak table But it is the front of her home and the magnificent views of Monterey Bay that make the stay memorable. Thank you Evelyn once again for your hospitality. We will be back.

Extraordinary location

We spent 7 weeks at the property during winter 2022. The location was so amazing that we extended our original contract for an additional 3 weeks. The bed was comfortable. We used the front bedroom and the ambient light from the neighbors was noticeable but neither my wife nor I were troubled by it. The heat was adequate and reliable - we live in Vermont and are accustomed to being warm indoors and we were in Pacific Grove. I would be negligent if I didn't note a couple small problems. A drawer or two under the counter were damaged and the kitchen faucet is really in need of repair or replacement it is impossible to easily adjust the handle for a warm temperature (either very hot or cold). Otherwise, the kitchen is well equipped. Were neither of these repaired we would rent this place again in a heartbeat... and we tried. Evelyn was helpful with questions we posed and when we lost a key her local contact had a replacement for us the next day. Terrific response. Finally, did I mention location? The coastal walking path passes in front of the house and you can walk well into the beginning of the 17 mile drive shoreline. Had you the ambition, I imagine you could manage an 8 or 10 mile walk if you started near the Aquarium in Monterey, out and back. The sea, surge and swell, and smashing waves and weather, and Whimbrels and Oyster Catchers, every bit, entrancing beauty. Remember.

Covid Getaway

Wrong Code in lock box at check in. Wrong internet code. Several calls/hours to figuring out the issue. No garage door opener. BBQ did not work. Oven dirty. No Landline. Cell reception poor. Half bath sink valve leaked on floor. (Fixed it). Half bath toilet does not flush properly, and Handle broken. Master bed is BAD! Gas Fireplace puts out Zero Heat. Waste of gas. Great Views!

Location and Beauty Rolled Into One

This perfectly located beautiful blue house sits right across Ocean View Blvd. where you awake each morning to the crashing sounds of waves and beauty that cannot be described. Our stay here was very enjoyable and easy to “move in” to and get settled for our month’s stay. Evelyn’s home provides plenty of room, great kitchen with all the amenities, fireplace that we used in the evening, comfortable furniture and bedding and a beautiful backyard that almost has a park like setting feel. The house is very well cared for and clean. The massive front windows in the living room allow you to watch the very active, ever changing Monterey Bay; with walkers, runners, bikers, surfers, divers…with an added bonus of otters and seals floating and playing in the surf. You literally walk across the street and start your adventures everyday by walking to Asilomar Beach to the west or to Cannery Row to the east. Downtown Pacific Grove offers you many choices for eating and shopping. Hop in your car and tour the scenic 17-mile drive through Pebble Beach, drive down Highway 1 to Big Sur. The activities are endless and easy to navigate…and close! Thank you, Evelyn, for your hospitality and allowing us to experience a little piece of heaven.

Amazing View

The property owner (Evelyn) was a genuinely nice person. She was extremely helpful and accommodating. The property was clean and contained everything a family might need for vacation. The washer and dryer were a big plus. The view from the large front windows was the highlight of our stay. The views of the Monterey Bay are breathtaking. A+++

Wonderful Week

Ocean View Retreat

This is a very good rental for those folks looking for great views, wonderful walking trails, and space for outdoor relaxing and gear storage. It's right across the street from the ocean and while lots of traffic on weekends, the surf really hides that. We could store our kayaks and bikes and still park the vehicle in the garage. It's about a 20-30 min walk to downtown & restaurants which for us was fine (particularly during Covid times). Fully equipped kitchen (we cooked Thanksgiving dinner there) and had most everything you could want.

This property will be our new place to stay when in Pacific Grove, I did miss a full length mirror and a makeup mirror but other than that it felt like HOME to us.

Perfect location!

The house is in the perfect location with a view of the ocean, cypress trees and waves breaking on rocks right across the street. The layout of the house was perfect for our group and we enjoyed breakfast with a view every morning!

We loved this beach house

We really enjoyed this beach house. It was chilly the days we were there and sitting near the fireplace with a view of the ocean was quite lovely. Yes, the road is between you and the ocean, but that is true all along this stretch of coast. It's really lovely. The location is fabulous. Walk across the street and you are on the little path that lets you walk along the ocean in either direction. We also quite enjoyed the large backyard with it's purple pride of madeira plants in full bloom (April, but they stay in bloom a long time). If you are a person who is bothered by light, be aware that the front room is very close to the road and the shades are (thankfully, IMHO) not darkening shades, so you do experience car lights in the room from time to time at night. There is not a lot of traffic at night, but it's non-zero. We're good sleepers so it wasn't an issue for us, but if you're a light sleeper or one for whom the coming/going of light is a problem, you might want to sleep in the back bedroom. On the other hand...the front bedroom has the best ocean view, and the Buddha! The house is comfortable, well appointed, and right at the beach. It has parking for 2 cars (one in garage, one in driveway) and beach chairs you can use. It's really a lovely beach house!!

Enjoyed our stay in this lovely ocean front home. Great view of the waves from the entire living room and dining room area. We enjoyed walks along the ocean every morning. Lots of restaurants and golf near by. Our family enjoyed a very relaxing weekend here.

Great place and location

Great house with a great location! My wife and I and our three kids loved it. Great for families. My 3 year old girl had fun with the toys that were provided. My 8 and 11 year old boys liked exploring the beach right across the street. The house had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable. Great location for not only Monterey but also Carmel. Would definitely stay here again!

Loved the location right across the road from the ocean! Pacific grove is a lovely town and close to the start of 17 mile drive (highly recommend!) and Cannery Row. The house was darling! Beds/pillows weren’t great, but the living room and kitchen were comfortable. The bathroom could use an update, but worked just fine. Everything was clean. Owner was easy to work with and responds quickly. The neighbors don’t keep the lights off at night like the rules call for and so shine into one of the bedrooms, but that’s not the owners fault. Overall, enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
