“The Viking is one of the 1950s-era motels that are common on Interstate Avenue, from the days when it was one of the main arterials for visitors to Portland from the north. It has been renovated and well-maintained, though, and is a good choice for people looking for reasonably-priced accommodation in north Portland. It is very close to a light rail stop, and also to bike lanes and bicycle-friendly streets.”

“My husband was worried a little about crime in the area, because Portland has a homeless problem. I felt totally ok when we got there and staff told me the safest place to park. I think the man’s name was Abraham? He was so sweet and helpful and I felt so welcomed after a long drive. Room was spacious and clean and suited us well. Great place to stay!”

“My husband, daughter and I were traveling back home and stayed one night because we know courtyard by Marriott from past trips. We are so happy we stayed at this hotel. My husband is disabled and they allowed us to check in early, we got a room on the top floor with a balcony and a beautiful view. We will be staying here again for sure. We loved the gated garage as well. Parking $15 but worth it.”
