There are numerous hiking trails and lakes in the area for the outdoor enthusiast. Once the snow settles in, the home is located just minutes from your skiing, snow boarding, ice fishing, or snow machining paradise.
Just a few minutes drive to Hatcher Pass, which offers numerous opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, sledding or snow machining.

Enjoy the newer Skeetawk Ski Resort, a unique Alpine ski area with their lift and refreshment area. Or, travel further up the road to Government Peak Recreation Area which in winter offers groomed, lighted recreation trails for some 4.5 miles. The Matanuska Loop is 1.36 miles. The Susitna Loop is 1.29 miles. The Denali/ Competition loops offer 3.9 miles of unlit, challenging, advanced level trails, featuring long steep up hills and fast technical down hills. Or continue further to Independence Mine with the trails. Whatever you pleasure, whether you enjoy cross country or Alpine skiing, sledding or a brisk walk or machining, Hatcher Pass has an area for you. The Willow side of Hatcher pass is open to snow machines.

Summer:
Go into Palmer to enjoy Friday Fling, climb the Butte, visit the reindeer farm, watch paragliders, visit Knik glacier, hike on Matanuska glacier, drive to Hatcher Pass to visit Independence Mine State Park- an abandoned gold mine or pick wild berries or hike the many trails, visit one of the many other available hiking trails or lakes in the area.

Quiet time is 10 p.m. - 8 a.m. Caretaker lives on property in cabin. This residence is the perfect place for small respectful gatherings. Drunkenness and loud parties will NOT be tolerated.
