6/10 Soddisfacente

The room design of room 110 has a flaw that the main room light has a on/ off switch tied to a timer and motion sensor rather than a normal on/ off switch.
I booked the Charles to attend a conference at Asilomar but also so I could join an online mindfulness retreat in the early morning and late night. We had lots of meditation and lessons where we needed to be present (and not move). The lights would turn off every 30 min! I tried to wave towards the sensor a few times but they would not turn back on. I had to stand to activate the sensor for the light to turn on. It’s very rude to do during the mindfulness teachings and meditation so I just sat in the dark. I ended up moving the tiny end table to be close to the desk lamp knowing that the main light would turn off. The natural light is not good in the room so the extra light is necessary.
I expect a 4-star hotel would have considered how a guest can live comfortably in the room. Lights are essential.
The design of the room is aesthetically nice and I appreciate the respect to the historical nature of the building. The staff were all great. However, I will not stay again because of the light.
People who want a staycation and work remotely would have difficulty also.
