“We had a fantastic 3 days at Addo River-View Lodge. Our hostess, Leanne, was fabulous and very helpful and informative. The proximity of the location to Addo Elephant Park was ideal and we booked a guided full day tour there. We also enjoyed a sunset boat trip on the Sundays River and climbed the sand dunes. The local restaurant, Taste of Africa, was excellent and less than a 3 minute walk. Highly recommended.”

“The accommodation itself is good, the large garden is well maintained, the dinner and breakfast were good, the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, our room smelled very musty, brown water initially ran out of the tap, which didn't make a good impression.”

“Absolutely loved our stay. We had 3 nights (spent one day self-driving in Addo Elephant Park and one day on a safari at a nearby private game reserve). Lovely place with really lovely and friendly staff and good food. Excellent location near the entrance to Addo Elephant Park. Highly recommend staying here!”

“Wir hatten ein hübsches Chalet mit reetgedecktem Dach. Das Auto parkte direkt daneben unter einem Baum. Auf dem Gelände gibt es Springbok und andere Tiere zur ständigen Beobachtung. Auch ein Schwimmbad mit Liegen und Schattenplatz ist auf dem Gelände. Das Hotel liegt an einer Straße und an einer Farm. Beide können Lärm verursachen, wie auch einige Wildvögel oder Tiere aus dem am Hotel gelegenen Tierpark mit sehenswerter Großvoliere.”

“Siamo stati al Hlosi Lodge due giorni partecipando a 4 safari. Ranger molto preparati e disponibili. Bellissima l'esperienza del safari anche per i bambini. Hotel accogliente. Buono il brunch e la cena anche se la scelta di vini per essere in Sudafrica era scarsa. Consiglio questa esperienza più che altro per la bellezza dei luoghi e degli animali.”

“Die Bilder der Unterkunft vermitteln mir eine gehobene Mittelkasse, was ich persönlich nicht so empfand. Die Couch im Wohnzimmer ist durchgesessen und weißt starke Gebrauchsspuren auf, welche durch eine Decke verdeckt werden. Ca 100m neben an befindet sich eine Tankstelle, ein SPAR und ein Parkplatz, welcher rege von großen Trucks genutzt wird, Obwohl das Appartment zur Fluß Seite liegt, empfand ich entspanntes relaxen auf dem großzügigen Balkon etwas schwierig. “Comfortable, with easy access to Grahamstown approx 1hr, Addo Elephant park approx 15 min and Port Elizabeth 30 min. Staff are friendly and helpful. ”

“Very beautiful historic property with great views & location. On negative side -large airy village units only have warmish water not hot - village units outdoor showers had waist high weeds - supper menus are 5 course set menus that are repeated & are expensive for quality - restaurant staff lacking management & training - receptionists could do hostessing/oversight at meal times & spot checks on housekeeping/condition of units and gardens to support and train staff but do not - lack of comfy...

“Decent place however in our room the ceiling fan did not work and we could not control the air con except for the temperature when we told the staff we were told that they couldn't check every room. The room needed some updating.”

“Die Mitarbeiter im Restaurant waren freundlich und bemüht. Keine Zimmerreinigung. Nur ein Handtuch für zwei Personen. Pool sehr dreckig, somit nicht benutzbar. Besitzer und Manager uninteressiert und und unfreundlich. Preis/Leistung schlecht -> Unterkunft an sich in Ordnung aber zu teuer. Würden hier nicht wieder hin gehen.”

“Die Lage des Cottage ist perfekt. Vom Bett aus konnten wir Elefanten und Kudu-Antilopen im Addo Park sehen. Aber auch direkt hinter dem Zaun des Grundstücks waren Warzenschweine und Antilopen unterwegs. Es war sauber, und alles da, was man benötigt. Die Feuerstelle lädt zum gemütlichen Zusammensitzen bei einem leckeren Wein ein. ”
