“There are vacations, and then there are vacations. This place is about as unique as they come. A few things to be aware of. First the drive from the Airport is a 7 hour drive. Be prepared for that. “This resort provides an authentic "forest" experience while at the same time making sure all one's needs are taken care of. Dining is surprisingly good (my husband is a gourmet chef so he should know) as is the service! We couldn't ask for more but got it thanks to the friendliness of the owners. “Perfect for a relaxing retreat with or without the yoga and a good place for the activities in the Oso/Corcovado area. Jen and Stuart’s hospitality is exceptional - everything you need, when you need it, with no fuss, and very well priced (eg $10 for a delicious lunch). Breakfast is delicious. Stuart’s cocktails are great. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone. The only thing i would have done differently is hiring bikes in town for greater flexibility. ”

“Our stay at Pavones Point was perfect! The location is right at the top point of Pavones surf break. Walk right across the road and paddle out…or walk a little down to the right for a bit less intense wave. The condo was clean and spacious…had everything we needed. Clean towels, comfortable beds, coffee maker, toaster, blender. No salt or pepper and no trays if you plan on making bacon or roasting anything. And no full length mirrors but the location makes up for that!”

“We had a great 5 days at Iguana Lodge. The staff and owner were very friendly and responsive. The room was comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the kitchen and food aromas at times. The only downside to the property was the road leading from Puerto Jimenez to Iguana Lodge. The beachfront and pool were wonderful. Very relaxing. Food was great but more options would have been nice a well. Morning breakfasts were great. ”

“There is no way this is 3.5 star and it is very expensive for a small motel room. Cold water shower (despite it working for a couple of seconds) Owner has a pack of dogs that bark all the time - they locked them in when I complained but were out barking again at 6am It says it is inclusive of breakfast but they didn’t provide it and said it was a mistake So really poor but the little restaurants nearby were great and I probably had the best meal so far, it’s also a great place for spotting...
