“This place feels like an odd mix — some aspects feel like a hip boutique hotel while others seem a bit “budget.” There is no actual lobby or dedicated hotel staff in the evening, so you collect your key from the large bar on the ground floor. The rooms are nicely decorated and well appointed (eg, nice bathroom fixtures, Nespresso machine in room), though quite dark. Good location in historic city centre. Nice touches like a refrigerator on the corridor that has bottles of cold filtered water.”

I bagni presentano il solito problema inglese della mancanza di miscelatore nel lavandino, risulta quindi complicato lavarsi comodamente. “The building is very old. With this comes issues with either a very steep staircase up to the rooms or use of an emergency exit at the rear (which is made of metal steps with a precarious old mat dangerously situated at the top). The room was lovely but it was very hot as situated above the kitchen. The weather was forecasted to be 28/29 degrees and I had to ask for a fan. “Lontano 5km dal Festival Reading. Bisogna prendere il taxi sempre perché si trova in campagna. La corsa a Reading station o Reading festival costa 10£. Internet è incluso soltanto nella reception. Non ci habno communicato questa cosa e abbiamo dovuto pagare 3£ a giorno a telefono. Per il resto molto bello e decorato con gusto.”

There doesn't seem to be a way of changing that to English. Premier Suites in Reading gave us a very large apartment, well equipped, pleasant staff and good value. If you are driving, getting to the hotel involves a hellish one-way system and the entrance is not well sign-posted for the car park. You will be seeing a lot of Reading, several...

“We stayed at this hotel for one night, coming from London for the reading Festival. We arrived around 12 pm so the rooms were not ready but we could check-in and leave our luggage. The location is fantastic if you're arriving by train as it is right in front of the station. We were back later and were given the room key. Our room was quiet, had a very nice decor and modern appliances. The check-out was at 12 pm, and we really enjoyed that we could sleep a bit longer than the average 11 am check...

“It's a good budget stay but I won't be staying again as the room wasn't very clean. Very hard to sleep at night as its a small room, toilet was out side the room which isn't great and also the shower is out and is a shared toilet and shower. Which when I book I was under the impression it was a Ensuite but its not. Like I said it budget friendly . Hope that helps any one. The staff was good.”
