I don't believe I realized the age of the home, dueto the recent renovated online photos when I reserved this property. Check-in was easy & it has some unique property moments throughout. The biggest issue was the lack of air circulation, especially throughout the top floor, which made the AC really struggle. We stayed for 3 evenings. When we initially got there, we set the thermostat for 70 with it being 88 outside. The coolest it got on the main floor was low of 72 the following morning, but it was 84 upstairs when we went to bed. There was an attic fan, but no notification that it's inoperable. Very few drapes, room darkening shades, or curtains were provided, so the sun lightens the rooms between 5:30 & 6 am. Lots of electrical cords running from multiple rooms as there aren't enough plugs in the walls. Our 2 grandbabies (3 & 8 months) struggled to sleep in the heat. I purchased a box fan to place in the 4 twin room window, which was the hottest area, & that helped, but not until the wee hours of the morning. My sister was in charge of my niece's wedding cake, which was transported from the Midwest, & it was so hot in the kitchen that two thirds of the entire cake layers slide off in the fridge due to it being unable to set, requiring a 10 pm run for sheet cakes for replacement for the wedding reception the next day. Unfortunately, the lack of interior air conditioning with no discount/reimbursement for this issue resulted in the 3 stars.
