Would not recommend Apt. - not safe area
When we arrived at the apartment (albeit 45 min early) the room had not been cleaned from the previous guests. Shortly after arriving the cleaning person showed up. Overall the apartment had a "tired" look. Our most important concern was the safety of the neighborhood. Our first night we experienced someone trying to break into the Apartment at 1:53AM. A person outside was forcefully trying to gain entrance multiple times - only after us screaming and turning the lights on did the person(s) leave. The experience frightened us. We also noticed prostitutes hanging out on this block both in the morning and at night. We immediately sent a message to the owners requesting to be moved to another apartment - and it took many hours until they responded - but would not physically move us - and by this time it was early afternoon. On the second night at 4am screaming in the alley - again we were frightened someone might try to break in - we placed our luggage and chairs up against the door. Outside the alley smelled awful.
While the apartment looked charming in the picture, the location was very bad. Because of this experience I will not use VRBO again.
