Great Farmhouse
We stayed at the farmhouse for a weekend in April to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. The owners allowed us to check in early so we could decorate for the surprise. I was so excited to see that they left "feed" for us to feed all the animals. We had 4 kids all together, ages ranging from 9 to 14, and they loved feeding the animals and fishing in the pond. The back enclosed patio was perfect for us to gather and play board games. I highly recommend for a great time!

Beautiful property!!
Absolutely adored this stay and the beautiful property. The animals are so fun to feed and watch! My favorite part was the cats because they are super friendly and will cuddle with you while sitting on the porch. So sad I couldn’t take them with me :( If you are looking for a relaxing stay, this is the place!!

Soooooo relaxing
This was our 4th stay here. We have made an annual tradition. We love the peace and tranquility of the Farmhouse. Shane is so pleasant and down to earth. Already looking forward to next year!

Weekend getaway for all
We had all ages and dogs and everyone was happy! Kids loved the animals and feeding the cats daily and adults loved relaxing in the screen porch and watching the turkey and the chickens. Nice kitchen and enough room for us to enjoy our meals together. Convenient hiking right from the house to take the dogs on walks. Very nice stay!

Wonderful Property
We met to celebrate an early Christmas. 6 adults and 4 children under 9. It was wonderful, the house was decorated for the season and definitely exceeded our expectations. The kids had a blast too, feeding the animals and exploring the property and nearby state park. We also went to castle to see the lights which was a short 15 minutes away. I recommend for a little getaway.

Fun at the Farmhouse!
This was our 2nd stay at this clean, spacious, well equipped home. We spent our time visiting the animals, fishing in the pond and playing games. The kids named the cats last year and greeted each one by name on the porch. No need to get in the car; plenty of entertainment right on the farm!

Great Stay
Unique adventure for kids and adults. Large historical farmhouse property with animals, fishing, paddleboat, campfire, grilling and so very quiet at night. Great hiking and canoeing nearby. Everyone had a great time!

Great Farmhouse Weekend
Shane was very helpful. He even gave us a list of local restaurants for dinner. Perfect weekend getaway for my wife and I, my parents, and my brother and his two little ones (4 and 6). We loved the farm and all of the animals. The four cats greeted us immediately upon our arrival, and the orange and white cat was our chaperone for the duration of our stay. All of the cats were sweet. The three ducks were always close by and hilarious. The llamas and chickens were fun to watch, but had little interest in their himan visitors. The goats and sheep enjoyed the attention and were very sweet. The pony was ornery as expected - nice pony, but still a pony so stay on your toes. The pond was the highlight, and we spent our entire weekend outside at the pond. There is shade at all times of day, and the fish were biting all day too. My 6 year old nephew caught 13 blue gill and he showed his 4 year old sister how to fish too - she caught 6. Halfway through the weekend, my niece said, "Can we come back here again?" This weekend was my Christmas gift to my family that I rarely see, and I couldnt be happier. Thank you Shane for a great weekend with my family!

Very Cute Getaway!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. We unfortunately had rain (in August), but it was no bother since we could sit and enjoy the rain inside the enclosed screen porch. It was still beautiful and relaxing! The animals were really cool to have on site. The kids got a kick out of it. The property was very clean and the lawn perfectly maintained. We would gladly plan to stay here again. They also have accommodations for babies/toddlers that weren't listed on the site and was a pleasant surprise.

Thanks for the review. Normally the horse would be out in the pasture, but she has been sick and has to remain in the stall until she has finished her medicine. She’ll be back out soon.

Mohican mini farm
Booked this property for my family . We all enjoyed the animals and beautiful property. The farm house was neat . Some original and some newer additions. Very relaxing and private. We had a fire in the pit outside. Catch and release fishing at the pond on site.

A little piece of heaven
This property exceeded our expectations. Uncle Jeff was present after check-in to answer questions and make sure we had everything we needed. The setting is beautiful. The house is in great condition for its age, and was spacious enough for 5 adults and 4 kids. The animals added so much to the charm. Our grandkids enjoyed fishing in the pond, swinging on the big swing in the barn, feeding the animals, playing with the cats, and running around the property. The adults loved the mornings on the screened in porch, afternoons on the huge wrap-around porch, and evening fires in the fire pit. It was so nice that there was so little electronics used during this week stay. It was exactly what we needed to refresh and recharge. Thank you, Shane and Melissa, for sharing this with us. We'll definitely be back!!!

A great place to just relax!
We had a great time hanging on the farm! We had 5 boy 9 & younger who loved being outside fishing, feeding the animals and making S’mores by the fire. The owner was great and helpful. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life this is a great place to go!!

Girls weekend
9 women, friends for decades... First adventure of this nature without spouses, families. Everyone LOVED the house, the property and the animals. The weather could have been better but it did not stop us from thoroughly enjoying every minute. We did not want to leave!!! Felt like staying at grandma and grandpas farm... Charm galore and cozy. We loved and appreciated the country, rustic flavor. So peaceful and off the beaten path. We didnt leave the property except for the short walk up to the top of the hill to wander around a charming old cemetery and survey the damage from last years tornado. Planning on returning to this farmhouse oasis!!!!!

Wonderful, peaceful property. Perfect for animal lovers!
We had a group of 10 adults and we brought our pups along. Everyone had a fantastic time. The animals were a huge hit! The stray cats are all incredibly friendly, and the farm animals were so much fun to visit and feed! The kitchen has every tool you'd need to create a feast, and there are 2 charcoal grills behind the farmhouse, perfect for grilling hamburgers and hot dogs.

Annual late Christmas getaway
This was a return visit for us because we had such a good time last year. The grandkids love the animals. The adults take turns cooking in the spacious kitchen, equipped with everything we needed.

Great farm weekend
2nd time renting - great farm in a good area. Cozy well equipped house with a lot of animals around that the kids loved seeing. Very nice family get together - so wonderfully quiet also.

Home sweet home!
What a better way to spend time with your family! This place was a great gathering place for our adult children, their spouses and grandkids! We lucked out and caught the changing of the fall leaves just in time. The kids got a kick out of feeding the farm animals and fishing from the pond. The living conditions were what you’d expect from a country farmhouse. Definitely had the farm charm vibe. There’s lots of things to do in nearby villages. Mt Vernon is a University town with great parks and shops! Don’t forget the nearby town of Loudonville and the Mohican State park! They’re lots of Beautiful hiking trails and farmland to see.

Relaxing
It was a very quiet and relaxing time at the Farmhouse. My husband and I enjoyed watching the animals and it was a beautiful area. The house was very clean and well stocked with the amenities they provide. We would like to return someday.

Super Farm
The farm was a perfect get away with our family. The children loved feeding the animals and “checking” on them all day. We even got to do a little fishing in the pond. The house was cleaned and the property kept up. Looking at the stars around the campfire was a big hit as well!

After the Hurricane We Came!
We knew it was a bad storm, and found out on the day we were to check in that the storm was really a hurricane! The power was out and the house was running on a generator. Shane was very accommodating and would have given us a refund, but we decided to. Go for the adventure. Shane was great and very accommodating, he bought a propane griddle to take the place of the stove! We enjoyed the charm of the property and feeding the animals was a blast! We had excellent weather and really enjoyed the fire pit under the stars. The amazing thing was no bugs!!! The only drawback I can see is that the mattresses are soft and by the end of our stay we were all very ready to sleep in our own beds. Overall if you are looking to stay in a lovely , very well managed farm house we would recommend staying you will see the charm!

Great family get together!
The Mohican Farmhouse was a perfect family getaway and “stay put” environment, all the entertainment we needed onsite! We have six grandkids ages 2-7 and they enjoyed the open spaces and all the animals! Parents supervised but could relax on the two porches, and fire circle while doing so. The fishing pond was a hit for the adults. The farmhouse and the cottage were well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The owner stopped by one morning to care for the animals and shared fresh eggs with us. It was a perfect getaway for all of us.

Our late Christmas
In brief, the kids say they want you go back. The kitchen and linen closets were well stocked, all the critters were adorable. As a bonus we got a beautiful snow covering. Our only problem was that the internet did not work.

Perfect New Years getaway at the cutest farm
Everyone loved the Mohican Farmhouse! Very clean and comfy cozy but spacious enough for our group of 12. The farm animals and kitties provided hours of entertainment. Also loved the quick access to Mohican trails just 1/4 mile up the road. The upstairs bedrooms all attach to each other so you have to walk through them to get to the bathroom but the charm made it not an issue. The beds were all very comfortable. The stairs are definitely dangerous even knowing that 2 of the kids slipped but luckily weren’t injured. We would love to come back in summer or fall and use Pleasant Hill Lake which is only 10 minutes away. We won’t forget this place, lots of family memories created.

Farmhouse Stay
We had a great time at the farmhouse for an extended weekend. There was lots of bonding at the campfire, plenty of activities for everyone and the property was wonderful. We would definitely do it again.

We had a great visit and stay at the farm.
This is a great place to stay if wanting to enjoy the farm and be relatively close to Mohican State Park or Loudonville. We had 7 adults and 4 kids 5 and under. One family stayed in the cabin. The other family up stairs. It is an old farm house so it is very noisy from room to room in the house but well worth it if you want to enjoy the farm animals and out doors. Fishing was fun with lots of blue gill and bass in the pond. The grand kids also enjoyed the cats which were friendly.

We had a wonderful stay at The Farmhouse! Shane is so polite and helpful. Our family consist of 10 people of all age ranges . We stayed for three nights and had plenty of room and the kids were never bored! We would definitely like to book this property again in the future and cannot say enough nice things about our stay. What an amazing experience.
Farm was exactly as advertised and the photos online are accurate. Plenty of fish in the pond, farmhouse was unique, clean and the property/area was fun to explore. Pleanty to do in the nearby area (go visit mount Jees and Malabar farms) and the animals were such a bonus to wake up and visit/interact with, especially the friendly farm cats who will sit close by and just chill. I could go on about the place and our adventures but ill leave it at this, if you're considering staying here, do it, its more than worth it and its an especially unique stay. Thanks Shane and family for making this available for others to enjoy.

Family Fun on the Farm
The appealing photos and consistently favorable reviews were what attracted us to this property, and it lived up to our expectations in every way. As many others have said, the kids loved the animals: the house was clean, well stocked and cozy yet roomy; and Shane was very responsive yet respectful of his guests’ privacy. While the location is quiet and off the beaten path, it’s easily accessible from I-71 and an easy drive for our Northeast and Central Ohio family members. Having everyone under one roof (actually two roofs, counting the cottage) for several nights was great for enhancing already strong family relationships as well as a somewhat impromptu Christmas in July celebration.
