neat cabin

Peace and Tranquility!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Big Rock. From relaxing by the fireplace and outdoor fire pit to fresh air on the porch, this was a perfect retreat for peace and tranquility. The cabin had everything we needed for the stay and was conveniently located to great restaurants and gift shops. We loved the artwork and little touches that made it home away from home. We highly recommend Big Rock!

Perfect getaway cabin
The cabin was the perfect size and location for my family of 4. It was well kept and the only issue we had was a flipped breaker but was quickly resolved with a call to the owner.

Fantastic Rocks
The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. The porch was nice with an outside table for eating. The best part was the fire circle partly surrounded with rocks. Note that it is a log cabin so you do hear when anyone moves in the loft. All beds were comfortable. The art work was interesting- I don't know how to "classify " it-primitive, outsider, eclectic- I think they had fun gathering it for an interesting display that was everywhere. It is close to all RRG attractions!

Great cabin
This property was perfect for our family of 4. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. It was in a very scenic area. The picnic table and fire pit near the rock face was awesome. The owner gave very detailed driving directions and all of the amenities were as described. The cabin was close to all of the wonderful trails Red River Gorge has to offer. We will definitely be back.

Fun Cabin in the mountains.
Centrally located to points of interest in the Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge area. We did a lot of day hiking and enjoyed our evenings at the cabin, especially around the beautiful campfire. Be sure and stop at one of the nearby locations and pick up plenty of firewood! It is a great little cabin in the woods, we found everything there we needed to enjoy our stay.

PERFECT!
This property is awesome! Very quiet, peaceful area. If you are planning on going to the Gorge Underground ( which I highly recommend) this place is just up the road from the Gorge Underground. The firepit under the rock ledge is sooo cool. We had a blast here and will definitely stay here again!

Stellar cabin and location
This was a stellar location and property for us. Clean and well thought out accomodations with some very special highlights. Eclectic, bright, comfortable, conveniences all around. The wrap around porch and fire pit are of course beyond compare for us. A pleasure to stay in such a great place with our two dogs. Great experience all around. Will absolutely stay here again. Mountain Perfection
Everything about this was perfect The cabin is SO much more than what is listed. It’s absolutely beautiful and spacious and better stocked than any rental we have ever stayed in. Check in was super easy. The hummingbirds were fabulous. We just absolutely loved Big Rock Cabin and can’t wait to go back!

Peaceful Place
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We did have a few ants come in and try to take over, but that is to be expected when your in a cabin in the mountains. The oil paintings are cool! There was however, some voodoo looking decorations that we could have done without, especially the tree stump in the upstairs bathroom. Very creepy! Overall was a great location and very relaxing. The fire pit and it's surroundings were amazing!

Don’t miss this special place
Our family of four had a great stay. What a special place to relax. You could easily spend 2-3 days or more exploring the area just around the cabin. We explored the Gorge and enjoyed La Cabana Mexican restaurant - so good!

Hidden gem!

New Experience Couldn’t Have Gone Better!
Our family goes on an annual camping trip every year, but this year we decided to add an extra trip and rent a cabin as one of us had back surgery earlier in the year and we were looking for a little more comfort than the regular tent camping. We were not disappointed! This cabin was gorgeous and clean and comfortable. We had the best time and loved getting to have our dogs still join us. We explored the area during the day and we were so grateful to be able to come back at night to a clean shower and the stunning fire pit, and enjoyed the full kitchen with all the supplies we could have ever needed to make some tasty dinners in. The artwork was so cool as well! The check in/check out process was simple and easy, and we were provided so much useful information as well as answers to any possible questions in advance. Thank you for a fantastic stay, we would love to come back!

Woodland Retreat
We had a wonderful time at Big Rock! The kitchen was fully stocked, as were the linens. The beds were comfortable & we loved spending time around the unique fire pit. The area had a lot to offer around the cabin as well. The host was responsive to our needs, including reaching out during storms to make sure all was well. We definitely recommend staying here for a relaxing getaway!

Quiet Neighborhood
My husband and I stayed with our two dogs for a few days. The location was good for the activities we had planned. The house was the right size for us and could easily accommodate a few more. There were 3 queen sized beds which were comfortable. There is also a sleeper sofa. We had a full sized converted 15-passenger van. Getting out of the driveway and turned around to head out required some creative manuvers. Wifi connection was good. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The only negative aspect of our stay was the carpenter bees and wasps. It was spring time in the woods and cohabitating with nature is expected. The wasps were building nests on the roof of the front porch and the carpenter bees were making their home next to the chimney. Made sitting outside in rockers a very short visit. For the women who suffer from hot flashes or anyone who sleeps hot: was pleasantly surprised by the fan on the nightstand. It was perfect! Also, be sure to bring your hair dryer. Overall, I recommend this home if you are looking for something comfortable and peaceful after a long day on the gorge.

Outstanding property, awesome art in cabin
The property is one-of-a-kind with impressive rock formations and a campfire location under an overhang. The original artwork inside the property and the large outside porch put this property over the top in our experience renting vacation homes. Would definitely go back to this location again if the opportunity arises!

Great cabin in an amazingly secluded area.
The pictures are amazingly accurate on VRBO. I have had a couple of disappointing experiences, but this was not the case. The cabin was so clean, everything we needed was there. The owner left a binder full of information and places to go and things to do. It was so peaceful and beautiful. Loved sitting outside listening to the nighttime sounds. It was everything we wanted. The fire pit was amazing. Loved this cabin. Loved our stay, wished it hadn't gone so quickly. We would live to come back and stay again.

Cozy well designed cabin!
Cabin is truly lovely, well decorated and cozy. The gas fireplace was so nice to cozy up to. This is my fault for not looking into the photos more, but while doing my search I made sure the place had a “hot tub” and I assumed this meant a standard outdoor hotub, not a jacuzzi in the loft… other than that, the cabin exceeded expectations.

The cabin was amazing! Clean, well-maintained, and beautiful surroundings. Centrally located to hikes and restaurants. John was a wonderful host - we had a few questions to which he was very helpful and responsive, and check-in was very easy. It made for the perfect trip for our family. Super cozy cabin and gorgeous property
My family of 4 people and 2 dogs had the best time. The cabin is clean, cozy, and well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed. I loved sitting on the front porch on a rainy morning. The best part is the property! We live in Dayton, Ohio. We loved being immersed in nature. The bonfire area was my absolute favorite. I would have a bonfire every night if I lived here. I highly recommend staying at Big Rock Cabin. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Well Equipped Cabin
Just spent the last two days celebrating Christmas with family at this lovely cabin. The cabin was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the tree was lovely. The kitchen is fully equipped which was a real plus as we prepared a holiday dinner while there. They even had a roaster pan for visitors to use which was a real plus. We had an amazing time at the cabin and would love to go back in the future. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Beautiful cabin
It was a beautiful, spacious cabin. Much larger than we were expecting. The fire pit picnic area outside was amazing. We also really appreciated the notes that told to do or what went with what. I was nervous about the gas fireplace and there was a little sticker saying click here to turn on. Remotes were clear. Made it easy to settle in. Great property highly recommend!!

Peace at last
We loved our little trip to the cabin; We enjoyed hiking and looking for new areas of interest. Is always a good trip to Kentucky and our kids look forward to eating at Miguel’s Pizza. The cabin had everything we needed and even more! It was quiet and cozy. We returned to Indy much relaxed and look forward to next year’s visit to the Gorge. We loved Big Rock Cabin! It was perfect for our family of 5. Our 3 young adult children loved the big rock that’s located next to it. The location is perfect. It’s just a few minutes drive to Natural Bridge hiking trails. The cabin had everything we needed and the owners were very easy to communicate with. We loved the authentic log cabin feel. We will definitely come back!
