Beautiful location in the secluded woods

This is your peaceful and serene nature getaway with an off grid appeal. It is secluded and beautiful and borders the Shawnee National Forest boundary. It is right on the wine trail in southern Illinois, with plenty of orchards and famous hiking trails such as Little Grand Canyon and Pomona Natural Bridge. Hunting is legal on this 8.2 acre property, and there are plenty of places to hike on the property and into the connecting Shawnee National Forest. There are picnic areas in the woods and a spacious back deck to enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine while enjoying the sunset. This place is very secluded and there is almost no traffic as it sits on a one lane farm road. The entire home has been renovated and remodeled, with a wood burning stove inside. For 2024, it is in the heart of total darkness for the eclipse! Rent this secluded place and have it all to yourself for the week! Your pets are more than welcome! The bedrooms sleep 5 people. Extra guests are welcome to bring air mattresses. The kitchen has coffee and a coffee maker, as well as ice and water. There is bathtub and a shower for guests. There is also a sheltered picnic area outside in case of rain, as well as a covered back deck. WI-FI has just been added to the home! .

The host was great. Took the time to show me around. Very nice guy. The house was newly remodeled and clean. Stocked with housewares and all appliances including a grill so just bring your food. Great place if you want something secluded.

Nestled in the woods, this home is a perfect getaway and a great base for exploring the natural beauty of Southern Illinois! Kevin is an excellent host communicating details for our stay. Great rooms, beds, porch, bath and views to the forest! All super comforable (and exceptionally clean too). I made dinner last night and it was easy to find what I needed in the kitchen. We will definitely come back again!

Cute little home in the forest, so quiet and peaceful! It’s a bit of a drive to get to anything - groceries, restaurants etc, but when you’re sitting on the back porch enjoying the beautiful view you won’t care. Just plan accordingly. Great communication from Kevin when needed. Clean home, comfy beds, a fridge that was very thoughtfully stocked with lots of bottled water which was very appreciated for hiking the trails nearby. Highly recommend!

A few family members and I stayed for our annual girls weekend trip. The host was great with communication and we felt very welcomed at this secluded house. With three bedrooms, we had plenty of space to relax and enjoy our time away from home. The surrounding woods gives a very private feel. The location was wonderful for our weekend winery trip. We didn't have time to explore the Natural Bridge or The Little Grand Canyon, but we were very close to the Shawnee National Forest.

Location was good, deck was great. Lighting in house was dark. Bed was not comfortable. AC does not cool bedrooms. No measuring cup or whisk. Those would be nice as we ate at the house.

The house is exactly as described. Very clean and had everything we needed, comfortable beds, hot shower with good pressure and everything we needed to make meals in the kitchen. We loved how quiet and peaceful it was there. And we really appreciated how dog friendly the host is! Just be aware that their are a lot of ticks and mosquitoes if you bring your pets!

Peaceful Stay

My husband and I had a great stay here with our two dogs to get away from our noisy city over the 4th of July. The property was lovely, the house had everything we needed and more. Our host was super fast to respond to all inquiries, plus gave us some tips for sightseeing and local restaurants (I was previously unaware of Inspiration Point and it was gorgeous!!!). It was a perfect and peaceful stay, and we would most definitely stay here again. Thank you! :)
