We go to Fort Walton Beach Florida every year, this year we decided to stay at Gulf Dunes, it was a wonderful stay, so wonderful that we stayed an extra day and we will definitely stay there again.

We were very pleased with the condo. It was clean and had everything we needed for our long weekend. We loved being able to see the Gulf from our room. During our stay only one elevator was working so that did cause long waits but that was the only issue we had.

The view in the units and the closeness of it on the beach. The resort is quite and not a lot of people. This is our 8th year to stay at this resort. All but one year was fabulous. The unit had bugs but all other years we have stayed was perfect. I will return again. One suggestion the only thing missing on these units is a hot tub.

This was the most well-stocked unit I’d been in. It had Very Comfortable furniture. Nicely decorated- not overly beachy. Dan, the beach chair man, was super nice and informative about storms coming. My out-of-state guests were first time visitors and had a great time.

We had fun at the pool, tennis courts and volleyball net too. I think this might be one of the only places on the beach with a net! As for the room - also perfect, spacious, clean, organized and with everything you need. Love that it’s right across from mini golf and stewbys, too! Thanks for an awesome vacation! We will be back!

The 2 beds in the guest bedroom was great for all of the girls. The kitchen had everything we needed. The fridge has a water and ice dispenser which was awesome and unexpected. The pool is small and does get crowded, but the tradeoff is that the parking was easy and we always found a spot.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental was everything we wanted for the season. The unit rated a 10 in my opinion for layout and amenities. We love this location as it is away from the hustle of Destin yet easily accessible. Alliances were up to date and the cookware was useable which is not often the case. I probably wouldnt rent at the height of beach season as is right above the pool and would get quite noisy. I would definitely recommend this unit and will request it again for a great winter vaca to the beach.

NICE BUT NEEDS A REFRESH

Had some small issues one the first day. The shower head in the master bath and coffee maker not in working order. Sent an email and they were both fixed within 20 Mins Which was awesome. The unit wasn't very clean overall . Pink mold in the bathroom and a wet spot with mold on the wall by the bar in the kitchen. The master bedroom mattress was in dire need of replacement. Very hard and felt like sleeping on a stack of springs. Overall I'd stay there again if they got a new mattress and gave it a good deep clean.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Older, quiet location with beautiful beach that has recently been updated. AC can be adjusted, but resets itself automatically to 75+, so on those days/nights of 90+ temperatures and high humidity, it gets pretty stuffy! Floors and baseboards were dirty...did not walk barefoot; too grimy. Need to replace outdoor dining chairs and the rug in the living room (it was nasty). Kitchen was well equipped. Having washer/dryer was a huge plus. Consider replacing one full bed with a queen in the double room.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental unit was not as clean as with previous experiences at Gulf Dunes. Immediately noticeable was the dirty and sandy floor. My wife was not happy with the condition of the floor and ended up mopping the floor three times to get it clean. There was a mop in the unit but no mop bucket so she had to use a trash can for the water. Also disgusting was the rug under the coffee table. It left the bottoms of your feet black. It obviously hasn't been laundered or cleaned in a very long time. The bunk bed room had trash under the nightstand and under the bed.

Wonderful Vacation Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I had a great month at the beach even with the chilly temps. The condo is lovely and well kept. Office staff is so friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to my next trip.
