“Hotelanlage ist schön. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Außer an der Rezeption wurde man ignoriert als man als voll zahlender Gast auf einem Sofa schlafen sollte. Im Kids Club war gelegentlich jemand da, kam man aber mit einem Kind wurde sich nicht gekümmert. Das Essen war schlecht. Viel frittiertes, viel Reis, wenig Auswahl. Wir haben kaum etwas gegessen. Am Pool durfte ich an meinem Geburtstag kein Getränk zusammen nehmen. Kinder sind nicht erlaubt. Okay. Aber es geht freundlicher. Meine...

“It was the most unpleasant stay in Sri Lanka and in general in several years traveling in Asia. The receptionist was totally unfriendly, just interested in getting us out out the hotel....and we understood why: some rooms were under renovation, so there was noise from early in the morning through the day. Nobody addressed us any excuse or recognize any kind of compensation for that. The guy at the restaurant was superb and hostyle, trying to reduce breakfast against what was our right to receive...

“For us 33 Lake Terrace was the nicest hotel we stayed at during our time in Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautifully designed, the location at the lake is so peaceful and beautiful - simply amazing. On top of this Mr Panduka and the entire staff were exceptional, very discreet but always available and just very nice. “This was our 2nd stay at the Asian Jewel. Our return was based on our previous experience which was lovely staff, good food, clean and spacious room. The location is out of town but was easy/cheap to get tuk tuks and being situated next to the lagoon allowed us to see lots of beautiful birds from our balcony.
