The apartment in the Swebenhus* is the perfect starting point for excursions into the beautiful Mecklenburg Lake District, whether on foot, by bike, or on a boat trip from the nearby harbor. Numerous swimming spots on Lake Plau invite you to linger. In the evening, enjoy local cuisine at one of the many restaurants in the old town, stroll through the old town and the harbor, admire the lift bridge over the Elde River, enjoy the view of Lake Plau, or whip up a meal yourself in the apartment’s fully equipped kitchen to enjoy on the south-facing terrace.<br><br>Visitor’s tax:<br>The city of Plau am See charges a visitor’s tax of 1.50 EUR per night/person for guests aged 16 and older from April 1 through October 31. In exchange, you can use the Plauer See shuttle bus—which also goes to the beach—for free. The host will collect the visitor’s tax directly from the guest.<br><br>Parking:<br>You may stop directly in front of the house on the left side of the street (one-way street) for loading and unloading. You’ll usually find free parking in the side streets in the area, or paid parking (Mon.–Fri. from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at the market. If there are no available spots, there is a large free parking lot 500 meters away at the corner of B103 and Quetziner Straße, within sight of Rewe. There is also a charging station there (WEMAG Charging Station).<br><br>Bicycle parking:<br>Bicycles can be securely parked in the courtyard. However, bicycles must be guided through the stairwell, which is narrow in places (narrowest point due to stairs: 70 cm).
